The Walking Dead Mid-Season Finale & It's Comic Counterparts... In GIF Form!

Ahhh... the magic of the Internet! What a great tool, especially for people who like to dot their I's and cross their T's as much as I do! Having read The Walking Dead comics and being an avid fan of the TV show I love the little differences and substitutions between the two. Things that happen to certain characters are swapped, story lines are co-mingled, and the overall narrative tends to blur from time to time.... but no matter what, the gist of the original story is conveyed and the show always circles back to the books origins. I am always interested to see when and where the writers on the show will come back to the original narrative when they deviate... especially since the creator/writer Robert Kirkman is so closely associated with the shows journey. Thanks to the good old folks at Reddit (and its original source location), we can give people who didn't read the original books a glimpse at where the original ideas for some key moments in this seasons mid-season finale started out from. My main man Joe Fletch has been sending me thousands (ok, maybe not thousands... like high hundreds) of links to various Reddit threads sharing all types of cool stuff, but the ones that catch my attention are usually the ones featuring some hot chicks. Recently he uncovered three threads linking back to the Walking Dead Imgur page featuring actress Lauren Cohen, who portrays Maggie on the show, posing scantily clad and sexy in Black & White photographs. Now that is reason alone to share in a post... but the actual sexiness that she is exuding in these pics made it a must share. New York Comic Con 2013 - Great Pictures from the Show Floor

The show floor at the 2013 NY Comic Con was epic... all the construction on the Javits Convention Center is done, and the flow of the floor was at an all time high. The new badge system and spreading of the Comic Con event throughout the WHOLE building made the floor much more manageable to navigate. Once again, the displays didn't disappoint and there was a lot to see. Are 'The Walking Dead' and 'Toy Story' The Exact Same Thing?

When I was firsts sent this link by my friend Jen over on Facebook I had to laugh at the very thought of it. What could The Walking Dead possibly have in common with Toy Story. One is a gruesome survival story about a lawman trying to lead a group of his fellow survivors into the uncertain future of a zombie apocalypse. The other is the story of a lawman trying to lead his fellow toy compatriots into an uncertain future after their owner gets older. Wait a sec... maybe there is more to this theory than I originally thought!!! Adventure Times Mash-ups by Mike Vazquez

Being that I am catching up on my back episodes of Adventure Time (pretty much the best cartoon created in the last 10 years), I am obsessed with Jake, Finn and everybody else on the show. But when I saw them cast in some of my other favorite pop culture properties like The Walking Dead and Star Wars in the mashup art of Mike Vazquez, I knew I just had to post about it. The Walking Dead Season 3 DVD Case: The Most Inspired Blu Ray Case Ever!!!

In celebration of the return of The Walking Dead this Sunday, comes news of the most unusual DVD case of all time. I don't need the DVD contents (because I rarely watch a program twice) but I would love to have this case in my collection. It even allows you to add water to complete the gruesome effect floating head effect. I hope that McFarlane Toys puts out a regular version of this piece with the next set of Walking Dead action figures. Catch the case after the jump....

Rick & The Gang Are About To Get Governed!!! Season 3 Of The Walking Dead Is Back From Winter Break...

As we ease back into the regular TV programming schedule there are certain shows which stick out as high points among those returning from winter hiatus. Arrow is one I am really looking forward too. Once Upon A Time as well. And it is going to be nice to finish Supernatural as a series once this season finishes up the series. But one show I can't wait to get finished has to be The Walking Dead over at AMC. Rick and the gang rescued Glenn and Maggie from the grips of the Governor, delivered Daryl into the sadistic hands of his brother Merle, and has seen the Governor condemn Merle & Daryl as traitors pitted against each other in a fight to the death. We also are left with the appearance of Tyrese (one of my favorite characters in the comics), but left me a bit weary because it is clear that his story on the TV show is going to be quite different then the path he took in the comics. The Walking Dead To Re-screen Episodes In Black & White? Yes Please!!!!!

One of the coolest things about The Walking Dead comic books has to be the fact that Robert Kirkman & Tony Moore decided to do the comic in black and white. It adds a level of creepiness to the story and helps mute some of the over the top blood, guts & gore that occupy Rick & the gangs world. Last year the premiere episode of the TV show was re-aired in black & white as an homage to the comic and it went over gangbusters. So AMC has decided to roll the dice and re-air the first two seasons of the show in its entirety in black and white as well. As someone who enjoys both the original comics and has saw the first episode in black & white, I for one am thrilled. I can't wait to revisit the TV version again in this altered state. The re-airngs will be taking place starting February 14th. Check out the first episode opening scene in black & white and make sure to tune into AMC this February for a whole new take on the show...

CCD Meets Sean Hamilton,... Live In Artist Alley @ The 2012 NY Comic Con

So in my travels down the aisles of the 2012 NY Comic Con I saw lots of very unique art. But few were able to execute a high concept like my man Sean Hamilton. Sean is an artist that mashes up classic pop culture characters with some of the dopest sneakers on the planet earth... and sometimes even out of this world (see the R2-D2 x Galaxy Foamposite mashup!). Lots of guys do Mario art, but who puts Mario into a pair of Air Jordan 11's to kick some Koopa Troopa ass? Leave that to my man Sean. Sean is a sneaker head like myself, with over three hundred pairs in his personal collection, and he is including all of the best Nike & the like has to offer with some of the most recognizable characters in your life. Michonne from Walking Dead checks in with some Air Jordan 1's on. Walter White gets the Wu Tang Wallabee Clarke treatment. Storm bust out some fresh Yeezy 2s. The possibilities never really end... The Walking Dead is one of my favorite current shows on TV and I have been a fan of the original comic for quite sometime. I recently have re-read issues 1-75 of the comic (I am currently trying to catch up) and am super psyched for the upcoming season because they will be introducing Michonne, The Governor & the Prison. Fans of the comics know just how great these things are, and in just a few short weeks you will to. The Walken Dead: All Walken , All The Time

In this world overrun by zombies, the only thing they crave is more cowbell.... this is so great! I love that they say that it is the newest show on the AWC (All Walken Network), which features All Walken, All The Time! I would watch the shit out of that channel. So, The Walking Dead Season 2 Is Shaping Up Rather Nicely

The first photos of the zombies that are plaguing the gang in The Walking Dead season 2 have surfaced... and boy oh boy, these scary mofo's look wonderful!!! Despite rumors of all the writers being fired and massive budget cuts, it seems to be (from this one photo anyway!) that the show is right on track.

I didn't really understand why AMC would mess with the show period though... it doesn't make much sense, does it? This is a network with two of the highest regarded dramas that currently air on TV (Mad Men & Breaking Bad) and successfully cultivated another hit out of a zombie plague comic book series. These guys at AMC have been right time after time (except for Rubicon... I want the 10 hours I gave up to watch that piece of shit back!!!), so I would let them do WHATEVER they want with their shows. Lets just keep this one on the up and up, ok? Because The Walking Dead is one of the best shows on TV... period.

1) 3 Favorite Movie Releases of 2010:

- Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World - A perfect movie... nothing else to say.

- Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows pt.1 - What a wonderful first part to the finale of this unreal movie franchise. I absolutely loved everything about it, and it did its job in hyping me up for the final film of the most successful franchises ever!!!

- 'Kick Ass': This is the kind of comic book movie I want to see. It is great. Millar's story is phenomenal, and Vaughn brings it to the screen magically. Also, I have two words for all you guys out there: Chloe Moretz. That little girl is gonna be huge... trust me!!!! Also, how can you not love a movie that features a batshit crazy Nic Cage being lit on fire. Wonderful.

2) Favorite Song of 2010:

3) Favorite Album of 2010:

Rhianna - Loud - Great album from a great artist. She had a good rebound year after the Chris Brown fiasco, and Love the Way you Lie, What's My Name & Only Girl were some of my favorite songs of the year. Classic.

4) Favorite "New" TV Show of 2010: AMC's The Walking Dead & No Ordinary Family

Honestly, if The Walking Dead was 12 or more episodes then it would have been a slam dunk. But 6 episodes left me wanting more. Sure, No Ordinary Family is cheesy, and schmaltzy, but guess what... I love it. Yeah its a rip of The Incredibles & The Fantastic Four... so what? Not to mention Julie Benz & Autumn Reeser. Good Lord!!!! Watch it... it's great! Also, I love Boardwalk Empire.

5) Favorite "Old" TV Show of 2010: Glee - A fun show that makes me laugh week in and week out. Plus, too many hotties to count. Quinn, Rachel, Brittney, Santana... JEEZUSSSSSS!!!

6) Best Purchase you made in 2010: My Netflix Membership - Holy fucking shit. I watch alot of Netflix. I watched over 500 movies on my Instant Streaming. 500!!! Not to mention about 10 TV series in its entirety. I use it so much, and I love it. Best 8 bucks a month that I spend....

7) New Technology that you acquired in 2010: Blu Ray Player - I have over 1,000 DVD's and don't want to upgrade but, the Blu Ray player plays DVDs (and makes them look better) and I might as well buy any movies FROM HERE ON OUT in a better format. Can't hurt... but I will not double buy anything. EVER!!!

8) Favorite Film you watched on DVD, Netflix or Cable in 2010:

'Exit Through The Gift Shop' - Phenomenal documentary, and all around excellent movie. A must see. Just missed my top 3 movies of the year. (Probably number 4 or 5).

9) Celebrity That you loved in 2010 (1 male & 1 female):

Female: Chloe Moretz - I love this kid. Sure I could have went with Scarlett Johanson or Katy Perry's wonderful TaTa's or Zooey Deschanel's wonderful baby blue eyes. But this kid stole my heart this year. She is great. In 'Kick Ass', she did just that... Kick Ass. She was great. The 'cock signal' line was so amazing, I choked on my popcorn. Great stuff. Also, see her in '500 Days of Summer' as Joe Gordon Levitt's younger sister and her starring role in 'Let Me In'. Phenomenal movie. She is so amazing. Can not wait to see her in ANYTHING she does.

Male: Robert Downey Jr. - Why RDJ you ask? Well, he is my favorite living actor and I feel he is amazing in everything he does. But I picked him here because he is a HUGE star, yet has no problem playing a supporting role ('Charlie Bartlett') or being part of an ensamble cast like he will be in The 'Avengers' (2011). He is perfect. Name me a bad Robert Downey Jr movie... can you? I am so happy that my first Blu Ray purchase was 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang', one of his most under rated performances of his story book career. Keep it up RDJ!!!

10) Celebrity That you hoped would die in a plane crash (1 male & 1 female):

Female: Kate Gosselin, Snooki, and just about every other reality show female on the planet earth. My girlfriend Tara watches a lot of reality shows... so by default I watch a lot of reality shows. One thing I noticed about almost all of them is the fact that the females tend to let it get to their heads the most and act like animals on a regular basis. Why is this? Just take the 'Jersey Shore'. Before that show started, I saw the way the guys looked and said "These guys are going to be the biggest dicks... ever!". In reality, overall they are pretty mellow and cool. The girls are heathens and animals. Especially that goblin Snooki. Grrrrrr! I hate them. If she wasn't responsible for 8 kids, I would really want Gosselin's plane to nose dive. But then they would be stuck with their tool bag father, so I wouldn't wish that on no one.

Male: Steve Martin - Why, oh why Steve? Steve Martin was one of my favorite actors of all time. He was great in everything throughout the 80's & 90's. Then he forgot how to pick roles. He should have never made that movie with Queen Latifah (it's been all downhill since then!) and the fact that he remade 'The Pink Panther' Movies should qualify him for a firing squad. He was not some young actor who took a paycheck and you can understand. He is a multi millionaire and a 30 year vet. He should have left Sellers & Blake Edwards alone. If I ever see him, I am going to smack him with a hamburger for those ridiculous scenes. He has to do some pretty remarkable work to get back in my good graces, and he can start by never making another 'Pink Panther' movie again... ever!!!!

Lego Mini figures: Such a brilliant idea on Lego's part. One of my favorite things about buying Lego, since I was 4 or 5 years old, is to get my hands on the Mini figs that come with each set. Lego decided to create dozens of Mini Figures and package them separately and enigmatically, like baseball cards,  so that they're a surprise each time. The fun part of this is that it gives Lego the opportunity to release figures like a zombie, a roman gladiator, clown, luchadore or even Dracula that wouldn't be so simple to build a whole series around. Fun to trade with friends...or create an army of clown clones! Pure genius

7) New Technology that you acquired in 2010:
3-D Bluray Player and LED TV. I'm in no way a 'Techy' I'm just happy to move my 29in TV back into the bedroom where it belongs and watch TV like a human after my 48in LCD burnt out 2 years ago.

8) Favorite Film you watched on DVD, Netflix or Cable in 2010: 'Danger: Diabolik'. A MUST see.

9) Celebrity That you loved in 2010 (1 male & 1 female):

Female: Katy Perry...hands down. Coolest chick ever. She makes fun music and loves to dress accordingly. She's got the sense of humor of good pal and even married one one of the coolest guys. You'd think I'd hate him for it but, how could one dislike Russel Brand?

Male: Tom Hardy! You might remember him from small parts in 'Layer Cake' and 'RocknRolla' but his first big film 'Bronson' may have been the most inspired work I've seen in a decade from anyone. In addition he steals the shine from every co-star in every film he's a part of. His character in 'Inception' was so quick tongued and brilliant. Both his style and responses to the press are classic. He's rumored to be off to the new Mad Max film these days but, he's guaranteed the top 'dramatic/action star' seat in Hollywood for an unforeseeable future.

10) Celebrity That you hoped would die in a plane crash (1 male & 1 female):

Female: I gotta say, I'm probably not wishing death on any women this year. Women REALLY have to be up to something paralyzingly obnoxious to make me THAT mad at them because, let's face it, they still have the parts I need! If I HAD to choose, though, I guess it'd have to be Heidi Montag from 'The Hills'. I didn't even remember her name and had to look her up...that's how insignificant she should be to everyone! She makes Paris Hilton look like natural born talent who's famous for doing something in comparison. Her every move is a publicity stunt to keep her in some sort of spotlight. Wishing her death via plane crash is probably something she has planned already, herself, for more notoriety.


Male: Michael Bay...every year...until his demise. That's it. I only focus on 1 person at a time until the deed is done. Ask your friends why Heath Ledger is dead.
