Already Missing 'Making a Murderer'? Hopefully These Memes Will Satisfy Your Appetite....

Making a Murderer on Netflix is literally ruining my life. I am OBSSESSED with the latest "Netflix & Chill" binge-worthy show and  I am not ashamed to say it. Them boys over at the Red Envelope have truly hit a homer with this one... and as soon as I was done I was pacing, thinking about when the next round of material in this new obsession would be coming my way! Since the first season just dropped on Dec 18th, I am assuming it might be a while before we see Lieutenant Lenk and his band of blood planting buffoons terrorize the Avery family again... so I turned to the Internet for an answer. And as per usual... the Internet NEVER DISAPPOINTS! Without any further ado, here is the Top 10 'Making a Murderer' themed memes that the 'Net has to offer!

Marvel & Netflix Team Up To Change The Game

Good lord... this is a true game changer! Marvel and Netflix have agreed to team up in one of the most ambitious ventures ever announced. The two industry titans have decided to come together and produce 4 individual 13 episode television shows based on the characters of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Power Man & Iron Fist... and then a Defenders mini series highlighting all four characters!!! Holyyyyyy SHIT!!! Are you kidding me? All four series will be set in Hell's Kitchen, NY and will be based in the same universe as the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as well. Good god... the best part is they say "a minimum of four" live action series... could even be more!!! The plan is to unroll the shows in 2015, and given the recent success with Netflix original programming (Orange is the New Black, House of Cards, etc) and everything live action Marvel (movies & the SHIELD TV show) this should go over swimmingly. Plus, I really dig the idea of getting 13 episodes to explore each character in full detail. Than we can bring them all together... wow. This can be so great, and think about how many villains, lesser characters and cameos we can plan on seeing. Check out the full press release after the jump...

Disney Joins Forces With Netflix... Bring It On!!!!

This is one of the greatest pieces of news to come out of the Netflix camp in the history of the company. Disney has had a limited partnership with Netflix Streaming over the past few years, and I have watched a few movies (Princess & The Frog comes to mind) from the studio on the service. But now Netflix has locked up this partnership for the better part of the rest of the decade, and Disney is bringing along the newly acquired Marvel Films & Star Wars franchises along for the ride. How fucking cool is this? First up, I can't wait to eventually watch Clone Wars on Streaming. Secondly, this provides Disney with an outlet for movies that they have put in the Vault, which sucks if you miss out on buying one of these films when they are released shortly. Not to mention Avengers on repeat... yeah buddy! These changes will begin right away, with films like Dumbo, Alice In Wonderland, and Pocahontas starting to stream shortly and more titles to follow over the next few years. Thanks to Deadline for breaking the story. This sure leads me to believe that Netflix will still be getting my 7.99 a month for the foreseeable future. Check out the full press release after the jump...

Netflix Instant Streaming Recommendations: You Need To check These Choices Out

I have long been a supporter of the Netflix Instant Streaming service. With growing competition in the form of other services like Amazon Prime & Hulu Plus, you would think Netflix's time in the sun has come and gone. Fortunately, that is not the case at all. The content available on netflix expands every week and is getting better and better, and and with a price of just $7.99 a month it is a freaking steal. I have been working a lot lately and finally had a day to sit down and watch some of the films in my queue, so here are my most recent recommendations to you. I enjoyed these choices very much, and you probably will too... check out my picks after the jump....

The Bluths Are Back... You Better Get Your Netflix Accounts Right!!!

Arrested Development may very well be one of the all time best comedies to ever air on American television. Anybody who has watched the show knows this to be true. But in that statement lies the problem... Fox constantly moved the show's time slot and it never garnered the ratings that the network wanted. So it got cancelled way before it should have. Ever since it was cancelled, there have been all kinds of rumors of the return of the Bluth family: a series revival, a new network, and even a possible movie. But all of those things proved to be false... Netflix Instant is going to be the platform where we get more misadventures from this classic cast!!! Click after the jump for more details on the announcement...

The Kindle Fire Is Here To Change The World... One Tablet At A Time!!!

November 15th, 2011 may be a day that goes down in history... or at least the history of the tablet wars. Apple is about to get it's first serious challenger in the form of Amazon's Kindle Fire. All of the other tablets that have hit the market so far have been over-hyped and failed to make a dent on Apple's stranglehold on the market. No tablet has challenged the Ipad's efficiency and capabilities, and the Apple App store is just phenomenal. So what makes the Kindle Fire so different? Well, lets talk about that after the jump....

The 2010 Year In Review Meme: Jeff Bond Edition

Here is Jeff's Bonds 2010 Year in review meme... hope you enjoy!

1) 3 Favorite Movie Releases of 2010:

- 'Inception': A brilliant Mindf*ck. Chris Nolan is the director of the decade!

- 'Scott Pilgrim vs. The World': One of the best but, also the most underrated film of the year

- 'The Expendables':  I've been imagining a film including all of the action stars I grew up with for a long long time. The success of this one means that sequels will surely follow with the cast of characters becoming more and more impressive.)

2) Favorite Song of 2010:

'All I Do is Win' -DJ Khaled (This was my 'club anthem' for the year)

3) Favorite Albums of 2010:

'BackSpacer' -Pearl Jam (This album came out late 2009 but, I didn't start playing the sh*t out of it until 2010. Arguably the best PJ album since 'VS.')

Honorable Mentions:

'Flamingo' - Brandon Flowers
'Black Gives Way to Blue' -Alice in Chains (also a 2009 release)
'Blueprint 3' -Jay -Z (also released in 2009 but, didn't get any real play from me until 2010)

4) Favorite "New" TV Show of 2010: AMC's 'Walking Dead'

5) Favorite "Old" TV Show of 2010: AMC's 'Mad Men' (Although it's been on for 4 seasons, I just started watching this summer)

6) Best Purchase you made in 2010:

Lego Mini figures: Such a brilliant idea on Lego's part. One of my favorite things about buying Lego, since I was 4 or 5 years old, is to get my hands on the Mini figs that come with each set. Lego decided to create dozens of Mini Figures and package them separately and enigmatically, like baseball cards,  so that they're a surprise each time. The fun part of this is that it gives Lego the opportunity to release figures like a zombie, a roman gladiator, clown, luchadore or even Dracula that wouldn't be so simple to build a whole series around. Fun to trade with friends...or create an army of clown clones! Pure genius

7) New Technology that you acquired in 2010:
3-D Bluray Player and LED TV. I'm in no way a 'Techy' I'm just happy to move my 29in TV back into the bedroom where it belongs and watch TV like a human after my 48in LCD burnt out 2 years ago.

8) Favorite Film you watched on DVD, Netflix or Cable in 2010: 'Danger: Diabolik'. A MUST see.

9) Celebrity That you loved in 2010 (1 male & 1 female):

Female: Katy Perry...hands down. Coolest chick ever. She makes fun music and loves to dress accordingly. She's got the sense of humor of good pal and even married one one of the coolest guys. You'd think I'd hate him for it but, how could one dislike Russel Brand?

Male: Tom Hardy! You might remember him from small parts in 'Layer Cake' and 'RocknRolla' but his first big film 'Bronson' may have been the most inspired work I've seen in a decade from anyone. In addition he steals the shine from every co-star in every film he's a part of. His character in 'Inception' was so quick tongued and brilliant. Both his style and responses to the press are classic. He's rumored to be off to the new Mad Max film these days but, he's guaranteed the top 'dramatic/action star' seat in Hollywood for an unforeseeable future.

10) Celebrity That you hoped would die in a plane crash (1 male & 1 female):

Female: I gotta say, I'm probably not wishing death on any women this year. Women REALLY have to be up to something paralyzingly obnoxious to make me THAT mad at them because, let's face it, they still have the parts I need! If I HAD to choose, though, I guess it'd have to be Heidi Montag from 'The Hills'. I didn't even remember her name and had to look her up...that's how insignificant she should be to everyone! She makes Paris Hilton look like natural born talent who's famous for doing something in comparison. Her every move is a publicity stunt to keep her in some sort of spotlight. Wishing her death via plane crash is probably something she has planned already, herself, for more notoriety.

Male: Michael Bay...every year...until his demise. That's it. I only focus on 1 person at a time until the deed is done. Ask your friends why Heath Ledger is dead.

Netflix Instant Streaming, I Love You So.... 11/17/2010 Picks!!!

It's another week, so that means chances are I have watched another dozen or so movies on Netflix Instant Streaming this week. The number would have probably been higher, but I am obsessing over the downloadable version of Mike Tyson's Punch Out I order on Virtual Wii and I can't get to the last circuit... damn you Soda Popinski!!!! Anywho, here are a few recommendations from my viewing experience for you to look into. Trust me, they won't disappoint!!!

The Human Centiepede (First Sequence) - 2010

Directed by Tomm Sixx Starring: Ashlynn Yennie, Ashley C Williams, Akihiro Kitamura, Dieter Laser

Good god, thank you sooooo much!!! I have been raving about The Human Centipede for quite a while here at CCD... hell, I may have been one of the first blogs on the Internet to talk about this sick fucking movie (Click here if you don't believe me... Jan 10 kid!!!). The fact that once I actually saw the movie and loved it made me feel good inside. No matter how sick you may find it, to me it was everything and more I thought it would be. Laser is amazing as Dr Heiter, a new horror icon for the 21st century. Tom Sixx has really created a creepy fuck to perpetrate the horrors of this insane movie. Both Ashley C Williams & Ashley Yennie are smoking hot, and Akihiro provides some funny comic ramblings in his native Japanese.... I really don't understand the people who say they didn't like this one. Sure its got a paper thin plot, it's medically inaccurate, and its a stretch. It's a movie about assholes being sewn to mouths... what the fuck did you think it was going to be, Casablanca??? If you haven't seen it yet, give it a whirl. Trust me, you might find it fun. This is the best addition to Netflix Instant Streaming since the put Black Dynamite on.... can you say modern day Grindhouse double feature with The Human Centipede & Black Dynamite??? I can... and will!!!!

My Newest Netflix Instant Streaming Obsession: Afro Samurai

I am completely addicted to Netflix Instant Streaming... there is no news in that at all. But the reasons I love it so much are do to its overwhelming amount of content that is interesting to me. Maybe everyone else would find this stuff wack, but I am digging it. There is so much great content out there that gets missed during its intial run. Thats why instant streaming/on demand is so great. It lets you catch up at the click of a button.

Case in point: Afro Samurai. This anime mini-series is a homage to the hip hop culture that Japanese creator Takashi Okazaki loved so much. So he combined elements of the traditional anime fare (swords, blood, ultra violence) & American urban elements (guns, hip hop music, modern slang and language) to come up with this 5 episode mini series masterpiece and its follow-up, Afro Samurai: Resurrection. Add in an all star voice cast (Samuel L Jackson, Ron Pearlman, Phil LeMarr, John DiMaggio, Lucy Liu, Mark Hamill) and you got an excellent combination. I implore you to check out Afro Samurai Season 1 and Afro Samurai: Resurrection if you love things like:
  1. Swordfights that lead to unreal deaths.
  2. Teddy bear masked samurai
  3. Robot clones that fight like T-100's
  4. Feudal Japan & Futuristic Japan mashed up.
  5. A lead character with a sick fro working out Asians constantly.
  6. Sam L Jackson's voice... love it.
  7. Rza's music (he does all the music, and its great.)
  8. Ghost/Spirit sidekicks that smoke pot and talk shit
  9. A man hellbent on revenge that stops at nothing... except lemonade. He stops for lemonade (don't ask, just watch)
  10. Blood.... lots of blood.

And that's just in the 1st 5 episodes!!! I have included this clip to help encourage you a bit more. Hope you guys like it.

You can catch both editions of this fine animated series on Netflix Instant Streaming, so make it happen. This is what streaming is made for. Do you guys like Afro Samurai? Anybody else love it as much as me? Tell us in the comment section below. Later... I got programs to watch!!!

Netflix Instant Streaming Picks Of The Day - 8/23/2010

Hey guys, here are some of the cool movies and TV shows that I have been watching on my Netflix Instant Streaming. What have you guys been watching? Have you seen these picks, and do you like/hate them? Let us know in the comment section below. Happy viewings!!!

The Crew (2008)
Directed by: Adrian Vitora
Starring: Scot Williams, Kenny Doughty, Stephen Graham, Rory McCann

This is yet another British crime caper, and I stand by my theory that British crime movies blow doors on American films in the same genre. This is another crime team movie in which an esemble of rouges lead by Ged Brennan hijacks trucks for a living. His younger brother, Ratter, wants to take The Crew in a different direction, exploring the up and coming drug trade. Ged wants nothing to do with dope, because it is far to risky an enterprise and there are other gangsters in town that do not welcome new competition. Couple that with mob boss Franner (Stephen Graham, Tommy from Snatch) interested in how the brothers are strating to fight amongst themselves, will The Crew make it through??? Check this one out if you like films like Heat, Rock-n-Rolla, or Snatch.

Super Mario Brothers Supershow Season #1
Starring: Captain Lou Albano, Danny Wells, tons of guest stars from the 80's

I have a 7 year old son, and I find it hysterical that he is enamored by the new Mario Brothers game on Wii. Since he loves the game and the characters so much, I thought he might like the show... and I was right. This show featured Lou Albano as Mario and Danny Wells as Luigi in a live action segment to start the show. They always get into some sort of shenanigans to start the show. Then it cuts to an animated segment of the show which features the adventures of the Brothers with Princess Peach and Toad against Bowser. There was also a cool Legend of Zelda cartoon that would air on Fridays. Then it would wrap up the show with the live action portion coming to a close. The skits always featured cool 80's icons like Lyle Alzado (NFLer), Nicole Eggert (Charles in Charge), and Sgt Slaughter (WWF and GI Joe). He loves the show, and it was cool to see this show again after all these years. The cartoons hold up very well, and they are super cool.

Don't You Forget About Me (2009)
Directed by: Matt Austin
Starring: Ally Sheedy, Mia Sara, Judd Nelson, Emilio Estevez, Roger Ebert, Andrew McCarthy, Kevin Smith

This documentary focuses on the career of John Hughes, the film director responsible for the best teen movies of the 80's. Ferris Buellers Day Off, Sixteen Candles, Prtty In Pink, Weird Science and The Breakfast Club are the definitive movies for a generation of teens and still are considered to be relatable after almost 25 years. The filmakers do a great job of interviewing former cast members from Hughes's classic films and try to reconnect with the recluse director who disappeared from public life in the over 10 years ago(his last interview was in 1999) They try to travel to his hometown in Illinois to get him on camera for an interview and culminate the whole documentary process. Will they succeed? Hughes died a short time ago, so this doc serves as a great compliment to a stellar career. A must for al 80's babies and fans of his work.

Netflix Instant Streaming Picks: 8/13/2010

Hey folks, I'm backkkkkkkkkkk!!! Believe it or not, my Wii has not burnt out yet from Instant Streaming Netflix... I know, I know, I am shocked as well. But I am truly enjoying my time off this summer by immersing myself in the massive selections offered from Netflix. Here are a few I think you should take the time to check out:

Rampage - 2009

Ok, so you must discount a few things before you watch this one. First of all, this is a Uwe Boll is the director. I know that might automatically turn you off (if you have ever had to sit through the drudge that is a Uwe Boll movie you would understand) but this time it is different. Uwe embraces his love of video games and creates a scray look into what can happen when a regular person loses his shit and can not take it anymore. A few orders from HSN and sometime building a bulletproof suit, and they are fully ready to unleash hell on the unsuspecting townsfolk in middle America. Brendan Fletcher has been in a ton of Uwe Boll shitfests, so his patience finally pays off with this great portrayal of a 20 something kid who just loses sight of reality. Tons of violence, and the senseless kind... which is the best, isn't it? Thanks to our girl KMG for the recommendation.
Gangster #1 - 2000

I have a confession to make. My name is Mr. Mike D, and I absolutely love English Cinema. Love it... can't get enough of it. Those blokes across the pond just have a way with movies, especially crime capers. The Krays, Rock n Rolla, Layer Cake, Snatch, Lock Stock, The Football Factory.... these guys really get the crime movies down pat. Paul McGuigan outdoes himself with Gangster #1... hands down. I liked his other films (Lucky Number Slevin, Push) but this 2000 movie ranks up in my top 20 all time. There are millions of reasons why, but the 3 that stand out the most are: 1) Malcolm McDowell and Paul Betanny 2) The story spans 30 years, and you feel like you know these characters by the end of the movie, and 3) these English motherfuckers are ruthless... a hatchette, really??? Anyway, you need to make this happen, as well as all of those movies I mentioned above, because if you like gangster movies than English Cinema is a refreshing break from the Italian gangster and latino drug dealer movies we get over here.
Time After Time - 1979

For my last pick of the week, I thought I would take it back a tad. This 1979 thriller features the comprobable Malcolm McDowell (I know, two movies with the same guy... so what, he is a genius!) as author H.G Wells. Wells is considered by most to be the father of science fiction, and in this movie he actually creates a time machine like the one from his classic novel (and the Guy Pierce movie). After showing his house guests his new invention and being dismissed by them as crazy, the cops show up at his door. They have figurd out the mystery of Jack the Ripper, and the killer is one of his guests. As they look around, they realize one of the guests is missing. As the people chalk it up to a mere escape, Wells knows better. He goes to the basement, and the time machine is gone. But it suddenly reappears, without Jack the Ripper, because if you time travel without the key it automatically returns home. Wells gets in and follows the coordinates that Jack used, taking him to 1979 San Fransisco. Trying to hun the killer in a strange time and place makes the job even tougher, and since late 70's America is so violent ole Jack fits right in. Can Wells find Jack and bring him back to 1893 England for justice??? Watch the movie and find out.

Thats all folks. Happy viewing!!!! What are you guys watching... tell us in the comment section below!!!

Netflix Streaming Picks of the Week - 7-16-2010

So heres what I been watching all week on Netflix Streaming thru my Wii. I suggest you check these titles out immediately, or pop em in your instant que and get to them when you can!!! Thats the best part about Netflix Streaming... it's there whenever you get to it!!!

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo -

Let me start off by saying that this movie is in Swedish with subtitles... I know I just lost a few of you guys right there. But for those who have stuck around, you are in for a treat. This awesome psychological thriller is right up there with Silence of the Lambs... totally crazy!!! The title actually translates to "Men who hate women" so there are some pretty graphic domestic violence scenes, and the film explores some really dark themes. Noomi Rapace provides an amazing performance as Lisbeth Sadler, the tortured girl who plays the title character. Try to catch this one  before the American remake comes out... or read the book, which I'm sure was awesome. There is also two additional sequels in the "Millenium" trilogy. Enjoy kids...

Step Brothers -

This is why I love Netflix Streaming... they mix in some a ton of new titles with the older ones in the library. I watched this movie last night, and its better everytime you watch it. John C Reilly and Will Ferrell are perfect in every way. I personally love the uncomfortable scenes between John C Reilly and Kathryn Hahn, especially when they are having sex... hysterical. Plus, Reilly and Ferrell are perfect together... if you want to laugh, watch this puppy!!!

Monsters Inc.

Perfect. Pixar. Movie.... nothing else to say. If you haven't seen this yet, get it done. There really isn't a better kid/cartoon movie out there. A perfect voice cast, spectacular graphics, and a great story... make it happen, captain!!!

So, what are you guys watching??? Any suggestions for us... please leave them in the comments section below!!! Thanks.

Pick #3 - Charade - This classic was added to the Netflix Streaming pool not so long ago, and its movies like this that make me a movie fanatic. I love older films, especially anything that features Audrey Hepburn. She is truly one of the most beautiful actresses ever, and I love watching her whenever I can. Throw in Cary Grant, Walter Matthau, James Coburn and some hidden money... and well, you got yourself a winner. Trust me kiddies, this is how movies should look and feel. Pure perfection.
