Now This Is A Ridiculous Sounding Movie That I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE: 'Zombeavers' Are Coming For You !!!!

Listen, I have sat through my fare share of nonsensical movies. I watched Ozombie, a film about Osama Bin Laden coming back as an undead zombie, more than once... yup, that is a factual statement. I actively sought out Ishtar to see what everybody was complaining about... It wasn't that bad after all. I also consider more than 5 Troma movies as classics, even though most people couldn't get through 5 minutes of them. I am a sucker for bad movies! So when I saw the trailer and poster for Zombeavers I knew I had a new project to check out. A bevy of youngins head into the woods to a cabin for weekend of sex, drugs and drankin. They only problem is the kill a beaver that gets into their cabin, and that sets off a series of events that brings them face to face with a clan of zombie infected beavers... yup, I just typed that. Zombie. Infected. BEAVERS!!! Jesus CHRIST! Beavers... this is genius. Even the poster and it's tagline are fabulous. "Zombeavers: You'll All Be Dammed!"... Yup! I'm in, how about you? Check out the poster and trailer after the jump..

Zombie Wedding Timelapse

I am currently planning my own wedding and meeting with all the different vendors (florists, photographers, DJs, etc) sucks balls. Then after you pick a particular vendor, these fucks expect you to pay them for their services... wtf? Anywho, I am of the opinion that if I book them to work my wedding than I will have them doing anything I want to. ANYTHING. Especially the photographer. It's good to know that I am not the only person who thinks like that. Josiah is a Geekologie reader who just had his wedding. He decided to have the photographer take a picture of him and his new bride taking on the wedding party as if they were flesh eating zombies, with the intention of taking that print and then photoshopping it into a zombie masterpiece. The results are absolutely fantastic! Check out the picture and a cool ass time lapse video of the photoshop process from Josiah himself. Great work Adam. Now if I can just get Tara to agree to posing with the wedding party like Alex Ross's Justice cover....

'Apocalypse Pizza Video' by Andres Fernandez

Even if their were a zombie apocalypse, people would still have to eat. And what do people love to eat more than pizza? Not much... and what goes great with pizza? How about a video!!! Check out this animated short called "Apocalypse Pizza Video", which shows some enterprising young Parisians making the best of their bad situation and servicing the Paris area with pizza at a time of crisis. This is an extremely well done short by director Andres Fernandez, and I especially love the song selection at 2:15 seconds (wink, wink). Click after the jump for the full video...

Marcellus Wallace Vs A Zombie Tiger... Yup, I Just Typed That Headline

What the fuck is going on in the world? My man Ving Rhames is a very accomplished actor. Extremely accomplished. Like award winning and widely recognized from being in a ton of excellent movies accomplished. Yet he continues to work at a early 2000's Samuel Jackson type pace, making all types of films. Some good. Some great. And some where he fights Zombie Tigers with a sledgehammer. Yup. Zombie tigers. Sledgehammers. Marcellus Wallace. This happened in 2012: Zombie Apocalypse. You probably shouldn't watch the whole movie (I can't fucking wait to see this one!), but you can see the big bad Ving Rhames taking on the aforementioned Zombie Tiger after the jump....

Zombified The New Yorker Cover by Brian Cook

I grew up looking at the wonderful covers of The New Yorker Magazine with a combination of wonder and awe... I was to young to understand the content of the magazine that my grandmother always had in her living room, yet I was always drawn to the fabulously painted covers that were always visually stunning. Imagine my suprise when I passed by Brain Cook's blog and saw this awesome Zombified New Yorker mock up cover. It was just great, and it brought me back to the old days again. You can click after the jump to see the full color version as well as some preliminary sketches Brian posted...

2011 Halloween TV Schedule

Halloween tends to get the shaft when it comes to TV specials when compared to the juggernaut that is Christmas. But every year our favorite hallowed holiday makes some strides and we see more and more themed programming throughout October.

I am a Halloween junkie so I will watch anything related to the holiday. No matter how lame the show is, and outside the realm of something I would normally watch. All they have to do is throw on an orange font they have got me on the line. While I love horror movies, I love them all year, so I specifically look out for shows that have a literal Halloween theme. (Click after the jump to hear more...)

Crazy Horror Cosplay From The 1st Annual Calgary Horror Con

I came across these excellent cosplay photos from the 1st Annual Calgary Horror Con, which took place on Oct. 1st and 2nd. I am all about the cosplay, but whenever you get sexy versions of these scary characters it just amps up the appeal of the pics! I only have one questions:  How come our Canadian correspondent Cal from the Cave of Cool didn't tell us about this one? Check out all the great pics after the jump...

'Juan of the Dead' Looks Like Alot Of Fun... I Just Wish It Had A Better Title

The preview trailer for 'Juan of the Dead' is making its way around the internet. It is being dubbed as "Cuba's first horror movie" and it looks like a hell of alot of fun. But the title is terrible. Its a complete rip off 'Shawn of the Dead', which itself was a play on 'Dawn of the Dead'. Not to mention that countless other low budget zombie movies that have "... Off The Dead" in the title. So this is a rip off of a film title that itself was a play on words. For something that looks so well shot and interesting, it sure seems pretty generic. The trailer still looks quite fun. Thanks to /Film for providing the trailer. Shitty title or not, I am checking this one out!!!!

'I'd Buy That...As a Tee!' Vol 14 by Jeff Bond

Summer it is!..... and I could use a few new unique t-shirts to really make a statement without saying a word. A statement like "I'm a geek that doesn't take much of anything seriously...I'm approachable and easily abused."

Here's some of the t-shirts I have my eye on to do just the trick but, there's only one problem....they aren't for sale yet! Please click the links below to the Threadless.com (my favoritest and most user friendly t-shirt contribution site) voting pages for each and give these beauties '5' ratings so I can throw 'em on my charge card one day.

'Mr. Brain Freeze' is a Batty villain of super-sized Slurpee proportions! Drink at your own risk.

'The Untold Origin of the Smoke Monster'...c'mon....you know you thought about it too.

There's a little bit of everything Star Wars in 'FashioniSTAR'.....I see C-3PO junk, R2 bits, Wookie scalps, litesabers, Leia hair etc...

The 'Make Your Franklin' Project Lets Artists Redesign The 100 Dollar Bill

This is a very cool communal art project that allows artists from around the world to recreate America's 100 dollar bill in a way that they feel is better served then the old Ben Franklin. The results were amazing and very representative of the many walks of life that the artists come from. You can see all of them by clicking here. Here are a few of my faves. If only our money really looked this cool!!!

So, The Walking Dead Season 2 Is Shaping Up Rather Nicely

The first photos of the zombies that are plaguing the gang in The Walking Dead season 2 have surfaced... and boy oh boy, these scary mofo's look wonderful!!! Despite rumors of all the writers being fired and massive budget cuts, it seems to be (from this one photo anyway!) that the show is right on track.

I didn't really understand why AMC would mess with the show period though... it doesn't make much sense, does it? This is a network with two of the highest regarded dramas that currently air on TV (Mad Men & Breaking Bad) and successfully cultivated another hit out of a zombie plague comic book series. These guys at AMC have been right time after time (except for Rubicon... I want the 10 hours I gave up to watch that piece of shit back!!!), so I would let them do WHATEVER they want with their shows. Lets just keep this one on the up and up, ok? Because The Walking Dead is one of the best shows on TV... period.

Win A Copy Of 'Can You Survive A Zombie Apocalypse?'

Ever since I was a kid I have always been a fan of the 'Choose Your Own Adventure' series of books. I recently discovered that the library in Bay Ridge has all the old classics that got me through elementary school. But my good friends over at the awesome blog Zombies and Toys are trying to take us to the next generation of these self propelled stories and I for one can not wait to give it a shot!!!

This is the very cool looking 'Can You Survive A Zombie Apocalypse?' written by Max Brallier. It is in the vein of the old "Choose Your Own Adventure" books and is capitalizing on the whole zombie movement going on right now (Zombies are in... Vamps & Werewolves are so last year). You can win a free copy by clicking here and following the prompts at the bottom of the post. Tell them CCD sent you... who knows, maybe they will pick one of our guys to win (wink, wink!!!).

Zombies + Vacation... Ok, I'm In

Check out this wonderful trailer for the upcoming Dead Island video game from Techland/Deep Silver. A zombie attack at a island resort? How can this be bad? Check out this reverse order trailer that follows one family during the attack. It is great:

There is also this version of the trailer, that actually puts the order of events from the trailer in the correct order. Here you go:
