Artist Spotlight: The Mash-Up King Marco D'Alfonso

I saw one piece of artists Marco D'Alfonso work over at Rampage Reality and I was very impressed... so I decided to dig a little deeper. My god am I glad I did! I love me some mash-ups, but Marco is one of the best I have ever seen at combing two properties together. I think the key is finding two properties that make sense together but are not the obvious choice... that is what brings it home. When you see the awesome mash-ups from Marco, you will see exactly what I mean. I am officially crowning him The Mash-up King... at least here on CCD he is!!! I hope you enjoy... click after the jump for all of them.

'I'd Buy That...As a Tee!' Vol 12 by Jeff Bond

Feels like Summer..... and I could use a few new unique t-shirts to really make a statement without saying a word. A statement like "I'm a geek that doesn't take much of anything seriously...I'm approachable and easily abused."

Here's some of the t-shirts I have my eye on to do just the trick but, there's only one problem....they aren't for sale yet! Please click the links below to the Threadless.com (my favoritest and most user friendly t-shirt contribution site) voting pages for each and give these beauties '5' ratings so I can throw 'em on my charge card one day.

Our favorite Italian plumber is in the midst of a siting of mythological proportions in this clever tee design entitled 'Loch Nes'

'Klimt in Space' imagines Sigourney Weaver's extraterrestrial nemesis as a Gusatv Klimt design. Me likey!

'Ups' coold probably be translated a few different ways...but either way it spells disaster at THIS young kiddie party

A to Z Blogging Challenge - Day #11 - Letter K - Krang

I was a huge fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when I was a kid. I think the reason was because the cartoon came out around 1987 and I was starting to get more into sports. I had already loved He-Man, G.I. Joe, Transformers, Thundercats and other shows so much... but it seems to me that TMNT was the last time a new cartoon blew my mind. Out of all the villains that the Turtles faced, Krang was always the coolest looking to me... and by default he became my favorite!!!

Krang is Shredder's partner in crime in trying to take over the world and get rid of the Turtles. He is a brainlike mass that is housed in a large mechanical body that was created by Shredder. In return, he allowed Shredder and the Foot Clan to operate out of the Technodrome. This maniacal brain had the awesome high pitched voice and the ill factor that always appeals to young boys... it's no suprise I liked him so much!!!

On a side note, Krang provided me with one of the coolest Cosplay costumes I have ever seen. Behold, the most awesome Cosplay costume ever:
