The ABC's Of Death 2 Gets A Red Band Trailer... Yup, This Looks Even More Fucked Up Then The First One!

Good lawd.... The ABC's of Death was an interesting take on a anthology horror film. 26 directors took there shots in 2-5 minute short film that could be in any medium possible. The only thing they all had in common was that they all were given a letter, and they must chose a word to describe the type of death that would be featured in their segment. Like A is for Apocalypse, B is for Bigfoot... you get the idea. The direct to VOD release was a huge success and the word of mouth behind it made it spread like wild fire. Sure, some of the segments were great and some sucked... they all weren't for everyone. But they were all pretty good, and very original. It was also cool to see all the type of mediums the directors used, as well as the different style of directing from segment to segment. So like any good horror film that is successful, it is getting a sequel. The ABC's of Death 2 features 26 new directors for another trip down the alphabet... and these look even better (by better I mean more bizarre and sicker) than the original. I can get behind this... the film will be released on VOD on October 2nd, and will also have a limited theatrical run around Halloween. Will you be checking it out? The Horror Anthology TV Show 'Monsters' FINALLY Gets A Home Video Release

Wow... it's about time!!!! One of my favorite childhood TV shows is finally getting a box set, and it can't be soon enough! 'Monsters' aired back in the late 80's (88-91) and ran for three seasons ...to a total of 72 episodes. It was conceived in the vein of 'The Twilight Zone' & 'Tales From The Darkside', which it shared a producer with. The show was a week-to-week, self-contained horror fest that featured original stories as well as adaptions from great horror writers such a Stephen King and Robert Bloch. And it also featured a bunch of young actors BEFORE they were famous, such as Steve Buschemi, Tony Shaloub and Gina Gershon. It also featured one of the best introduction scenes in the history of TV... and if you don't remember it, check it out after the jump! Now the show is finally going to get the box set treatment, coming at the end of Feb 2014. I, for one, will be buying this one. I can't wait to share these scares with my 10 year old son.... I was his age when the show aired ...and I loved it. So I am interested to see if he likes it. Check out some clips after the jump...

'Dead Man's Lake' - A Short Film by Bloody Cuts Film

Bloody Cuts Films is a UK based outlet that is in the middle of creating an anthology of short horror movies that are being posted over at their Youtube channel. The coolest part about this whole thing has to be the sheer difference in tone and content of each of the videos in the series they have posted. They are 6 films in to the proposed 13 film series, and the latest entry is called Dead Man's Lake. It has a bit of a twist of the Tucker & Dale vs Evil to it, as well as the elements of 80s camper slashers present as well. Pretty cool horror short from a great group of people over at Bloody Cuts. V/H/S Hopes To Bring Back The Golden Age of Horror Anthology Films

As an 80s baby I miss the days of the horror anthology. At the time we were lucky enough to be blessed with numerous horror anthologies on both TV and on the big screen. TV shows like Tales From The Darkside, Tales From The Crypt, Friday the 13th: The Series, and The Outer Limits were on the air scaring the shit out of me with a different story every episode. Movies like Creepshow 1 & 2, Cat's Eye,  Two Evil Eyes, Body Bags, and film versions of Tales From the Darkside/Crypt all brought the scares to the movie theater and took that extra step that the TV counterparts couldn't pull off. But for a while, horror anthologies went by the wayside. It wasn't until 2007's Trick R' Treat (a favorite of Jeff & I here at CCD) that a meaningful horror anthology hit the screen, and by was it a doozy! That film started the ball rolling on a few more recent projects like Chillerama and even the Grindhouse movie from Tarantino/Rodriguez (when pairing the two movies with the faux trailer mini movies, you get anthology). But now we have a film that is promising to bring it all full circle, and some of Horror's best young talented writers & directors are hoping to make it happen. V/H/S comes to us courtesy of Ti West (House of the Devil), and he is accompanied by talents like Adam Wingard, David Bruckner, Joe Swanberg, and the guys of Radio Silence in this found footage anthology... and boy does this Red Band Trailer look insane!!!
