Ahhh... the magic of the Internet! What a great tool, especially for people who like to dot their I's and cross their T's as much as I do! Having read The Walking Dead comics and being an avid fan of the TV show I love the little differences and substitutions between the two. Things that happen to certain characters are swapped, story lines are co-mingled, and the overall narrative tends to blur from time to time.... but no matter what, the gist of the original story is conveyed and the show always circles back to the books origins. I am always interested to see when and where the writers on the show will come back to the original narrative when they deviate... especially since the creator/writer Robert Kirkman is so closely associated with the shows journey. Thanks to the good old folks at Reddit (and its original source location), we can give people who didn't read the original books a glimpse at where the original ideas for some key moments in this seasons mid-season finale started out from. Check out these 8 GIF images after the jump...

Butcher Billy Gets His GIF On Using Your Favorite Video Game Characters
Butcher Billy is a very interesting artist to say the least. He has clear pop culture roots that find a way into all of his work, yet his love for classic art and non traditional displays make his mash-ups quite interesting to say the least. he doesn't think twice about using a Nintendo character and and artist like Lichtenstein to bring an art piece of his to life. His latest project is a GIF series featuring various classic 80s video game characters mashed up with some cool alternate pop culture movies & music. Schwarzenegger as Donkey Kong? Akira & Pac Man? Hipster Ghosts & Goblins? These are just fantastic. My boy Jeff dug these up, and given the fact that today is his birthday I thought it would be fitting to post them up. You can check them all out in their GIF anaimated glory after the jump and even see some instances of them being used as street art. You can also buy these awesome prints in a variety of mediums, such as T shirts or I Phone cases, by clicking here. Enjoy!!!

Calvin & Hobbes: The Video Game by Johan Vinet
I have always had a soft spot for Calvin & hobbes, Bill Waterson's wonderful comic strip. I am not nearly as huge of a fan as my boy Joe Esq may be, but I know that lots of people have love for the little boy & his imaginary tiger. So whenever I come across something cool featuring these great characters, I have to post them on CCD. Artist Johan Vinet creates an excellent 16 bit version of the dynamic duo if they had been the lead characters in a Sega Genesis game, and the results are stupendous. After the jump, check out both a GIF and full video version of the opening title card from the faux game, and take a trip down memory lane with two of the best comic strip characters of all time.
