It is the age old question that DC Comics and Marvel Comics fans toss at each other like grenades... who would win in a fight, Hulk or Superman? Most people are quick to offer an answer, but if you really delve into both super heroes invulnerability powers and epic strength it becomes a much harder question to ponder. A few years back I posted a crazy CGI fan film that put the Green Monster vs the Kryptonian Madman, and it points out just how hard it is for either dude to win. But it is fun to see others opinions on the situation, and who better to weigh in on this than one of CCD's favorite comic artist, Invincible's Ryan Ottley. Ottley is a fantastic artist, and one of his latest posts to his Deviant Art page (click here to check his Deviant page, it is pretty amazing) tackles the subject in a way that I certainly didn't expect. Do you think Ottley picked Hulk, or Supes? Here is a hint: It plays out the way I WOULD HOPE IT WOULD.... Check after the jump to find out for yourself.

My Parents Were Cool, But Not This Cool...
I had great parents that encouraged all of my idiosyncrasies and afforded me great things (like comics & toys) throughout my childhood. They allowed me to do what I wanted with my room, and I often decorated it with the things I loved (mostly comics & toys.. lol). But Joe Fletch sent me a Reddit thread that blows doors on anything I ever had as a kid... and it comes courtesy of a great dad that should be commended for being so creative. This dude turned his son's bedroom into Avengers Central, with all four corners of the room embodying each of the Big 4. They all have a corner, and each is cooler than the other. The Cap corner has his signature shield, Thor's corner has Mjolinir, Hulk's corner has his terrifying scowl, and Iron Man has his signature helmet. There is also a Stark Industry bookshelf, a hidden Ultron visage, a Iron Man suit breaking through the wall, and so much more.... really great! Parents need to pay attention, this is how you do it! Check out the pics of the room after the jump...

Marvel Robots by Keanu 432
The robot has been becoming more and more prevalent in pop culture. Yup, everything has its way around. Vampires were hot about 5 years ago, then zombies. It is the robots time to shine. Pacific Rim, Transformers 4, Almost Human... yeah, its time for the robot overkill. Enter artist Keanu 432, who decided to re-imagine some of the classic Marvel characters as if they were robots. You certainly get the feel that this is how they would look if they were robot like beings. These are quite good, and he has other cool stuff over at his Imgur page. Check out the Marvel Robots after the jump...

Alter Egos by Coran 'Kizer' Stone
It is always interesting to see another artists take on a character, specifically when they make it their business to redo a bunch of characters that are really well known and loved. Deviant Artist Coran 'Kizer' Stone has done just that, and he is doing God's work. His Alter Ego series takes on not only the hero version that we all know and love, yet also feature their regular everyday personas as well. It is nice to see and artist's take on the cool details of a hero, but that is done over and over. Very rarely do you see an artists show us the regular side of the larger than life characters we all know and love. Thanks to my main man Cal for putting me on to this guy. Check out more at his Deviant Art page and my personal faves after the jump...

Cool Down Your Drinks Super Hero Style With Marvel Ice Trays
Whenever I see products like this it reminds me of what my house would look like if I had infinite disposable income available to by nerd shit. My house would probably look a lot like Jon Lovitz's house in The Benchwarmers, when he grows up from nerd to millionaire and has an R2D2 butler and shit. That would probably be expensive, but here is a little piece of nerd houseware that anybody could probably afford. Marvel Comics themed Ice Trays!!!! For a mere 10.00 bucks or less on Amazon you can own either the Spider Man set or the set featuring The Thing, Hulk, Iron Man, and Cap. Either set is great, but I am leaning towards the multi hero one as better. Check out the pics after the jump...

Evgeny Yakovlev Mashes Up Your Favorite Geek Properties
Evgeny Yakovlev is a talented artist out of Kazkahstan who has a very unique talent of pairing up two awesome geek properties in his fan art to make for some dope pieces. Some of them are a given (like Wolverine & Edward Scissorhands), but some are just special (like Captain America & Night At The Museum). These are great. You can see more of his work right here, but my favorite four appear after the jump...

Silhouette Super Kids by Andy Fairhurst
Lots of artists draw superheroes... nothing new there at all. But a good artist finds a niche way to make those famous heroes their own, whether it be a certain look that they give them or a certain medium that they draw them in. Andy Fairhurst's subjects may be familiar to you, but the way he chooses to convey them are quite unique. He uses a silhouette style to bring out the characteristics of the subjects, and he also chooses to portray them as kids. He has a series of 12 of these, which I included after the jump. But he also has lots of other great artwork, so click here to check it out...

Two 4 Thursday: Fan Made Movie Posters For The Avengers & Wolverine
Lets start Thursday off right with a couple of really cool fan made movie posters celebrating upcoming flicks from Marvel comics. The team at Marvel have a pretty solid track record when it comes to flicks (minus Electra, almost every film they have released is at least watchable), so to see artists put their own spin on some of the more anticipated titles soon to come from the House of Ideas is quite awesome. First up we have David William's take on The Avengers, putting forth a very Superhero Squad type vibe on the Big 4 (Iron Man, Cap, Thor, and The Hulk). Then we have NJ Ferns taking on Wolverine 2 aka The Wolverine, the sequel which sees Logan battling his way through Japan. Both of these posters are bad ass, and make me want to see these movies even more (as if I needed anymore reason to see these...) Check the posters after the jump...

Nobody Loves The Hulk by The Traits
I was over at Electronic Cerebrectomy (a really cool personal blog run by Samurai Frog that you guys should check out by clicking here) and he posted this awesome 60's rock song from The Traits about Marvel's Big Green Machine. I have always loved The Hulk, ever since the old school TV show used to be on channel 11 every afternoon in re-runs. This song is a lot of fun and shows the cool side of Marvel for allowing this song to be made as a licensed product. I also love the music video that was created for Youtube because it features many of the classic Hulk covers from throughout the years. A very cool way to spend 3 minutes today, especially if you love The Hulk as much as I do. Check out the video after the jump...

Finally... The Avengers Truly Assemble!!!
It's about fucking time!!! After about seventy five different cuts of the trailer, tons of international trailers, fan made trailers, and other types of video clips... we FINALLY get a chance to see the full Avengers squad ACTUALLY FIGHTING in the new trailer just released today. Yup, the whole crew. We get to see a transformed Hulk wrecking shit and doing his best Willie Mays impression (you will get the analogy after you watch the trailer), Hawkeye being athletic and shooting his bow, and Iron Man/Cap/Thor kicking each others asses in typical in-fighting fashion that has always taken place in the pages of the Avengers. My only question is what the fuck is Black Widow going to do with a snub nose 9 millimeter handgun against intergalactic enemies? Maybe Scar Jo just plans to smother the invaders in her ample boobage.... now that would have made the trailer complete, no? Click after the jump to see the newest trailer...

Josip Kelava Takes On His Favorite Heroes & Villains... Typographical Style
Josip Kelava likes to make fan art. Nothing really special about that in itself. But when your creations look as cool as these 8 typographic pictures do... well, the they are definitely special. Kelava hits up some faves (Batman, Master Chief) and some of the more obscure (Evangelion Neon Genesis?) but they are the ones he loves the most. You can click here to see more of Josip's art, and see all 8 pieces here after the jump...

What Are You Thankful For: Superhero Toy Edition

It's Just Some Random Guy has made some great videos in the past (click here to view his Youtube channel) featuring Marvel & DC Comic character toys... some of them are down right hysterical. But this year Random Guy decided to check in on some comic book heavyweights and ask them exactly what they are thankful for. The result is a pretty fun filled clip. Avengers Assembled
I remember when I first started hearing the rumors back in 2007, that the upcoming "Iron Man" movie was going to have a cameo appearance by Nick Fury, played by Samuel L. Jackson, that is going to set up for an Avengers movie............Suuuuuuuuuuure. Now first, I didn't believe it, and second, even if they did include said scene, ain't no way in hell they are gunna be able pull off that kind of big plan.
But here we are, 5 movies later, and less than a year away from an unprecedented comic book movie event. Here's a look a the character posters they unveiled over the weekend at SDCC all together as one giant banner of nergasm.
Click the pic for a big version. I'll let you guess what my current wallpaper is.
Aside from a few bumps (I really wish that was Edward Norton) Marvel looks like they may actually pull this off. An ensemble comic book film, all with predefined singular experiences, helmed by Joss Whedon, one of the best ensemble and genre handlers out there today. Holy crap I say.
I have enjoyed all the movies thus far, as good, fun, "comic book movies." I am eagerly awaiting this. If it doesn't go any further after, I'm totally fine with that, because as I said, I never would have believed it would have even made it this far.
What do you guys think? If the world does end late next year.....are we good?
