OHC's of the Day: 2013 New Network TV Stars Edition

It has been a while since we have done a Obscure Hot Chick of the Day pictorial spread here on CCD, so given that this is the new TV season and there are a ton of hotties starring in new shows I figured it was a fitting topic to bring back our old favorite story topic. I think you lovers of newly unveiled hot TV starlets will appreciate this one. I threw in 6 of these (probably) unknown actresses on this list for you to become familiar with... but I am sure they will be household names soon enough.  Check out all the pics after the jump...

OHC of the Day: Willa Holland

Willa Holland is no newbie to the game of Hollywood. Not by a long shot  So why is she todays Obscure Hot Chick of the day? because she is finally coming into her own by playing the sister of Oliver Queen, the title character of the new CW hit Arrow. Funny thing is that Willa is basically Hollywood royalty. Her step dad is Brian De Palma... yup, that Brian De Palma. She has been acting for quite a bit, playing Mischa Barton's little sister on The O.C. and as a guest star on Gossip Girl. She has also been in some films, like the remake of Straw Dogs (really good flick) and Legion (another pretty good flick). Those films did not have an overwhelming amount of success, so people may have missed the lovely Willa. But if you tune in to Arrow you will see her as Thea Queen, aka Speedy, and all of the beauty that she has to give. I am interested to see if Thea will ever develop into the 'Speedy' of the comic books, aka Green Arrow's sidekick. But with eyes like that and a smile that sparkles, either way as long as i get more of her I will be totally happy. enjoy the pics after the jump...

CCD Links It Up - Vol #10

It has been a while since I checked in with you guys and hit you off with some cool links to help you waste the days away at that shitty job you hate so much. Or maybe you love your job but just love you some cool ass links. Either way, you got some good stuff coming your way. You can check out the original script for Prometheus (It was a fucking prequel in every sense of the word prequel Jeff... hahaha Fletch). We got some Gangnam Style Ghostbusting, a cool ass story about Eli Roth teaching unsuspecting villagers about film with one of the most controversial cannibal movies of all time, and a look back at Sarah Wayne Calles when she was an Obscure Hot Chick of the day here on CCD (way before Prison Break finished and The Walking Dead started). OHC of the Day: Jenna-Louise Coleman

If one wanted to become an It-Girl in the entertainment world right now then the best thing to do is get your geek cred up. Get in a super hero movie, on a sci fi themed show, or something like that. For todays Obscure Hot Chick of the Day Jenna-Louise Coleman the answer was simple: How about doing both!!! Jenna was seen in a small part in last years Avengers lead up Captain America: The First Avenger (she was Bucky's date in the beginning scene at The World Fair) and is all set to begin the role as the good Doctors newest companion Oswin Oswald on the Seventh Season of Doctor Who. She has big shoes to fill when it comes to being the Doctors companion... Amy Pond & Rose Tyler (Karen Gilliam & Billie Piper in real life) were both iconic sci fi TV women characters, and they were quite sexy as well. I think Coleman can do both, especially the sexy part. Those eyes... wow, those are the eyes of a star. Due to the crossover popularity of Doctor Who in both England & America I am sure that when her run on the show is over she will move on to bigger and better things... for now, the adventures traveling time & space await. Not bad for the chick who dates Robb Stark (Richard Madden) in real life. Now if she could only steer him away from The Twins and that damn wedding (wink, wink for all you Game of Thrones readers out there). check out the pics after the jump...

OHC of the Day: Paulina Gretzky

When you have a dad that is nicknamed 'The Great One' and a godfather that is known as the savior of hockey in New York City, you certainly come from good stock. Such is the case with Paulina Gretzky, daughter of Wayne Gretzky & god daughter to Mark Messier. But when I say she comes from good stock, I had no idea that just because her father was the greatest hockey player of all time he would sire one of the hottest creatures on the f'n planet!!! Youngster Paulina is pretty hot, but is also quite talented. She is a classically trained singer and has her first album coming out on Universal Records later on this year. She is also about to make her movie debut in Grown Ups 2, and despite the fact that I am not looking forward to that steaming pile of shit as a movie I am looking forward to seeing Paulina and her twin boob cannons in that green bikini that leaked in the set photos this week (yup, its after the jump!). She is also making the rounds in all the lad mags and uses her Twitter & Instagram for exactly what they were intended for... posting nearly naked bikini pics of herself and her drunken hot friends. OHC of the Day: Caity Lotz

Caity Lotz is the prototypical OHC. For one, she is certainly obscure. Obscure means that you probably don't know her, but she is vaguely familiar to you because you have probably seen her somewhere before. She has appeared on mainstream shows such as Mad Men & Law and Order, as well as genre fare such as MTV's Death Valley. And she is definitely a Hot Chick. A super f'n hot chick. I love that she has freckles and that she doesn't always use makeup to cover them up. Plus she seems to be very comfortable in a wife beater and panties, sans a bra... which is always a plus!!!! She is such a prototypical California Girl in every sense of the word, with the legs that are never ending and the hair as blond as gold. When Jeff Bond sent me this suggestion, her name was familiar to me because I have been hearing some good things from her latest horror film called The Pact that will co-star Casper Van Dien. The film is getting meh reviews, but everyone is loving Caity's performance... and why wouldn't they? Lotz also has a ensemble film called Live At The Foxes Den (co starring Elliot Gould, Jackson Rathbone, and Pooch Hall) & a mysterious project called Planet B Boy with Lost's Josh Holloway (this one sounds interesting). Given her start as a back up dancer for Lady Gaga, I am sure she will hold her own alongside Sawyer himself. Enjoy the photos after the jump....

OHC of the Day: Lucy Griffinths

Lucy Griffinths is the quintessential OHC candidate. OHC stands for Obscure Hot Chick, and Lucy is just that. It is not that she hasn't been working... oh that is not the case. She has had featured roles in two prominent British mini series (The Little House & Collision)  as well as a starring turn in the BBC's most recent production of Robin Hood. She is Maid Marian on the show, and she is a sexy bad ass that compliments Robin very well. For those of you who have never seen the series, go search it out. It is one of the better Robin Hoods ever. But all the Obscure stuff that exists about her stateside is about to go right out the window, as she is set to be the most notorious newcomer on Season 5 of True Blood. She is set to play Nora, a vampire on the show. But it is the character of Nora that will elevate her to stardom, because of two reasons: 1) The character was not from the books, she is made up for the show. This will probably cause a stir among fans. 2) The character will be the sister of Eric Northman (fan fave Alexander Skarsgard), so if she is on screen with the big viking she will sure to get some shine. It doesn't hurt that she is pretty beautiful with some of the best eyes I have ever seen. You may not know her yet, but you will real soon....

OHC of the Day: Megalyn Echikunwoke

Megalyn Echikunwoke is the kind of actress that always drives me crazy. I feel like I have seen her in a million things and then when I check her IMDB I see that it is not as many as I remembered. I first got a glimpse of this African/Irish beauty when she starred as the grown up version of Isabelle Tyler on the very underrated 4400. That show was awesome, and Megalyn had a lot to do with that. She also had recurring roles on CSI:Miami, the new 90210, and  24. But lately I have been seeing ALL OF HER (she is naked... a lot!) on one of my new favorite shows, Showtime's 'House of Lies'. She is starring opposite of Don Cheadle, and she is a highlight on a very well executed show. If you are not watching this, you should be. This show is on the cusp of becoming Showtime's next break out hit. She also has an indy movie called Damsels In Distress that has been garnering all types of positive reviews due to megalyn's perfomance amonst a cast of hot young stars (Analeigh Tipton, Greta Gerwig, Adam Brody, Carrie MacLemore, etc). Get familiar with Megalyn in the photo collection that comes after the jump... and also look for a suprise link down at the bottom of the group!

OHC of the Day: Alexis Knapp

How do you raise your profile as an actress and get on the tip of the tongue of all the guys who celeb watch for new hotties daily? Well for one you could bang a celebrity and get pregnant with their love child. That usually does the trick. Or you can star in a highly anticipated comedy that is generating major buzz, like Emma Stone in Super Bad or Kat Dennings in The 40 Year Old Virgin. Or if you are Alexis Knapp, you could do both!!! Alexis, a former model, started to garner some attention when she began dating Ryan Phillipe, Mr. Studio 54 himself. They broke up, but afterwards Alexis found out that she was carrying Ryan's seed. She had the beautiful baby this year, and now she is back on her grind trying to get her acting career going. Now for the second part... she is starring in the upcoming Project X!!! Plus, I hear that there is a nudie scene in there... so that is always a plus. She also has filmed So Undercover with Miley Cyrus & Jeremy Piven and Pitch Perfect with Brittany Snow, Anna Kendricks, and McLovin himself Christopher Mintz-Plasse. With Co-stars of that stature she is sure to start garnering her own attention soon. Remember where you seen her first... right here as an Obscure Hot Chick on CCD!!! OHC Of The Day: Michaela McManus

It's backkkkkkkk!!!! OHC is back on CCD!!!! For those of you guys that don't know, OHC stands for Obscure Hot Chick. This is where we highlight the hottest up & coming actresses who you may have seen somewhere before but are about to become very recognizable. due to new projects they have coming out. Today we are highlighting the lovely Michaela McManus!!!

McManus got her start in acting a few years back on One Tree Hill where she played the new girlfriend of lead character Chad Michael Murray. It always seemed as if the casting directors of One Tree Hill always found hotter and hotter actresses to add to the already smoking cast of the show, and with Michaela they really hit the jackpot. The season long stretch on the show helped her parlay a few parts on CSI:NY & Law & Order SVU, as well as shows like Castle, The Vampire Diaries, and Hawaii 5-0. But now she is poised for her breakout year, as she is currently starring in the much lauded 'Awake' on NBC with Jason Isaac, and she has two movies on deck (About 50 & Funeral Kings) the latter of which is getting major buzz heading into South by southwest this year. The Heard Is The Word!!!!

My main man Cal from the Great White North sent me a crazy batch of pics featuring one of my favorite young actresses, Amber Heard. I have featured pics of her before (back when she was an Obscure Hot Chick) and I think she is absolutely gorgeous, so it really was a no-brainer for me to run this post immediately. I like the fact that Ms. Heard is rocking some crazy curls in these pics, a stark contrast to her usual straight hair. But let's be honest, I'm not really concerned with this beauties hair. OHC of the Day: Emily Vancamp

I don't know what it is, but people often criticize the WB for the shows they put on the air. They might not be the best shows on TV, but here is the truth. The shows always stay on the air for at least 2-3 seasons, and the cast of the shows usually go on to get starring roles somewhere else down the road. One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl,   Dawsons's Creek... a sick track record of success. Enter Everwood, an interesting cheese-fest of a show that ran a total of four seasons. One of the young stars of the show, Emily Vancamp, was a ray of sunshine... it was only a matter of time before she would have her chance to shine. She did a few small movie and TV roles (she was in The Ring 2 & a cool apocalyptic movie entitled Carriers) and then it happened: ABC cast her as the lead in Revenge, their modern day re-telling of The Count of Monte Cristo. Since The Count is my favorite book, I was skeptical... but honestly, I have been blown away by the show. It is by far the bets new show of the season. Oh, and there is the whole fact that she is ridiculously hot... check after the jump for more pics of the lovely Emily.

OHC of the Day (All Horror Week Edition): Alexandra Breckenridge

When I decided to pick an OHC (obscure hot chick) to be featured during All Horror Week, I tried to think of who to pick. No one better fit the profile of a sexy scream queen such as Alexandra Breckenridge. Alex plays the sexy your version of Moira the maid on FX's breakout hit TV show 'American Horror Story'. She drives the shows main male character, Dylan McDermont crazy with her skimpy outfits and sexual advances. I can't get enough of her in those garters! You may recognize Alexandra from last season of True Blood (she played one of the people in Marnie's coven) or you may recognize her voice from the hit animated show 'Familty Guy'. Either way, after the success of American Horror Story we are sure to see much more of the sexy starlet. Lets just hope she keeps the red hair and garters intact!!! OHC Of The Day: Hayley Atwell

God love the British and their never ending stream of hottie actresses. I can't get enough of the UK's young up and comers, and Hayley Atwell is no exception. She made a name for herself acting in a few TV movies across the pond (those things are huge over there) and I first seen her in last summers 'Pillars of the Earth' mini-series (which was unbelievable and a must watch). That role garnered her a Golden Globe nomination and probably helped her secure the role of Peggy Carter in the upcoming Captain America: The First Avenger. Being in a huge Marvel Comics movie is sure to pump up her exposure, and I am sure she will figure into sequel plans for what is sure to be a franchise in the making. The buzz on the movie is that it is great and may end up being the best of all the superhero movies released this summer. I am not sure how true that will be, but one thing is for certain: Captain America is sure to feature one of the hottest girls on the planet!!! I'm certain Ms. Atwell won't be an Obscure Hot Chick for much longer.

OHC of the Day: Rosie Huntington Whiteley

Oh, you Brits and your unbelievably hot women.... how I envy you so!!! Imagine the pressure of having to fill the huge sex symbol heels of Meagan Fox in your first movie. What if you don't pull it off? Well, no worries. Even though you may not know Rosie Huntington Whiteley name just yet, her role as an Obscure Hot Chick is sure to be short lived. She was hand picked by Michael Bay to relieve Fox of her eye candy duties in the third installment of the Transformers series, Dark of the Moon. She lights up the screen and I can honestly say had me in awe (mouth hanging open) while watching the movie. She is gorgeous. A former face of Burberry and a full fledged Victoria Secret Angel, Whiteley is making the jump into acting full time. She reminds me of Cameron Diaz in the Mask... lets see if she has the staying power that Diaz has had. She certainly has the body & beauty to do it.

OHC of the Day: Missy Peregrym

My name is Mike D, and I have a problem. I am addicted to gymnastics movies. Ever since I was a little kid I have been obsessed with films and TV shows that center around gymnastics. One of my older sister Oona's favorite movies was American Anthem, and I have a weak spot for these type of films ever since. Back in 2006 a movie called Stick It! came out, and I saw it. The lead actress was Missy Peregrym, who played Haley. I loved everything about this girl from the moment I laid eyes on her. She was gorgeous, she had an attitude, and she had that certain"It" quality that made you want to see her in other stuff. Even though that was the first time I remember seeing her, she had many TV credits dating back as far as 2000. Some of these included Dark Angel, Andromeda, The Chris Isaak Show, Smallville, and Tru Calling. She also may be familiar to fans of the show Heroes for portraying Candice Wilmer, who was a badass. After those roles she had a starring role on the very underrated Reaper (it's on Netflix Instant... watch it!!!) and is entering her second season as Andy on ABC's summer hit show Rookie Blue. The new season starts June 23rd... and I will be watching!!! Keep an eye on this beautiful young lady. She has plenty more starring roles to come.
