While our intrepid hosts Tommy Lombardozzi and Mike D certainly know a bunch about Jack Kirby, its always nice to have an EXPERT in the house! The guys turn to friend of the podcast and all around great guy Arlen Schumer for some help considering he is an expert on various forms of pop culture... especially Silver Age comic books! We sit down and talk about a ton of topics related to the King with Arlen, and the results were amazing. No topic is off the table... especially Arlen's massive hatred for "Lee Lemmings" (people who think Stan Lee was more important to the creation of the Marvel Universe instead of Jack or Ditko.)

The CCD Podcast: Episode #79 - Marvel's Jessica Jones Full Season Review AKA "The Meanest, Toughest Sexiest Show EVER MADE!!!"

When Marvel decided to partner up with Netflix to produce original content I immediately was intrigued by the characters they were choosing to go with. They planned on Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist for individual series... and then culminating in a Defenders movie. This is ambitious. I mean, almost everyone knows who the Hulk or Captain America is. But these guys? After Daredevil the list is relegated to really know obscure comic characters. But the inclusion of Jones was an eye brow raiser for me. I had loved the Brian Michael Bendis run in the early 2000s and the idea of a super powered private eye who doesn't want anyone to know she is "special" appeals to me. So I waited with patience... but all of that patience went out the window when Daredevil came out and I saw just how AMAZING it could be! So we made it our mission to watch ALL 13 EPISODES and have a special podcast reviewing the whole series! The CCD Podcast: Episode #12 - The Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Movie Review or Get Those Damn Dirty Balls Off Of Andy Serkis's Face And Into His MOUTH!!!!

Wow... I can't beleive we are 12 Episodes into the run of the CCD Podcast! While Episode #11 saw us finish our 3 part complete retrospective of the Planet of the Apes franchise, we couldn't have possibly have finished it up without recording our thoughts about the latest film in the Apes contingent. The CCD Podcast: Episode #11 - Podcast of the Apes Pt. 3 or If You Fuck With Nature, Nature Will Fuck You Back!!!!

Well, all good things have to come to an end... and a complete Planet of the Apes retrospective is no exception. 'Jedi' Rob Martin, Jeff 'Baby Milo' Bond, and Joe 'Rock n Roll Ape' Milazzo have spent Episodes #8 and #9 of the CCD podcast looking back at the whole franchise, and the full retrospective concludes in Episode #11 (after the jump). In this one the gang looks back at the Planet of the Apes live action TV show, the cartoon series, the Marvel comic books of the 70s/80s, Tim Burton's failed reboot version of a film, and the 2011 masterpiece that revitalized the franchise, Rise of the Planet of the Apes. They also talk about what their hopes and expectations are for the upcoming Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (out this Friday, July 11th)  and also propose some interesting personal theories about the timelines of all the films and if they all exist in the same continuity. It is Ape-tastic!!! 4th of July is one of our favorite holidays here at CCD... we are very patriotic like that. But instead of bloviating about the best laws and constitutional amendments our great country has to offer, we decided to tackle one of our favorite subjects: MOVIES WE LIKE TO WATCH ON THE 4TH OF JULY!!!!
