Eli Roth Wants To Take You To 'The Green Inferno'... I Don't Know If I Want To Go!

A few years back, I had the opportunity to cross a movie off my 'never saw' list that I had been desperate to see for many years. 'Cannibal Holocaust' is a legendary horror film from the early 80's that I had never seen, and it was legendary in stature. Why? Well, for one, the movie is supposed to be one of the most horrifying movies ever filmed! It is so convincing that director Ruggero Deodato was brought up on charges, in his native Italy, because prosecutors were POSITIVE that people actually were killed in making the movie. Yup... he had to produce the (still alive) actors as proof that it was all movie magic. Now that's something I had to see! And I was getting to see it on the big screen at NYC's Sunshine Cinema. How lucky am I? The answer was not very lucky at all. Not because the movie didn't live up to the hype... it did. It was amazing! But it haunted me, down to my core. The creepy music, the horrifying visuals, and the gore all got me deep down... and scared the absolute fuck out of my wife as well! My buddy Jeff Bond and his lovely lady Bri were all blown away by the flick too. It was a very fulfilling experience. So you can imagine how my interest peeked when Eli Roth announced he was throwing his hat into the cannibal film genre. He announced 'The Green Inferno' (which also happened to be the original title for 'Cannibal Holocaust') and planned on shooting it down in Peru. He also found a little tribe in the forest that had NEVER BEEN FILMED before and were willing to participate in the movie. It is about to get real... and with the movie magic we possess today I can't wait to see what he can fool us with. The movie will be arriving on September 5th, 2014... but you can catch a glimpse of the first trailer and movie poster after the jump. Lets see if Eli Roth can pay homage to a classic and still create his own unique cinematic memories...

Hemlock Grove: Netflix New Horror Original Horror Series From the Mind Of Eli Roth

Being the horror buff and streaming enthusiast that I am, I  always peruse the new horror choices that are on (and coming soon too) Netflix Streaming. When I caught wind of Hemlock Grove, a new series from the mind of Eli Roth based on a novel by Brian McGreevy, my interests were instantly piqued. I had read that Netflix was delving into fielding original programming, so when rumors began to circulate around Season 4 of Arrested Develoment & Kevin Spacey's House of Cards I realized that the plan was actually coming to fruition. But the thing that made me more intrigued by hemlock grove is the fact that it is horror based... and that is enough to push it to the front of my list! Eli Roth, like him or hate him, is one of the main horror masters working Hollywood today. So with the recent success of horror themed shows such as American Horror Story & The Walking Dead, I am eager to see what Eli does with the freedom of Netflix at his fingertips. But what has to be the best part is that all the episodes in the first season will be available AT ONE TIME, on April 19th. I can't wait to marathon the shit out of this one. Check out the trailer after the jump. Famke Janssen is looking extra hot, especially in monster form...

It has been a while since I checked in with you guys and hit you off with some cool links to help you waste the days away at that shitty job you hate so much. You can check out the original script for Prometheus (It was a fucking prequel in every sense of the word prequel Jeff... hahaha Fletch). We got some Gangnam Style Ghostbusting, a cool ass story about Eli Roth teaching unsuspecting villagers about film with one of the most controversial cannibal movies of all time, and a look back at Sarah Wayne Calles when she was an Obscure Hot Chick of the day here on CCD (way before Prison Break finished and The Walking Dead started). It's all here folks. Enjoy after the jump...

'The Man With The Iron Fists' - 2nd Red Band Trailer Introduces Some Of The Warriors In The Movie

Rza is and has been one of the most experimental people in the entertainment industry. He has put music to the side and entered the world of film with a bang. He has mostly appeared as an actor, but now he is about to take a turn as a writer & director of his first feature film 'The Man With The Iron Fist'. There has been a short teaser trailer released, but now we get a full on red band trailer that also introduces some of the crazy looking characters by name. Jack Knife? Madame Blossom? Brass Body? The Blacksmith? Holy shit am I looking forward to this one!!!! Add in producers like Eli Roth & Quentin Tarantino overseeing the production and this one has all the makings of a cult classic before it ever shows on a screen. The film comes out November 2nd. Check out the 2nd trailer after the jump...

The Red Band Trailer For 'The Man With The Iron Fists' Is Eye Popping... Literally!!!!

The Wu Tang Clan are one of my all time favorite rap groups, and here at CCD we usually spend Wednesdays celebrating the greatness of the Wu (even though I have fallen off lately). But like any group in the music business they have peaked and the members are off doing other things. Quite a few of the members have crossed over to the acting profession, with Method Man & Rza leading the charge. But while Mr. Meth has gotten into a plethora of projects both big & small, Rza has scored some key roles in HUGE movies like American Gangster, Funny People, and Tarantino's next hit Django Unchained. These huge films have lead him to forming some awesome friendships with the likes of Russell Crowe & Tarantino himself, and when Rza decided to step behind the camera himself to direct a movie he got the proverbial 'help from his friends'! His first film is entitled 'The Man With The Iron Fists', which sounds like it was the title of an older Wu Tang song. He got his pal Russell Crowe along as the star, got QT as the producer, and even plucked some Tarantino regulars in Lucy Liu & Eli Roth to help make the film awesome. The final step was to make the action/fight scenes larger than life, as any fan of the Wu knows that the guys love in their movies. Rza seems to have nailed this aspect if nothing else. This is the red band trailer for the film, so that means uneditted for content. But instead of nudity, expect to see some eye popping fighting... literally! Check the trailer out after the jump....
