Teenage Mutant Ninja X-Men by M7781

I came across artists m7781 (Marco D'Alfonso) over on Reddit due to his awesome Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and X-men mashup that is making the rounds on the Internet. When I moseyed on over to his Deviant Art page I found an incredible collection of art mashups of pop culture characters that will make your head spin. There are a bunch of good ones, but I still find myself rotating back to the TMNT/X-Men one the most. What a great piece. Leo as Cyclops (the leader), Donatello as Beast (the scientist), Mikey as Iceman (the funny guy) and Raphael as Wolverine (the maniac). We also get April as Jubilee (they did rock the same colors!), Casey Jones as Cable, and my personal favorite side character Metalhead as Colossus. Pretty amazing. Lets hope m7781 decides to do a Brotherhood of Evil Mutants/Footclan mashup.... Shredder as Magneto? Kang as The Blob? Rocksteady & Bebop as Pyro & Avalanche? Yup... that would be great! Stephen King Meets The Comics

A couple of months ago I came into possession of a certain hard drive that happened to have 770 Gigabytes of digital comics on it, basically containing the full run of everything Marvel printed from the early 60's to present (thank you JF... you are the man!). There was also a ton of other stuff on there, including comics from other companies and various other cool tidbits. One of those tidbits happened to be all of the books Stephen King has written in a digital format that I can read on my tablet. the reason why this is so great is because I have read almost all of King's books in my teenage years... but I am eager to revisit them again. Doing so through the traditional format of books would be costly and take up lots of space in my house, so  these digitized versions will definitely be coming in handy. I am planning a great Stephen King re-read project for 2013... and I can't be happier! That was until I stumbled upon an old column over at Comic Book Resources in the section called The Line Is Drawn that mashed up Stephen King stories & characters with comic books. These submissions are all very creative and bring back a lot of memories... can't wait to relive them once again!

Urkel Bot Vs. Mega Skreech by Marco D'Alfonso

Marco D'Alvonso has a knack for taking something that may be vaguely familiar to us and make us feel like it hasn't been 20 years since we have seen it. Case in point: he makes a awesome fight poster promoting a battle between Urkel Bot (aka Steve Urkel from Family Matters) vs Mega Skreech (aka Skreech from Saved By The Bell). Mo Money, More Problems by Marco D'Alfonso

Last week I featured the work of Marco D'Alfonso, who I proclaimed to be the "king of the mash-ups" due to his awesome ability to combine two properties perfectly (click here to see that post). Well, he is back again... and the reign continues. Here is his take on the "Mo Money, Mo Problems" music video from rappers Puff Daddy & Mase. It features every bodies favorite superhero billionaires, Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne. All you mash-up artists out there need to pay attention... this is how it is done!!! Artist Spotlight: The Mash-Up King Marco D'Alfonso

I saw one piece of artists Marco D'Alfonso work over at Rampage Reality and I was very impressed... so I decided to dig a little deeper. My god am I glad I did! I love me some mash-ups, but Marco is one of the best I have ever seen at combing two properties together. I think the key is finding two properties that make sense together but are not the obvious choice... that is what brings it home. When you see the awesome mash-ups from Marco, you will see exactly what I mean. I am officially crowning him The Mash-up King... at least here on CCD he is!!!
