Marvel Zombies Fan Made Trailer

Believe it or not, there was a series of successful mini-series based on this exact premise. All the Marvel heroes have become zombies and are eating each other. It's as gruesome as you would hope for and something that was a nice shot of creativity until they basically beat the concept to death. But after watching this trailer, I would totally watch this film. Release it next Halloween and it would be bigger than the microchip. These covers of iconic Marvel moments in all their gruesome zombie glory are by Arthur Suydam. He really found his groove with these ones.

Halloween Movies For The Scardy Cat In All Of Us

After reading Brother Tim's review of Lost Boys I was thinking about some of the films I would recommend for any Horror Film Fest. Now you have to remember that I am like a frightened little girl when it comes to scary films. I like my scares to be a bit safer than the poor souls who get hacked up by some chainsaw wielding maniac after taking a bad turn down a back country road. Torture Horror is also a part of the genre that I avoid except for the first Saw movie which I found to be ground breaking. Most people have a limit as to violence and gore and I chose my list with that in mind. There will scare, disturb but in the end you will have fun with your loved ones. I hope there is at least one in the group you have not seen.

Batman Noir by Henrik Sahlstrom

I am always on the look out for dope version of my favorite character, Batman, from talented artists around the web. I found a great set of noir styled pics over at Cal's Canadian Cave of Cool done by artist Henrik Sahlstrom. There are four so far in the series... Batman, Cat Woman, and then two of my favorite villains in the Rouge's Gallery: Joker & The Riddler. These are really dark and beautiful. Thanks for another great find Cal. You can see much more of Henrik's work over at his Deviant Art page. Check after the jump for the full set...

Canadian Delicacy Comes To McDonalds

Poutine is a Québécois dish consisting of gravy and cheese curd over French fries. It’s popular in Canada, where it’s eaten as fast food and a comfort food. McDonald’s restaurants in Quebec sell it. But now the company plans to make poutine available in all McDonald’s outlets throughout Canada. A serving will cost $3.99. Check out more pics after the jump...

Carpool Buddies Of Doom by Justin Jordan & Rafer Roberts

Web comics are killing it right now... and why wouldn't they? They are super easy to upload and distribute to the masses, and once one gets a bit of traction on Reddit, Tumblr or one of the other sharing websites it just tends to snowball. Last week we highlighted a killer take on Batman called The Deal, and this week we take a funny look at 'Carpool Buddies of Doom'. Carpool Buddies focuses on the daily commute of two of the worst villains in the history of comics, Thanos and Darkseid. It is smartly written by Justin Jordan and illustrated by Rafer Roberts. Pretty great... and in the second installment they throw in Doctor Doom to the group to make things even funnier! Great find by my main man Cal, and I will certainly be looking out for more to come from the duo on their site. Check out the first two installments after the jump....

Variant X-Men Covers By Julian Totino Tedesco

All New X-Men has been a book that has been intriguing me for a bit now. Started about a year and a half ago, it tells the story of the original X-Men team of the 60s coming forward in the future and interacting with themselves (and other current X-Men) in order to help stop a potential disaster from occurring. It has recently lead up to the company wide crossover 'Battle of the Atom' and it is supposed to be fantastic. One of the coolest aspects of the books are the little winks and nods to the original OG series... some subtle, some obvious. So here are a few variant covers of issue #18 that kind of parody an original cover of the old X-Men, except these variants all feature different groupings of mutants to fill out their rosters. Pretty cool stuff, and a book that I plan on checking out now that they have a few issues under their belt (and are appearing in trades!) Check out all the variant covers after the jump...

Halloween Hangover - Massive Halloween Image Blizzard

Halloween has come and gone, and boy am I sad. It is by far my favorite time of year and definitely my favorite holiday. So as I sit here a few days removed and anticipating another year of waiting for Halloween 2014 to come around, I lean towards my Canadian brother Kal for images to put a smile on his face. He is giving us one more Halloween/Horror themed post, and Image Blizzard to usher in the winter season! Check out the pics after the jump and have one last scare filled hurrah!!!!

Lego Haunted Houses By Mike Doyle

Just in time for Halloween, artist Mike Doyle has created these beautifully detailed Victorian mansions out of nothing but Legos. He uses no outside materials when creating these houses, and one house can take up to 600 hours to make and uses 130,000 pieces to build.

Doyle says about his work that they "speak to the inherent unpredictability of those things which we call our foundation." He also mentions that "the piece offers no answers or necessarily any hope, but rather points to life’s fragility."

The Pumpkin Rules The Season

Of all the symbols of the Halloween season that I love, the Pumpkin has to be my favorite. Whether they are just un-carved and looking beautiful with their orange skin, or carved with spooky faces and lit up in Jack-O-Lantern form... nothing says Halloween more than them. Check out a gallery of pumpkin pics after the jump...

Seasonal Packaging

I can't believe how many products have suddenly become so Halloween friendly. I am not complaining. I wish everything had a special Halloween package like all the Christmas stuff I have to endure once Halloween is over. When even the Root Bear sells out to THE MAN, you know that everyone in Madison Avenue have gotten the message. Check out some of the really cool packaging that is on store shelves right now after the jump...

The Frankenstein Files

We can always count on our buddy Cal to bring us some awesome images no matter the topic... but when it comes to Halloween it seems his image stash is even more plentiful. This particular post focuses on the big lug of Halloween... Frankenstein's Monster. I always loved him, all the versions that we have seen. Whether it be the lumbering, unintelligent version who moaned through the Universal classics or the highly intelligent versions like Johnny Lee Miller payed on the English stage directed by Danny Boyle (thanks for that ticket Jeff Bond... still one of the greatest things I have ever seen!). Check out the pics after the jump....

Haunted Places by Daniel Danger

My good buddy Cal from North of the Border sent me a very cool collection of art from a guy named Daniel Danger that was featured on horror blog Trixie's Treats. Danger has a plethora of work under his belt, but his specialty seems to be capturing the magic of haunted places. Spooky houses, desolate areas, and outdoor locales are done in epic fashion by Danger... and truthfully I am getting into the Halloween spirit just looking at them! I went over to his Tumblr page and found some great ones to share with you CCDers. Thank to Trixie for posting so Cal could see and then share with me... From the well know locales to the anonymous ones, you will like them all... trust me! Check em out after the jump...

Captain Canuck - The Web Series

Leave it to our Canadian correspondent to find Internet gold while patrolling the Interwebs at all hours of the night. Meet the Mighty Maple Leaf himself, Captain Canuck! This looks like a cool concept and an even cooler looking cartoon. I for one will be anticipating the upcoming episodes. And I really like the Platinum Blonde song at the end. That is 80s Canadian music at it's finest.

The Best of Kurt Russel By Chris Weston

Kurt Russel is basically the bad ass of all 80's bad asses. Sure Sly, Arnold, and Bruce Willis all had their defining moments during the decade... but in truth they can't hold a candle to Kurt in his holy trilogy of bad assdom: The Thing, Escape From NY, and Big Trouble in Little China! UK Artist Chris Weston decided to give little homage to these classic roles of Russell, and boy did they come out great. Check all three of them out after the jump... and make sure you check out Weston's site by clicking here and seeing all the great stuff he has done. Enjoy...

Wolverine Evolution by Olivier Fritsch Gomez

Wolverine has seen many incarnations throughout the years since he first appeared in Incredible Hulk #181. It has been a long road since 1974, and James Howlett has certainly had a plethora of looks and costumes throughout the years. Artist Olivier Fritsch Gomez decided to make a run at documenting all the ways Wolvie has looked through the 35+ years he has appeared, and it took him 5 FULL PRINTS to do the job!!! You can catch all 5 of them after the jump... and you will be blown away at all the looks of Wolverine you have probably forgot! Remember Wolvie in a Tux????

Postma Does Spider-Ham And The Fantastic Fur

We have been running Phil Postma's stuff here for quite a bit, but honestky speaking his work keeps getting better and better. His ideas are always refreshing and his execution is always spot on. I mean c'mon... Spider Ham? How classic is that? We all love his stuff, and happy to share it with you....

The Walking Dead Monopoly And RISK

What? No TOP HAT? I refuse to play unless I can be the magic hat. Carl's hat is okay, I guess but I will be the phone that Rick listened and talked into to but was never hooked up. Some very detailed pics of both games after the jump... so what are you waiting for???

Barn Bocock's Corporate Star Wars Logos

Barn Bocock has been rocking out some great designs for quite some time. The guy runs one of my favorite blogs, How To Carve Roast Unicorn, which features many cool things... among them Bocock's integrate designs. Some of my faves have to be his Star Wars designs. He incorporates Star Wars characters and modern corporate logos. These are a few of the best ones. Great way to re-start our world take over here at CCD. Check em out after the jump...

No Matter How You Dress Them, They All Come Out Looking Like Super Girls To Me

These are some spectacular examples of all that is right in the world. Back in the day, hot chicks would not even want to be associated with something as geeky as comic book culture. Now, everybody wants in... even the hotties. Need proof? Check out these scores of prime booty who decided to model some comic book based clothing in some... interesting ways! Very geeky, yet very hot... check em out after the jump!

Phil Postma Is Starting A Mad Monster Party & Your Invited!!!!!

Brother Postma is back with a further demonstration of his enormous talent and imagination. He has taken the classic Mad Monster Party characters and returned them to their monster movie roots. I have long championed his work because he needs to be working in Hollywood doing design work. There is no style of animation that he cannot take and make better.
