Fab Ciraolo has a very unique style to his art. It is batshit crazy... and that is what makes it so fantastic. Fab takes very familiar characters (some real life people, some fictional) and portrays them in a different light. A light that may not be what you expect. When I think Beetlejuice I think a black and white striped suit. He Man, bearskin draws and his chest straps jump into my head. Marilyn Monroe is always in a puffy dress in my head. Mother Teresa is always in a habit... But not in the world of Fab Ciraolo. here, Frankenstien is a part animal club kid. Marilyn & Mother Teresa are hipster chicks with tats. Beetlejuice channels his inner James Dean. He-Man is an avid golfer. These are so great. There are tons of his works available for you to see on his website (click here and see it all!), and see some of my faves after the jump...

Masters of the Entire Universe by Anthony Petrie
Thundercats & He Man both share a very special place in my heart. As a child of the 80's, these two cartoon/toy lines figured prominently into my daily activities. Sure, GI Joe & Transformers were very popular as well, but they couldn't hold a candle to Thundercats & He Man. Lion-O & Prince Adam are both vulnerable young men who are struggling with their calling as heroes. Skeletor & Mumm-Ra also provided excellent villains to serve as a foil to these young shining knights, doing their best to cause trouble whenever they could. Man at Arms & Panthro were the go to gadget guys, not to mention the bad ass backup. They both drove dope trucks as well. And Tela & Cheetarah could both get it... Yeah Buddy! Anyway, when I saw this beautiful poster put together by artist Anthony Petrie (click here to check out his site, its bananas) I was brought back to my bedroom at age 5, surrounded by the residents of Eternia & Third Earth. Wow, These Crazy Ecuadorians Really Know How To Party On New Years Eve!!!
When my boy Edson sends me an email with a tip for CCD, I usually pay close attention. This is exactly the reason why. Edson sent me this crazy email from over at io9 (damn corporate blogs with their funding and their traveling staff... wait, what?) about the practices of people in Ecuador prior to the New Year. In villages all over the country the people construct huge paper & wood figures known as "Anos Viejos" (Old Years) to be burnt in celebration of the change in calendar. But here is the thing that makes these paper constructs so fucking cool... they make them in all types of images, especially nerdy fanboy faves!!! Don't believe me? See for yourself... click after the jump to see some of the geekiest "Anos Viejos" from this years New years celebration...

Tarantino's Thundercats: Thunder, Thunder, Motherfuckin' Thundercats, Ho!!!

Check out artist Andy Hunter's idea for what a Quentin Tarantino helmed Thundercats movie might look. This one is wonderful, and you know that QT would definitely get Samuel L Jackson to voice my main man Panthro and Uma Thurman to play Cheetarah.... check out the poster after the jump.

The New Thundercat Cartoon Is Looking Better & Better With Each Preview We See
I have seen and covered multiple preview clips for the new Thundercats reboot cartoon that is premiering on July 29th, and I can honestly say that every thing that I see from the cartoon looks very impressive. I am a fan of the Japanmation/Anime twinge that Cartoon Network took with this cartoon, and I feel the characters are all shaping up to be awesome. Couple that with the fact that they included Snarf, yet made him unable to talk (anybody who has sat through some episodes of the old show as an adult knows how annoying Snarf can be!) seems to be the capper for me. Just as I was getting ready for the show to premiere in two weeks, my boy Lockheed sends me another 10 minute preview that shows a ton of new footage. Here it is for your viewing pleasure, courtesy of AOL TV. I will be watching this one... how about you guys? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below.

Panthro Hits The Late Night Circuit
I know this clip is from last week, but it got lost in my inbox and I never watched it till this morning. Say what you want about Jimmy Fallon, but he is a true 80s baby and always reps for my age bracket with things that call back to our childhood. Here he features the black Thundercat Panthro singing the Thundercats theme as a lounge singer, accompanied by The Roots & two hottie dancers. Pretty good makeup and funny stuff. Enjoy...

The New Thundercats Show Is Shaping Up Nicely....
In case you guys missed it (like me), about a month back the folks over at Cartoon Network released a 2.5 minute trailer for their upcoming Thundercats cartoon series. I liked the anime style look of the characters that was released last year, so I was looking forward to this one. See the footage for yourself:

'I'd Buy That...As a Tee!' Vol 10 by Jeff Bond
Summer is just 'round the corner and I could use a few new unique t-shirts to really make a statement without saying a word. A statement like "I'm a geek that doesn't take much of anything seriously...I'm approachable and easily abused."
Here's some of the t-shirts I have my eye on to do just the trick but, there's only one problem....they aren't for sale yet! Please click the links below to the Threadless.com (my favoritest and most user friendly t-shirt contribution site) voting pages for each and give these beauties '5' ratings so I can throw 'em on my charge card one day.

Finally, This Is What Wily Kit & Wily Kat Will Look Like In The New Thundercats Cartoon (Maybe...)
These are the toy mock ups for the youngest Thundarians out of the group, Wily Kit & Wily Kat. The twins were missing from some earlier leaked drawings from the new show, but if this toy is any indication than this is what they should look like. It fits well with the heavy anime styling that they have chosen for this reboot. What do you guys think about these wonder twins? Tell us in the coment section below. Thanks to Topless Robot for the information.

Thunder, Thunder, Thundercats... Ho???
Sooooo.... the long awaited first pictures of what the Thundercats will look like in their new cartoon series from Warner Brothers has hit the net.
I don't know how I feel about them. I have some likes and dislikes, but first lets get a bit of the press release:
There is also this image, which is slightly less official (and not as sharp):
I don't know how I feel about them. I have some likes and dislikes, but first lets get a bit of the press release:
Roaring to life through WBA and Studio4°C’s use of the Japanese animated artistry of anime, “ThunderCats” characters Lion-O, Mumm-Ra, Panthro, Cheetara and others will spring off the screen with realistic cat-like characteristics inconceivable in previous incarnations. The new “ThunderCats” will appeal to viewers who have loved the characters all their lives as well as young newcomers to the franchise. A sweeping tale combining swords and science and boasting ferocious battles with the highest of stakes, the grand origin story of Prince Lion-O’s ascension to the throne – and of those who would thwart his destiny at any cost – takes on epic dimensions in this sharp new telling. As the forces of good and evil battle each other in the quest for the fabled Stones of Power, Lion-O and his champions learn valuable lessons of loyalty, honor and mortality in every episode.
There is also this image, which is slightly less official (and not as sharp):
Here are my likes and dislikes:
Likes:
- I like the anime type styling of the characters... it's an upgrade on the original designs while also staying true to the overall original appearance of all the characters shown.
- They did not feel the need to include Snarf or any of the bad guys in the initial preview art. The bad guys are usually the coolest, and Mumm-Ra was the coolest of all the characters. On the other hand, Snarf sucked donkey dick and I would prefer that he was left out totally... but since he has to be in it, lets keep his appearances to a minimum.
- The suits got an upgrade... more of a old school, medieval look to them (especially Panthro & Lion-O)
Dislikes:
- How low do you want to make Cheetara's top? WTF... this is a cartoon. She got huge cat tits. Wait, on second thought, this will lead to all types of sexy ass chicks cosplaying this costume at comic cons for years to come.... on second thought, move this to a like instead!!!
- Why the fuck does Tygra have a gun? That's kinda gay.... no? He got his bolo, Cheetara her staff, Panthro his nunchuks, and Lion-O with the Sword of Omens. So why add a gun to the mix... is this something that he always had an I am blocking?
- Where the fuck is Jaga & The Twins? Why not add them? Why hold them out when you speak of them in plans for the show?
- What is up with Panthro's mutton chops? He looks like Hellboy.... corny. I liked my black Thundercat with a smooth dome piece... but hats just me!
What do you guys think? Tell us in the comment section below.

Custom Painted Kicks From Across The Pond
My god these are some fine ass hand painted Nikes if I have ever seen 'em... these are killers. Artist Daniel Reese and the guys over at Brass Monki in England are painting just about whatever your little heart desires onto some White on White Dunks, and they are doing it well. Now although Nike and other companies frequently feature sneakers that are "inspired" by a character or movie, Brass Monki will give you the specific details from any inspiration you may have. Check those "Ultimate Captain America" joints above... briliant!!! Here are a few of the designs that I liked the best. Click the link above to see the full selection, and even send them an email with what you want and they will do it, no prob. But I hope you ready to get that dough up, cause most of these first class pieces of art for your feet will cost ya about 400 pounds (like 600 dollars US)... art don't come cheap, know what I mean? Which ones do you like the best? What would you get on your kicks? Tell us in the comment section below.

Thunder, Thunder, Thundercats... Ho!!!
Holy. Fucking. Shitballs... sorry, but it has been a longtime since I have been this excited about something cartoon related. It's not that I don't watch cartoons... quite the contrary, I spend many hours a week watching cartoons. But at 31, I am just not that excited by news of new cartoons... but this is not just any cartoon. This is one of my HOLY TRIUMVARITE OF 80'S CARTOONS ( along with He-Man and Voltron). Thundercats was far and away one of my all time favorites, and now the series is getting a reboot/new series on Cartoon Network. The creators of Batman: The Brave and The Bold (which I love) and the upcoming Young Justice are teaming up with the animators of The Animatrix and Batman:Gotham Knights to release a updated anime style version of the show. No words yet on the storyline the series will follow, but the pic above of Lion-O is the sole piece of concept art released so far. And I fucking love it. Batman: Brave and The Bold is one of the few newer cartoons that I absolutely love, and if these guys can get this one right I will be eternally greatfull!!!
Rumors have been circulating about a new TV series or movie in the past few years, but nothing had ever come of it... except this crazy fan made trailer for a fake Thundercats live action flick starring Brad Pitt as Lion-O, Vin Diesel as Panthro, Hugh Jackman as Tygra... when I first saw it, I instantly picked up on the parts of Troy, Chronicles of Riddick, and X-Men that the fan sampled, but I still thought it was really cool. But now we have a great new show to look forward to. Enjoy the fan trailer and be on the look out for the new Thundercats cartoon on the Cartoon Network sometime in 2011.

Like! Like? Volume #1
In the 'Legend of Zelda' game for the original Nintendo Entertainment System, there were these little evil-doers which resembled a delicious stack of buttery pancakes and whose sole mission were to suck you dry of a hard earned weapon you had just paid mucho rupees for. These fortunate little bottom-feeders were called Like-Likes. That is why I decided to name a new feature article I will be preparing for 'Cultural Compulsive Disorder' after them. Like the fortunate bottom-feeder that I am, I will be scouring the blogosphere for loosely related images, video clips, and articles that I found interesting, exciting, or maddening on other blogsites. Things that someone else has, no doubt, painstakingly worked on for weeks, even months, yet I will show no remorse in borrowing from them and regurgitating on C-C-D, for you guys to appreciate as well, with all due credit given to it's origins, of course. Things that they liked...and I like...so I'd like to see if you like. So without further ado, I give you the first installment of "Like-Like?"

Amimated He-Man Vs. Lion-O .....Like! Like?
Artist Jared Stumpenhorst has been creating a work of LOST art everyday for the past 63 days and will be doing so until he has 365 works of art. This is LOST art #59 Benjamin Linus. ....Like! Like? Some excellent video game console modifications compiles by WebUrbanist. ...Like! Like?
Gemma Aterton from 'Clash of the Titans', 007 'Quantum of Solace, 'Prince of Persia: Sands of Time' and now starring in my dreams nightly ....Like! Like? That's it. Quick and painless and you still even have your shield. Like! Like?
