These Homemade Ouija Boards Will Help You Channel All The Spirits In Your Life

Ouija boards (or spirit boards) have been around forever... FOREVER! They have been dated back as far as 1100 AD in China (thanks Wiki) and were commercially released as a home entertainment game way back in 1890. Ever since then they have been the basis for many a scary nights with teenagers and adults alike. There was also a huge push of Ouija board based films in the late 60s-early 80s. Some of my favorites has to be Witchboard  (which spawned 4 sequels), Paranormal Activity, and the original 13 Ghosts. One can even say Jumanji is kind of a Ouija board based movie (it's a stretch I know...). These things are fascinating, polarizing and commercially available for purchase at most stores that sell board games. But what if you wanted to step your game up a bit and buy a fancy custom made Ouija board?

Symbolic Movie Posters by Rocco Malatesta

I came across artist Rocco Malatesta's work over at Super Punch when they featured his killer Reservoir Dogs poster and had to delve a bit deeper to see what his work was all about. I was blown away when I saw what he had to offer for sale on his page. He has some great pieces, especially his hand collection (you will know what I am talking about when you see it on his page) and countless other symbolic movie posters that he has on the page. Rocco takes one key element of the movie and then compliments it with small unique touches that make each one quite unique and dope in their own right. 'The Shining' Sculptures May Be Creepy Than The Original People In The Movie... Maybe!!!

The Shining is one of the creepiest movies ever created, a pure horror classic from the genius mind of Stanley Kubrick. It is one of the first horror movies to cross over to the mainstream and is always on the top of peoples 'Greatest Horror Movies...' lists. One of the things that makes it so spooky for me has to be the look of the characters. When the film starts the three members of the Torrance family seem to be pretty normal... and way I say normal I mean in appearance as well as mental state. But as they spend more and more time at the Overlook Hotel the family begins to unravel in both of those aspects. By the end of   the film the characters look horrific and make it even harder for us to ignore the traumatic experiences they have just gone through... Enter sculpture Clare Monaghan and her ability to recreate this haggard look of the Torrances from the end of the film in her busts. These are just so detailed and weird. Adam Strange F@ck The World!!!!!

I have always been a big fan of the Adam Strange character in DC Comics. He has always been a fringe character on the outside of the DCU that is really only know to people who read HIS books. They are set in space, are often self contained, and don't feature the typical DC big guys we see in all the other books (Bats, Supes, Flash, GL, etc...). Final Crisis saw Adam Strange thrust among the rest of the DC heroes, and his storyline was one of the best of the bunch.  SuperPunch has been running a contest where people needed to create a DCU movie poster for characters other than the ones who REALLY have movies. The results have been spectacular, and the results are being released little by little... and today I am going to highlight the Adam Strange entries!!! Damn it Tommy... I TOLD YOU THAT WAS THE CHARACTER TO DO!!!! See the two pieces after the jump....

Lego Characters by Jung Von Matt

I came across these cool minimalist recreations of animated/children characters composed of Lego bricks by artist Jung Von Matt over at SuperPunch. I thought that the simpleness of them was very cool, and that they are easily identifiable despite the fact that they lack detail. Sean Hartter Takes On Super Punch!!!

Running this blog has allowed me to post lots of great images and artistic creations, and at the same time allowed me to become friendly with some really cool people. One of those cool kids is artist Sean Hartter. I have posted many of Hartter's creations, mostly because they are absolutely fucking awesome. But it makes it a lot easier when the person who creates the art is super humble and comes correct every time. Need more proof of this? As a thank you to the awesome blog Super Punch for running his work continuously, Hartter created  one of his faux movie posters featuring the trademark Super Punch Chimera menacing a city in the style of Godzilla. That's pretty cool in my book. I just got one question for ya Sean: When do Jeff Bond & I get our CCD tribute piece??? We are waiting... hahahaha! Wanted: The Doctor!!! by Fro Design

I am eager for the return of Doctor Who and can't wait for the upcoming 50th anniversary of the show. I found these really cool posters by Fro Design over at Super Punch and I just had to feature them. I love that it plays up to the fact that the Doctor may be a hero to the people of Earth, but he is a enemy of the Time Lords & the Daleks and they would reward his captor handsomely. We Are Definitetly Getting A Charlie's Angels Reboot On ABC...

... but the cast has not been picked yet. 'Charlie's Angels' (the TV show, not those craptastic movies that made even the amazing Sam Rockwell seem incapable of acting) was filled with sex appeal and the girls who played the angels were super sex symbols (again, the TV show... the movie featured a mediocre Cameron Diaz & Drew Barrymore... oh, and a sexy as fuck Lucy Liu... 1 outta 3 ain't bad!). Now is your chance... who would you pick to be your new Charlie's Angels??? Anybody is eligible, especially since just about any movie star will do TV nowadays whether their career is hot or not. I'll start it off... here are my picks:

1) Lizzy Caplan - God I love this wonderful creature... and I miss her since 'Party Down' ended. She is also the subject of one of the top 10 CCD posts of all time when we chose her as OHC of the day a while back. She is funny, gorgeous in the face, and has an amazing body... yup, a perfect fit for the Charlie's Angels team!

2) April Pearson - Most of you do not know this British beauty, but she was the star of the first two seasons of original 'Skins' show over on the other side of the pond, playing the role of Michelle. Not only is she amazingly gorgeous, but she has an infectious personality that causes you to identify with her character no matter what. It also helps that I am currently obsessed with the original 'Skins' series via Netflix and she has unreal tits.... but hey, that's just why I picked her...

3) Alison Lohman - I recently featured this gorgeous blonde in our "Proof There Is a God" series that gives thanks to the good lord for blessing us with stunning beauty... which the lovely Alison sure does possess. But truth be told I've loved her since she was a kid in 'Matchstick Men' and loved her even more in Sam Raimi's 'Drag Me To Hell'. She is a proven performer, wonderfully attractive, and a blonde... Farrah would be proud!!!

4) My Alternate: Emily Browning - You remember that little wise-ass girl from 'Lemony Snicket's: A Series of Unfortunate Events' with Jim Carrey? Well guess what... she grew up!!!! This hottie is about to become a breakout star due to her lead role in Zack Snyder's 'Sucker Punch' and she is looking very grown up in the trailer. She developed nicely... and would be a nice fit for the show.
