Super Modern Mario Brothers

Super Mario Brothers for Nintendo is one of the greatest games ever created, and it holds up quite well. While games have advanced over the years to the point that they are almost lifelike, the NES classic still holds up in terms of functionality and ability to hold a child's interest. But if the game was being released for the first time in this day and age, there would have to be some changes made. They could keep the side scrolling action, the Goomba & Koopa enemies, and the flagpole... but they would have to tweak things like what would happen to the enemies when you killed them, what powers the power-ups would give you, and how the hell a plumber from Brooklyn could slide down a 100 foot flagpole without a problem!!!! Boneface Puts Some Of Your Favorite Fictional Characters Into Some Interesting Situations...

I cam across British artist Boneface's awesome "Bloodied" superhero series on a few other sites, but even though those were quite awesome I was much more impressed with his other work. First I went to his personal site (click here), then I saw that he had a ton of stuff for sale over at his Society 6 page (click here). All in all, a great artist with a style that is hard to put your finger on. I'll just call his work dope... click after the jump for more works of art from Boneface!

How Do You Eat These? by Ben Chen

This is a really cool mashup of the Tom Hank's classic Castaway character and the sea life from the Super Mario Brothers franchise by artist Ben Chen. He got him some grub, but how do you cook 8 bit sea life? Anyone? Anyone? Wilson... you got any ideas? Click after the jump to see the full sized pic...

This Live Action 'Luigi's Mansion' Fan Video Is Amazing

Luigi's Mansion was a very fun/scary take on the other brother in the Mario clan, a dope walkthrough adventure with a horror tinge to it. Despite being quite short in length, this launch title for the GameCube system  was one of my faves to play back in 2001. I caught this live action fan film of the game posted on YouTube a few weeks back and I held onto it for All Horror Week due to the fact that it was completely awesome. The effects are great and the guy playing Luigi really sells it... Check the full video out after the jump.

I came across artist Nike Holmes's work after Jeff sent me an email featuring the artisit's 'Super Lion-O Bros.' piece. I loved his work, so I clicked on his Deviant Art page to see more. boy am I glad I did that. He has a ton of cool mash-up inspired pieces that I found awesome and I wanted to share with you guys.
