Hello CCD-ites! It's been awhile, but your boy JoeyEsq is back with another article about 80's toys to cure your Cultural Compulsive Disorder... if your particular disorder has to do with 80's toys that is. Now normally I write a feature here called "Takin' You Back... Way Back" in which I illuminate you on a forgotten yet totally awesome toy line from the 1980's, but in this one I'm taking a bit of a different approach. Today I'm focusing on a topic that has kinda fascinated me since I was young - toys based on movies that were totally not for kids. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking any of the movies below. In fact I love most of them. It's just kind of bizarre how many toy properties there are out there that were based on something no child had any business seeing. Check 'em out after the jump!

New York Comic Con 2013 - Cool Ass Statues
One of the coolest things that any con has to offer are the ridiculous and highly detailed collectibles that are offered for sale. Nothing in this category is more impressive than the huge statues that more and more companies are producing. Whether they are busts, 1/2 bodies, or full figures... these statues are often enough to stop you in you tracks and make you do a double take at just how awesome they really are. Here are a few pics of the ones we saw at the 2013 NY Comic Con, hope you enjoy...

Tuesday Triple Play From Sean Hartter
I love it when my boy Sean Hartter is productive, and boy has he been in the last few days. He has posted a ton of new pieces over at his website, but these three stand out as my faves. First up we get a neon version of Neil Blomkamp's District 9. Great colors on this one. Next up we get a classic mash-up of two great characters I would love to see clash, Conan & Godzilla. Imagine the war that would take place between teh great Gojira and Arnie? It would be epic! And finally we get a very cool faux VHS box art for Prometheus, which once again proves my point that Prometheus is a fucking Alien Prequel!!!! Damn you Jeff Bond... damn you to hell!!! Check out all of Sean's work by clicking here, and check out the three posters after the jump...

Mondo Movie Posters by We Buy Your Kids
Mondo always brings the funk on any posters they release... they won't put the Mondo name on it if it is not a killer poster. But whenever they bring in some fresh artists I always take notice. This week we are seeing 4 movie posters being released by We Buy Your Kids through Mondo and they are all spectacular. There has to be something said about the selection of the films as well. You have a classic 80s flick in Beetlejuice, a hit iconic horror movie in A Nightmare In Elm Street, a cult classic Italian horror film in Deep Red, and an Arnie barbarian movie in Conan... how eclectic is that? Each poster is fantastic in their own rights, so click here to get more details on each one and when they will be officially on sale. As usuall with Mondo, there is a limited amount of each of these so stay on top of it if you want one for your personal collection. Check out all four after the jump...

Rated G - An Animated Art Show By Justin White
Gallery 1988 is back at it again... well, they have been back at it since November 16th and I am just a bit late to the party. Justin White is running an art show at the Gallery entitled 'Rated G' in which he imagines some of his favorite movies as if they were animated classics. There is only problem... these are not the kind of movies that lend themselves to the animated format. They are gore filled, action induced, crazy ass cult flicks that look even freakier when they are animated. You can see most of the art work and even purchase some of the original pieces and prints from the show by clicking here, and you can see my faves after the jump. This is a world I would love to live in...

Conan The Rebootian by Rob Martin
So we now have the inevitable reboot. Starring a former 'Baywatch' hunk (did I just say the word hunk)…
Not much to be seen here to really judge but, just from a teaser standpoint that was pretty lame. The VO, the smoke and of course the 3-D tag at the end. Blech!
The movie also stars Ron Perlman, who we of course love, Stephen Lang from 'Avatar' and Rose McGowan. Who also may or may not be in a 'Red Sonja' movie, but she’s not playing her in this movie…I don’t know.
I would much rather see this as a feature…

Welcome Back Conan, You Crazy Red Headed Son Of A Bitch You!!!
Conan O'brien made his way back onto TV's last night after his 7 month exile, and I couldn't be happier!!! The show started with an execllent Godfather-esque sketch that was filled with Conan's traditional self loathing and depriciation of himself. Very good (I'll post it as soon as its up!). We also had some great moments from The Green Hornet himself Seth Rogen, Glee's lovely Lea Michele, and The White Stripes frontman Jack White. An excellent first show cast, masturbating bears and Andy Richter still got it. Love the Ricky Gervais shoutout as well.... all in all, good fun. Fuck Jay Leno... watch Conan instead baby! Since none of the clips are up online yet (you can click here to check Conan's site in the future for all the clips) I am including Conan's pre-1st episode, cleverly entitled "Episode 0". Great way to start off the show. Are you excited Team Coco is back? Let us know in the comment section below.

40 Years Of The Governator
It's hard to believe, but actor Arnold Schwarzenegger has been blowin shit up on the big screen for 40 years... 40 F$#cking YEARS. Even though he has slowed down recently to act as govenor of the great state of California, he is planning to make a cameo in this years upcoming film The Expendables alongside other great 80's action stars like Sly Stallone and Bruce Willis. Somebody over at YouTube put together 160 of the greatest lines ever spoke on the silver screen by Sir Arnold, and after I watched this I had to share it with you guys. It's hard to admit it, but Arnold has made some great fucking movies. Commando, Predator, The Conan and Terminator Collections... wowsers!!! He has come a long way from Hercules In New York. And its hard to argue with the 1.6 billion dollars he has generated domestically... long live "The Governator" !!! Enjoy the clip.
