The CCD Podcast: Episode #88 - The Final Curtain at The Ziegfeld Theater & The Force Awakens With The O.G. Three!

When it comes to Star Wars, great things come in 3s. The original trilogy consists of THREE classic films... The main triumvirate of characters are Luke/Leia/Han... In the prequels there were 3 awesome bad guys (Dooku/Grievous/Darth Sidious) at once... R2, C3-PO and Chewy are the 3 best supporting characters one could ever have... The greatest film in the series (EMPIRE STRIKES BACK) has three words in its title... I could go on and on if need be, but trust me when I say that 3s are significant to the whole Star Wars series. So it is only fitting that the ORIGINAL THREE podcasters who started the CCD Podacst reunited to discuss their takes on The Force Awakens... and we even attended the last EVER screening at the historic Ziegfeld Theater in NYC to make the experience even that more special. So join the OG Three (Jedi Rob, Mike D and Jeff 'JB Smoove' Bond as we break down the dopest movie in the galaxy one last time!

The CCD Podcast: Episode #11 - Podcast of the Apes Pt. 3 or If You Fuck With Nature, Nature Will Fuck You Back!!!!

Well, all good things have to come to an end... and a complete Planet of the Apes retrospective is no exception. 'Jedi' Rob Martin, Jeff 'Baby Milo' Bond, and Joe 'Rock n Roll Ape' Milazzo have spent Episodes #8 and #9 of the CCD podcast looking back at the whole franchise, and the full retrospective concludes in Episode #11 (after the jump). In this one the gang looks back at the Planet of the Apes live action TV show, the cartoon series, the Marvel comic books of the 70s/80s, Tim Burton's failed reboot version of a film, and the 2011 masterpiece that revitalized the franchise, Rise of the Planet of the Apes. They also talk about what their hopes and expectations are for the upcoming Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (out this Friday, July 11th)  and also propose some interesting personal theories about the timelines of all the films and if they all exist in the same continuity. It is Ape-tastic!!! Also we feature some amazing Tommy Lombardozzi artwork of the classic apes we all know and love, another Jedi Rob photoshopped movie poster, as well as the trippy introduction to the cartoon series that Rob discusses in this episode. It is by far the biggest, most packed episode of the retrospective... and the culmination of this great 3 episode arc! Enjoy all the content after the jump...

EmpTV Cribs by Scott DW and the Star Wars Crew

Star Wars videos are hitting the 'net all the time, and some are pretty great. But very rarely do you find the perfect combination of one that looks good and has great original Star Wars themed content... and that comes to us via Scott DW and the Star Wars crew. They create the 'EmpTV Cribs' universe that takes a look at what life may be like for a fortunate Storm Trooper named TK-429 aka Super Nova. He has reaped the benefit of Order 66, and he is living large. His crib is sick, his party guest list is popping... shit, he even got Jabba up in the place! But what happens when my man Darth Vader shows up without his invitation? This is a great video, and the bets part is the guys show a lot of what went into it in the information section on the Youtube video page. Lots of cool things had to happen to make this sweet video, so its nice for them to give the behind the scenes guys so much love. Check out the whole video after the jump...

Now This Is The Kind Of Movie I Want To See More Of...

Kung Fury... a late Christmas present for a guy just getting back into the blogging groove! Thanks to my buddy Jeff Bond (a la my man Glenn) we get this awesome project called Kung Fury, a proto movie being created in Sweden about a renegade cop in 80s Miami that gets kicked off the force because he is too aggressive... and then decided to go back into time to hunt the greatest Kung Fu villain of all time: The Kung Fuhrer himself, Adolf Hitler! Oh, and there are also dinosaurs, power gloves, Viking warriors, Thor, and much more. Jesus, are you kidding me? The best part about this project has to be that the director has already shot 30 minutes of footage, went to Kickstarter to raise money to travel to Miami to get the background shots he needed for the film, and promptly achieved DOUBLE his goal of 200,000 in funding. So now my man has close to a half a mil to finish this thing up properly. Let's hope he does it and gives us a classic in the vein of Black Dynamite... Check out the trailer and behind the scenes pics after the jump...

Happy Birthday Jeffy!!!!

Today is a great day... I get to celebrate a birthday with one of my best buds! Those of you guys who read CCD know of Jeff Bond, one of the behind the scenes guys here at the website. He has been involved with CCD since the early days, when he started posting his awesome Lost recap blogs during Season 6. He then continued with his 'I'd Buy That As A T' T-shirt posts & his 'Like, Like?' art features. But what most people don't know is that Jeff works tirelessly behind the scenes, editing and helping to keep the website looking good as well as always being their whenever we have any extra curricular activities like our tireless coverage of NYC Comic Con. My man has been by my side since the beginning, so its only fitting that as we stand on the cusp of expanding the site that he is right there with me. Happy bday brother man... enjoy this picture of Rebo from the Cantina Band as a cake on your nerdy bday!!!! Party up kid....

The results are nothing short of spectacular. Prepare to enjoy the awesomeness that is Sesame Street Fighter after the jump...

The I LUG NY Lego Display From the 2012 NY Comic Con Will Blow Your Mind....

When Tommy, Joe Fletch and I stumbled upon the autograph hall in the basement of the Javitz Center on Day #1 of Comic Con, we found a pleasant surprise. Nestled among the aisles set up to usher fans towards their pop culture icons for autographs was an insane display of Lego's unlike anything I had ever seen. Now I have seen many of the life size 'Statues' made out of Lego on display at various Toys R Us stores and even at the Lego Booth on the main floor of the con (see our picture sets posts)... those are pretty cool! But those were nothing compared to the layout put forth by I LUG NY. I Lug NY stands for Lego Users Group and these guys are no f'n joke... they set up a massive three sided display featuring recreations of tons of scenes from Pop Culture & comics. The attack on Mordor & The Shire from Lord of the Rings, The headquarters of  the Legion of Doom & the Hall of Justice from Super Friends, The clock tower from Back to the Future, The portal from The Avengers, The X Mansion (complete with Blackbird coming out of the Basketball court), The Tardis floating about, The Death Star Trench scene & Hoth from Star War... the display was downright amazing. Click after the jump for detailed photos and a cool video shot by Joe Fletch that does this impressive display little justice due to how awesome it really was....
