The Ladies Of DC Comics Take A Trip Back To The 1940s Thanks To Ant Lucia

Ant Lucia is an accomplished artist that has a dope website and very unique style to his pieces. He gets the 'pin up' feel to everything he draws, and the realism in his work is balanced out by the fun nature of the characters poses and surroundings. It is not so serious, which makes all that he does really dope. Case in point: Check out his new series of DC Heroines and Villains with a 1940s feel. These are perfect, and the setting and background that each character is placed into fit wonderfully. And the ladies... well the ladies are looking pretty spectacular themselves. And the coolest part is the website QxM is offering these prints in a huge 18 x 24 format for a mere $ 14.95 !!! That is really cheap considering how big that print is. There are 10 all together, but some are available for purchase now and some are just available for pre-order to be shipped down the road. Either way, you can't go wrong for 15 bucks.... you can click here to check out the specific page on QxM to order Lucia's DC Bombshells, and you can view them all after the jump....

J.E. Mark Takes Batman' Rogues Gallery And Makes Them Real...

I love fan art, especially fan art that depicts the residents of Gotham City. But my man J. E. Marks has taken the Bats villains to a new height with his realistic illustrations of the Rogue Gallery. These versions of Poison Ivy, Joker, Penguin, Riddler, Mr. Freeze and Harvey Dent make my skin crawl... they are so realistic and life like, and yet they highlight the comic attributes that we know and love about these characters so much. I think my fave may be the Penguin, even though she is probably my least favorite villain of the group. Mr. Freeze is pretty amazing as well. Check out more of Mark's work by clicking here, and see the best of the best after the jump...

Silhouette Super Kids by Andy Fairhurst

Lots of artists  draw superheroes... nothing new there at all. But a good artist finds a niche way to make those famous heroes their own, whether it be a certain look that they give them or a certain medium that they draw them in. Andy Fairhurst's subjects may be familiar to you, but the way he chooses to convey them are quite unique. He uses a silhouette style to bring out the characteristics of the subjects, and he also chooses to portray them as kids. He has a series of 12 of these, which I included after the jump. But he also has lots of other great artwork, so click here to check it out...

Daniel Scott Gabriel Murray Makes Digital Art Come To Life...

I read a ton of websites everyday and find a lot of the content that I post here on CCD from fellow bloggers who have a keen eye for awesome. When it comes to the comics, one of the best sites on the web has to be It's A Dan World.  Yesterday he featured an artist by the name of Daniel Scott Gabriel Murray and some of his many interesting digital creations. I then decided to dig a bit deeper and check out Murray's website to see if he had anything else worth posting... boy, that is an understatement! My man Dan has tons of cool art on his site, and he features a bunch of the more obscure characters  that I always like to see mixed in with the typical favorites. All artists can conceptualize a Batman piece... but can you take on The Shadow (Sam, the Shadow piece after the jump is for you)? Check out my favorite pieces of Mr. Murray and tell him that CCD sent ya...
