Chelsea Handler Says Goodbye To E! In The Only Way She Knows How...

Chelsea Handler has filmed over 1300 episodes over 7 years as the late night host of her E! Television talk show 'Chelsea Lately'. She pretty much came out of nowhere and carved out a niche spot in the late night game with a pretty popular following. Her brash humor and willingness to be self depreciating for the sake of the jokes made her lovable, and the fact that she constantly bigged up her faults as part of her comedy bits showed the human side of her. That makes her lovable and also a fan fave. So in typical Chelsea fashion, when it was time to part ways with the E! Network on her final show Chelsea decided to go out with a bang. She assembled a HUGE, star studded cast to do her own version of 'We Are The World' called 'Goodbye To E!'. She wasn't playing either, she broke out the big guns. Gwen Stefani, Dave Grohl, Fergie, Miley Cyrus, 50 Cent and the G Unit, Avril Lavigne, Alanis Morrissette, LeAnn Rymes, Tim Allen, Sandra Bullock, Tim Gunn, Melissa McCarthy, Johnny Knoxville, and Kelly Osbourne are just a handful of the names who packed the stage to wish Chelsea well on her way and aslo get in some last minute Chelsea-rific digs at E! and anyone else she wanted to (Kim & Kanye.... watch your neck!). Check out the performance after the jump....

Rocket Raccoon: A Musical Parody by Animfantastic x Town In The City

When I was a kid, my dad would play the Beatles constantly.... In the car, at the house... always with The Beatles. I developed quite a love for the Fab 4, but there was one song in particular that always held a soft spot for me. 'Rocky Raccoon'. I don't know why, but the songs lyrics (although dealing with adult themes of relationships, adultery and gun play) are quite appealing to kids. Maybe it is the sing-songy melody of the tune, or the drawl that Paul is using when singing the lyrics. Whatever it is, the song just jumped out of their catalog to me as a favorite. So, years later when I encountered Rocket Raccoon in the pages of Marvel comics it was hard to ignore the influences of the 'Rocky Raccoon' song over the character and story arc. Rocket is dating Lylla (like Lylla in the song), they are searching out a sacred book called Gideon's Bible (a direct reference to the song), and his best friend is a walrus named Wal Rus (clearly a link to the walrus of 'The Magical Mystery Tour' album). No wonder I always was drawn to the character of Rocket in the comics. Bill Mantlo and Keith Giffen create a magical character and world that was clearly rooted in the Beatles music... which is amazing! So when I came across this great video finally acknowledging the links by mashing up the two... well, I was sold immediately. Animfantastic teams up with Town In The City to produce the video, and while it is silly... who cares? It is a song about a talking Raccoon after all, so isn't is supposed to be silly? Enjoy the mashup after the jump...

The Andre The Giant Show: Episode #2 - Special Guest Pete Holmes

Andre is back on the set of his hugely (pun intended) successful talk show, and this time he is joined by former talk show host and stand up comedian Pete Holmes. Holmes reminisces about the life of a talk show host with Andre, discuss what loving with The Giant is all about, and even compare notes on what Andre's unique voice may be most useful for. All in all another great episode. You can tune in to future episodes by clicking here and subscribing. Also you can find Mike O'Gorman (the star of the show) over on Facebook. Go show him some love and tell 'em CCD sent you!!! Check out the video after the jump...

Super Power Beatdown: Punisher vs Red Hood Take To The Streets!!!!

Super Power Beatdown is becoming a Youtube staple for comic nerds like me, because it gives you an opportunity to see some of your favorite characters from the comics pages face off one on one. Bat In The Sun productions has come a long way from their (amazingly good) Batman fan films. The action of the clips are great, and just seeing two characters you grew up loving battle it out with their specific abilities at the center. There have been a ton of epic ones (Scorpion vs The White Ranger is one) in the series thus far, but the most recent entry is one for the ages. Who would win in a battle of street vigilantes? Red Hood is one of Batman's greatest challenges as an adversary especially because of his bloodlust and quest for revenge driving his mission. And the Punisher... well, he is the Punisher. He Punishes. Well. So if the two met in a dark alley (LOL, this is where they actually DO meet in the video) who would come out on top? I thought the action in this one was well executed, and I really like all the hand gun play. With entries like this, Super Power Beatdown certainly has a bright future ahead. Kim Jung Gi Can Draw Better On The Fly Than You Could Ever Possibly Imagine...

This guy Kim Jung Gi is truly an artist in ever sense of the word. It's not just that his work is top notch (... the finished products are totally amazing!) but, it is his method he uses to create the art work that makes him so special. Kim Jung Gi doesn't sketch anything out and then add details to the drawing, later. Nope, he barely gives a viewer enough time to actually process whats being drawn before it seems to magically appear before your eyes. It doesn't follow traditional artistic method, but there is no arguing with the results. You can see what I mean in the videos after the jump... prepare for your mind to be blown!

The Wolf Of Gilligan's Island

Just when you think that parody mash up videos can't get any better... you get something like this! The Wolf of Wall Street was a great film, and its ad campaign leading up to its release was even better. The company used Kanye West's recently released 'Black Skinhead' at the time to score the commercials for the movie, and it was a pretty great pick of a song. So what happens when you mash that music up with clips from the original Wolf of Wall Street himself, Thurston Howl the III? You get an interesting mash up entitled "The Wolf of Gilligan's Island"! And interesting mix that works out extremely well. VKMTV Studios did a good job with this one... check out the video after the jump.

The Short Film 'Meat' Delves Into The Topic: What Would You Do If You Hit An Animal On the Side Of The Road?

I love to peruse the Internet and find cool short films being made. In this era of cheap cameras and ambitious people trying to make the "next great short" we are gifted with a plethora of videos to watch. But the best place for horror themed shorts is over on FearNet. They post an awesome amount of shorts over there, and if they are chosen to be featured on FearNet then they must be pretty good to begin with. My most recent discovery is "Meat", which is a conversation between two buddies who just happened to accidentally kill an animal with their truck. The resulting film is both funny, creepy and a bit out there... perfect. Check it out after the jump...

The Truck Chase Scene From 'Terminator 2: Judgement Day' Gets A GTA 5 Style Remake...

I was recently discussing Terminator 2: Judgement Day and its awesome special effects over on the CCD Podcast (wink, wink... listen and download!) and how much they hold up over time. For a movie made in 1991, some of the effects look better than movies being made right now. The truck chase scene, filmed on the streets of Cali, is also one of the greatest chase set pieces of all time. It is just smooth, flawless, and nerve racking. And the way Arnold re-loads that shotgun... priceless!   So when I came across John Chapman's Youtube video that used Grand Theft Auto 5 to re-create the scene. well lets just say that I was pretty skeptical it was going to look good. But I was very surprised at just how accurate this video was rendered. It is breathtaking. So you can enjoy both the original & GTA 5 clip after the jump and give your own compare and contrast of them side by side. Nice work...

EmpTV Cribs by Scott DW and the Star Wars Crew

Star Wars videos are hitting the 'net all the time, and some are pretty great. But very rarely do you find the perfect combination of one that looks good and has great original Star Wars themed content... and that comes to us via Scott DW and the Star Wars crew. They create the 'EmpTV Cribs' universe that takes a look at what life may be like for a fortunate Storm Trooper named TK-429 aka Super Nova. He has reaped the benefit of Order 66, and he is living large. His crib is sick, his party guest list is popping... shit, he even got Jabba up in the place! But what happens when my man Darth Vader shows up without his invitation? This is a great video, and the bets part is the guys show a lot of what went into it in the information section on the Youtube video page. Lots of cool things had to happen to make this sweet video, so its nice for them to give the behind the scenes guys so much love. Check out the whole video after the jump...

Wolverine - The Musical !!!

Ya see... all that Broadway acting and those musical roles that Hugh Jackman has taken throughout the years is finally paying dividends. Wolverine is the character that Jackman will always be associated with, but his love for theater and music can finally be brought together with the superhero we all know and love. While promoting X-Men: Days of Future Past over on BBC Radio (on the Matt Edmonson show) Hugh busted down some original 'Wolvie' themed lyrics in a rendition of 'Who Am I' from his other theatrical smash Les Miserable. Can this marriage between the smash mouth world of superhero films and musicals bare any fruit? Maybe... maybe not. But this 2 minute clip certainly entertained me enough to garner my interest. 43 Cartoon Theme Songs Get The Orchestral Treatment From The Carnegie Hall Ensemble ACJW

I am a big fan of cartoons... always have, always will. From my early childhood memories of Spiderman & His Amazing Friends and Thundarr the Barbarian to my recent interest in shows like The Last Airbender and Adventure Time, I have always got enjoyment out of animated shows. But the thing that always caught me, and frankly always catches everyone, has to be the theme song. The theme song is the first chance to capture someones attention, draw them into the show with a melodic tune that will make them want to watch the show. It applies to network TV shows like sitcoms and dramas, and it goes even further with cartoons because the audience is usually being captured at a young age. Those tunes stick with you for life... and make you a life long fan. The Carnegie Hall Ensemble ACJW decided to pay homage to some of those very songs that probably influenced them as youngsters and came up with a pretty cool way to do it. They compressed 43 classic theme songs into a 5 minute video, complete with added animations to help stir your memories a bit about each song. A well done video, and proof that even classically trained musicians know just how important these little diddies can be. And even cooler that it was put out by a classically respected institution such as Carnegie Hall. Check the video out after the jump...

Patton Oswalt And The 'Indi-izer' Save Blockbuster Films From Themselves

Patton Oswalt is Indy film icon. The dude exudes indy cred, and that is probably why he was tapped to host the Independent Spirit Awards. He is also quite hysterical, so in order to promote the upcoming award show he created a short viral video poking fun at the big budget Hollywood blockbusters that the Indy Spirit Awards try to be the total opposite of. The Indi-izer is an Ipad app that allows any huge movie to be transformed into a low budget indy-fest, complete with low cost sets and too much talking. A perfect analogy to promote the essence of the Indy Spirit Awards. Check out the video after the jump...

The Super Mario Brothers Music Done Via Violin ? An Excellent Tribute To The Classic Video Game....

I have a very cool group of Facebook friends that often share a ton of cool things that appeal to my eclectic nerd sensibilities. But every once and a while I get taken by surprise with a share from someone I don't expect it to come from. A friend of mine Cait shared a fellow friends video post in which a young Asian man armed with a violin stands in front of a TV and cues up Super Mario Brothers on Nintendo. The OG version... and then proceeds to use his extreme talents & the solo violin skills to replicate EVERY SINGLE sound in the games first three levels. It is insane how exact he is, down to the brick breaking noise and coin reception sounds. Wow, extremely well done. Thanks for the share Cait.... check out this insane video after the jump...

Is Keyzer Soze John Doe? Is John Doe Keyzer Soze? A Video Explanation By Tony Stark

The Usual Suspects & Se7en were two classic movies that were released in 1995 and share a few key components. Most notably the villain in both films is played by a relatively young in his career actor, Kevin Spacey. Up until that point Spacey had been a supporting bit actor in a few TV shows & movies, but after 1995 he became a much sort after commodity. Both films were created by promising young directors (Bryan Singer on The Usual Suspects, David Fincher on Se7en) early on in their careers, and both featured twisting plots that ultimately lead to dramatic final act twist of events. Epic final act twists... the kind that are legendary in the film industry. Also the kind that pretty much can't exist anymore due to the Internet and the instant fact sharing culture that we live in. So even though the films shared a star and young visionary directors, could they possibly be related in some way? Videoographer Tony Stark put together a rather interesting theory video over on his Vimeo page and for a fan of either (or both) films is a worthy watch. Is it a bit of a stretch and maybe slightly far fetched? Sure... but it is fun nonetheless. Enjoy the video after the jump....

'The Lord of the Crumbs' - A Hobbit x Sesame Street Collaboration

Sesame Street has been educating and entertaining children for over 40+ years, and the way they stay relevant is by taking the pulse of what is popular in the world and relating it to the children they are targeting with their programming. They have done so for years, and continue to do so in epic fashion. In honor of the upcoming release of The Hobbit 2: The Desolation of Smaug, Cookie Monster takes a trip to Middle Earth in The Lord of the Crumbs! Check out this awesome collaboration video that features Gandalf, Galadriel, and many other familiar facets of J. R. R. Tolkien's epic adventure. Sesame Street keeps it going once again... enjoy!

Video Throwback - Robot Chicken: Villain Carpool

Reading Carpool Buddies of Doom the other day really made me laugh... laugh out loud. So I decided to share that over on my Facebook page, and the reaction was great. But in the comments one of my good buddies Edson posted a similar concept that was executed by Robot Chicken way back in 2005. It was called 'Villain Carpool', and featured claymation versions of Cobra Commander, Skeletor, Lex Luthor and Mumm-Ra on a hellish ride to work. They deal with the monotony of everyday life in the only way they know how... by being EVVVVVVIIIIILLLLLL! This is so great.... especially Lex Luthor. He kills. Maybe not the direct inspiration for 'Carpool of Doom' but, a very similarly great idea. I forgot how great of a show Robot Chicken really was. Might have to go back and dig into the crates to see what else they got stashed away....

"You Missed" - A Deadpool Potrait Made Of Ammunition by Mike Oncley

Artist Mike Oncley wanted to create a fun piece of art dedicated to his favorite character, the Merc with a Mouth named Deadpool. So he looked into the character and tried to find something that would represent ole DP in the most positive light. What he came up with is "You Missed", a portrait of Deadpool constructed completely out of real ammunition. Is there truly anything more fitting? This piece is perfect. Absolutely perfect. Not only do we have some great shots of the piece, but also a video of how it was constructed. All in all, a pretty great piece of art. Well done Mike! Check out the full piece after the jump..

The Shining - 8 Bit by CineFix

I am all for 8 bit conversions of anything... 8 bit is a lifestyle, a reminder of an era far gone. But it even cooler when the thing being 8 bit-ified is a classic movie, especially a classic movie that I love! The Shining is one of my favorite Kubrick films, and not because it is so perfect in its adaption of the book or because it is so great... it is just because it holds a special place in my heart. Jack Nicholson is just so creep-tastic as Jack Torreance, and Shelley Duvall is a perfect victim. The little kid is spooky as fuck... and Scatman Cruthers is just icing on the already delicious cake. So when I got to see this awesome 8 bit rendition of The Shining done by CineFix, I was sitting on the edge of my seat. Crazy!!!! Thanks to Tommy Lombardozzi for sharing this. We were lucky enough to get a Friday the 13th NES game and a Texas Chainsaw Massacre Atari game... god I wish this one were real! Check it out after the jump...

"Breaking Bad Meets Seinfeld" by Matin Comedy

Breaking Bad is on the way toward its series finale, and it has been getting more and more serious as the episodes have carried on through this last season. Shit is getting real in New Mexico, and there isn't anything funny about it. Key characters are dead, shit is not looking good for any of the surviving characters, and it is a generally bleak outlook for everyone involved in Heisenberg's inner and extended circle. But that doesn't mean that there haven't been some humorous moments throughout the shows run!!! What about that time Walt threw a pizza on the roof of the garage? Or the time Walt confronted Skylar's boss about the proposed affair he suspected them of having? Those were funny... right? Well they become infinitely funnier when they are set to a laugh track and the funny Seinfeld music is added in. Thanks to Matin Comedy for making these videos and posting them on Youtube. Nice to look at what has become such a dark series in a funny light every once and awhile. It's amazing what a bit of music and a laugh track can do to lighten the mood. Check out episode 1 & 2 of Breaking Bad Meets Seinfeld after the jump...

Ben Affleck On The Internet Criticism Of Being The New Batman - "I Handle Shit..."

For a long time I was one of the dissenting internet trolls who constantly questioned casting decisions. The turning point for me was The Dark Knight... I couldn't believe that they cast Heath Ledger as the Joker, and then he proceeded to kill. So after that I decided to ease off on the critiques till AFTER someone actually performs in a movie and sucks. I have stuck by that mantra for a while... an honestly, things have not stopped on the Internet critiques but they have been much slower since Ledger-gate. Up until last month, when Ben Affleck was cast as Batman in Batman vs Superman. Then the Internet hatred exploded in a way I have not seen in quite a long time. It was epic. Even among my Facebook friends... nobody thinks that Big Ben could be the Dark Knight. But I believe. I truly do. So everyone has been waiting to hear what Affleck himself had to say about the casting and the fallout. And that came to an end last night after Ben appeared on Jimmy Fallon and gave us a glimpse into what its like to be the most hated man on the Internet. Pretty fantastic reaction, if you ask me. Check out the full clip after the jump...
