On The 8th Day of Christmas, CCD Gave To Me....

.... Arrow's sidekick/main chick Felicity! Emily Bett Rikards is the hottest nerd girl in the world right now. She is extremely recognizable for her integral role on the hit CW show Arrow as Felicity Smoak, Oliver Queen's main squeeze. She was originally only supposed to be on one episode... and that was parlayed into a full first season guest staring role and a full time starring role moving forward from season 2. She was getting cozy with Atom at first... but now she is with the Arrow baby! It helps that she is a smoke show (or should I say "SMOAK SHOW"... see what I did there?) and that her quip games is strong (she is the funniest character on the show). That is what we here at CCD love about a lady that makes our 12 Days of Christmas-y Sexy list!

Check back for more entries as we get closer to Christmas Day!

It All Comes Around For The "Original" TV Flash....

I make no apologize for the fact that Warner Brothers has made a complete mess of the fact that they own the rights to all of the DC characters. They have owned them for years, and aside from a handful of successful Batman films and a 10 + season run on Smallville (of which only 2 were really "good") they have little to show for it. But one of the best things that they have done, aside from Batman, is a little television show by the name of Arrow. Yup, I can't exactly figure it out either... but it is baffling to me that a TV show featuring a minor DC character such as Green Arrow on a shit network like the CW is the only thing DC seems to be doing right. But boy are they doing it right... and they have no signs of slowing down. They are parlaying that success of Arrow into another show, this one featuring the Scarlet Speedster himself, Flash! Flash, or should I say his alter ego Barry Allen, appeared on a few episodes of Arrow and suffered an explosion that apparently turned him into the Flash. Next season CW will give him his own show, and the cast is shaping up to be pretty great. Grant Gustin will continue his Barry Allen/Flash role that he started on Arrow, Jesse L Williams will play lawman James West, and the lovely Danielle Panabaker will be on board to bring some sex appeal to the show. But further proof that the guys in charge, the same gang that is responsible for Arrow, is all about getting it right comes in the small details. Case in point: They are casting John Wesley Shipp, aka the original Flash from the 1990-91 TV series, to a role....

OHC of the Day: Willa Holland

Willa Holland is no newbie to the game of Hollywood. Not by a long shot  So why is she todays Obscure Hot Chick of the day? because she is finally coming into her own by playing the sister of Oliver Queen, the title character of the new CW hit Arrow. Funny thing is that Willa is basically Hollywood royalty. Her step dad is Brian De Palma... yup, that Brian De Palma. She has been acting for quite a bit, playing Mischa Barton's little sister on The O.C. and as a guest star on Gossip Girl. She has also been in some films, like the remake of Straw Dogs (really good flick) and Legion (another pretty good flick). Those films did not have an overwhelming amount of success, so people may have missed the lovely Willa. But if you tune in to Arrow you will see her as Thea Queen, aka Speedy, and all of the beauty that she has to give. I am interested to see if Thea will ever develop into the 'Speedy' of the comic books, aka Green Arrow's sidekick. But with eyes like that and a smile that sparkles, either way as long as i get more of her I will be totally happy. enjoy the pics after the jump...

'Arrow' On The CW Is Shaping Up Rather Nicely....

So a few months back the CW announced that it would stay in the superhero business after the wrapping up of Smallville by starting up 'Arrow', an origin story about DC's favorite archer Green Arrow. G.A. is the kind of superhero that a TV show can get right... he doesn't have super powers like Superman or Green Lantern, he is more of a practical super hero like Batman. They don't have to convince us with special effects shots of him flying or using super strength. Just some good old fashion action, which is getting done better on TV then EVER BEFORE (see Spartacus, Game of Thrones, Human Target, Doctor Who, etc). But when the first trailer was released last week, I wasn't sure if they could get it right. I knew it was just the first teaser trailer, but it looked very basic. But over the weekend I found a second teaser, and despite the fact that it is 10 seconds shorter than the original it shows way more "Arrow" type footage. After viewing both, I think this show is going to be A-OK. I'll be watching this fall on Wed. nights, that's for sure. Watch both of these clips after the jump...

OHC of the Day: Amber Heard

Can one actress save Nic Cage from bankruptcy (and lunacy), John Carpenter from making another shitty horror movie (have you seen Ghosts of Mars?) & help Johnny Depp from becoming known as someone who can only make Pirate movies all in one year? If anybody can do it, its gonna have to be Amber Heard. She is all set to star with Cage in Drive Angry 3-D, alongside Depp in The Rum Diaries, and will be the lead character in John Carpenter's newest film, The Ward. Thats why we are featuring her now... cause in about 3-6 months, she is about to be Megan Fox circa two years ago status. Heard has posed in Maxim, FHM, Italian GQ (the black haired pics below... wow!) and Details (among many other mags), and she has had some small parts in some great movies. Remember the two hot blondes that made Anton Yelchin happy to be kidnapped in Alpha Dog? Remember that next door neighbor that Jesse Eisenberg was so head over heals in love with... right up until she tried to eat his face in Zombieland? How about Seth Rogen's unbelievably hot teen age girlfriend in Pineapple Express? Yup, all three of those roles were Heard. You have seen her... but do you know her? Probably not. Check out the indie horror movie All The Boys Love Mandy Lane, and also be on the lookout for And Soon The Darkness with fellow young (and possible future OHC) Odette Yustman. The Rum Diaries, The Ward, and Drive Angry 3-D all open later this year and early 2011. Get familiar people... these blonde locks and beautiful smile ain't going nowhere!!!

2 TV Remakes Coming Up This Fall That I Could Not Care Less About...

... until I saw the promo posters for them!!! These shows have been on my radar for a bit, but I was not so psyched for them because they would be rehashing older programs. But now that I have had the pleasure of checking out a few of the promo posters on the NYC subway system, my attitude may have changed. First up, we have a Hawaii Five-0 remake/sequel series.

The original show featured Jack Lord as McGarrett, leader of an elite unit that operated in Hawaii, the 50th state (get the title now???) Here is what the original looked like:

This is what they will be looking like now:

And they are adding a hottie to the team, young recruit Kona:

Scott Caan has been stealing scenes in everything he has been in his whole career, I can not wait to see Jin from Lost kick some ass, and I like that its a fresh take on the series... but  the main character will be a version of Jack Lord's characters son instead of trying to re-do that great 12 year run of Mcgarrett. I am in!!!

Next up, we have martial arts superwoman Maggie Q taking on the roll of Nikita. You have seen this character before in the classic 1990 Luc Besson movie Nikita, the 1993 American remake Point of No Return, and the late 90's TV show Le Femme Nikita. All of the incarnations have a beautiful secret agent that goes rouge against the organiztion that she works for, and involve lots of high powered guns and action. Since it was a 4th shot at this material, I was on yawn about this.... until I saw these posters:

Wowsers... on second thought... I might check this out. The CW has been doing alright with shows lately, and to be honest I can not think of a better role for Maggie Q. She is gorgeous, sexy, and more then capable to do the physical aspects of the role. And if you can bring yourself to stop looking at Ms. Q for a second (god-damn!!!) take a look at that artillery!!! I will give this a shot.

Both will be on the fall schedule, so stay tuned for when. I will be posting a fall TV preview shortly. Are you excited for these two new shows??? Tell us in the comment section below.

That Was Quick...

Two days ago I told you guys that the powers that be over at DC Comics are trying to get a Blue Beetle live action TV show up and running to take the place of the decade old Smallville that will be ending after next season. Geoff Johns told us of a test shoot they did of the Jaime Reyes's transformation into the Blue Beetle... and he said that he would try to release the footage at the San Diego Comic Con that was coming up next month. I was excited... and apparently so was Johns. He released the video in screenshot format over at the DC Comics blog on Wednesday. Wow, talk about blowing your load right away. I was hoping that some of this footage would leak before SDCC, but one day later by the company itself ??? To me, this says that they are kind of excited about how it turned out. We see Reyes merge with the Beetle, begin to transform, take full on costume form, and then fly away. The pics are a bit blurry, but thats because this is a test screening and these are screenshots, so its no the best quality. But I liked looking at 'em, so I think you will too. Tell me what you think n the comment section.

Will The Blue Beetle Replace Smallville Next Season???

This upcoming season will be the 10th and final season for Smallville, and the CW is looking for a superhero type show to replace it. Enter teenager Jaime Reyes, The Blue Beetle... most of you probably know The blue Beetle from his guest starring roles in the recent hit Batman: The Brave and The Bold. These team up adventures show a young Reyes learning how to use/master his alien super suit that transforms him from regular teenager into mecha super hero. I like the character a lot, because he is a teenager who has to deal with regular teenage issues and then puts on the suit to fight some major baddies... this could be a great show. Lets hope that if they do pull this off, they will get it right. DC Comics executives have cut some test footage of Reyes turning into the Beetle, and that footage may premiere at San Diego Comic Con next month. We will keep you posted. What comic property would you like to see turned into a TV show??? Let us know in the comments section below.
