The CCD Podcast: Episode #10 - The Best Movies on the 4th of July EVER or This Is The Podcast 'Murica Deserves, Bitches!!!!!

4th of July is one of our favorite holidays here at CCD... we are very patriotic like that. But instead of bloviating about the best laws and constitutional amendments our great country has to offer, we decided to tackle one of our favorite subjects: MOVIES WE LIKE TO WATCH ON THE 4TH OF JULY!!!! Episode #10 of the CCD Podcast counts down our favorite 4th of July movies. Jedi Rob, Mike D and Tommy Lombardozzi's (making his CCD Podcast debut) are on the job. The movies we pick might not necessarily ring as so called "4th of July" movies, but these are the films we like to pop a squat and view on the 4th in between taking out hotdogs two at a time and lighting mortars off in front of our house! That is just how we get down. Check out some cool artwork as well, including Rob Martin's very own Captain America themed CCD piece, and a few from one of this weeks special guest Tommy Lombardozzi. How can you ask for anything more... it would be UN-AMERICAN! Enjoy a ton of content after the jump...

Jurassic Prank

This is such a fantastic little video, but also a snapshot of the amazing lengths our special effects capabilities have expanded in just 20 short years. I remember going to see Jurassic Park in the movie theater at 14 years old in 1993 and being blown away with how real the dinosaurs looked. It took like 2 years, a mega budget, and the genius that is Steven Spielberg to make that movie magic a reality. It was the pinnacle of anything that had ever been done in special effects history. Now a days these type of effects are very common place... CGI & the cheapness of computers have made this sort of thing pretty mundane. Last years Terra Nova was a first year show sporting similar Jurassic Park-esque dinosaurs on a network TV show. Never thought I would see that in my lifetime. Which brings us full circle to Jurassic Prank, a cool prank video from KHA Entertainment in which they let an animatronic T-Rex run rampant on the streets of Ohio. The results are pretty hysterical. Enjoy the video after the jump and thank your lucky stars as a film fan that we live in this awesome time of special effects....

Jurassic Park by Kevin Tong

Over the past few days I have been encountering the Jurassic Park property at every turn. First I can't seem to turn on my TV without seeing the movie on HBO. Next I take my son to Chuck E Cheese & they have the old Jurassic Park coin-op game that we played together, laughing at the moving seat and high excitement. And then I get an email from Mondo that says artist extraordinaire Kevin Tong is all set to release his Jurassic Park print, and once I set eyes on it I knew I had to put it on CCD. It was perfectly executed and just another spectacular poster from the guys who do it best. Check out the full pic after the jump...

What If Movie Posters Told The Truth???

The guys over at Cracked are alot funnier then me (shit... I would be funnier to if this was my FULL TIME GIG... fuck you Cracked staff!!!) and came up with these phenomenal movie posters. But instead of all the smoke & mirrors Hollywood usually feeds us, these are going to actually TELL THE TRUTH about said film. There are a bunch, but these are our favorites. I'd Buy That...As a Tee!

Spring has sprung and I could use a few new unique T-Shirts to really make a statement without saying a word. A Statement like "I'm a geek that doesn't take much of anything seriously...I'm approachable and easily abused." Here's some of the T-shirts I have my eye on to do just the trick but, there's only one problem....they aren't for sale yet! Please click the links below to the Threadless.com voting pages for each and give these beauties '5' ratings so I can throw 'em on my charge card one day.

'Island Vacation'- LOST homage disguised as a vintage vacation t-shirt?! I'll take 3!

'Rebel Scum Dogs'- Han & Greedo, face off once and for all, to decide who shoots first in this Star Wars/Reservoir Dogs mash-up!

Look At Joseph Mazzello, All Grows Up!!!

Thanks to Lindsey's cool ass Tumblr, we get to see actor Joseph Mazzello growing up on film right in front of our eyes. First as Tim Murphy in 'Jurassic Park' way back in 1993, then as Dustin Moskovitz in 2010's The 'Social Network'. Thanks for this Linds... I would have never known it was him!
