Wu-Tang Wednesday: U-God & Method Man - "Wu-Tang"

We have been off the Wu Tang Wednesday bandwagon for a minute, but today we are back like we left something!!! Welcome to Wu Tang Wednesday, where we celebrate the wonderful history of music from the world's greatest hip hop group, the Wu Tang Clan!!! Today we check in on U-God, the least vocal member of the clan, who came out with a dope album entitled "Dopium" in 2010 to very little fanfare. One of the best tracks on the album was a collabo with the most popular member of the clan, Method Man, entitled "Wu-Tang". It features a banging beat that is very in line with what the clan was doing back in the mid 90s and the hook is quite catchy. Wu Tang Wednesday: My Heart Gently Weeps

Hey gang... it's Wednesday!!! That means its time for some Wu Tang!!! Today I am featuring a cool cut off the "8 Diagrams" album entitled 'My Heart Gently Weeps'. the video features a sexy ass geisha girl and is a cover of the Beatles classic 'My Guitar Gently Weeps'. Wu Tang Wednesday - Raekwon ft Wu Tang - House Of Flying Daggers

 It's Wu Tang Wednesday son!!!! Ok, its Thursday... but whatever. Here is the video for Raekwon's House of Flying Daggers off of Only Built For Cuban Linx Pt. II. I know this song and album are over a year and a half old, but I have never seen it (because MTV & BET don't show videos no more!!!)and really love the album. The Wu uses a cartoon/motion comic strategy for this one, and the track is from the late great J Dilla. Dilla is even resurrected in cartoon form for this one. Rae is joined by some of the hardest hitters of the Wu: Ghostface, Inspectah Deck, Method Man, and  Gza. They bring the martial arts movie classic "The 5 Deadly Venoms" alive in this animated masterpiece that I just had to share with all of you. Long live the Wu!!!!

Wu Tang Wednesday - Method Man - The Riddler (Batman Forever Soundtrack)

I know this one is a day late... sorry! I always had a soft spot for this track. It came of the Batman Forever soundtrack... a much maligned movie. I always liked the movies campiness, but most people hated the shit out of it. Even if you hate Schumacher's version of the Bat (for Christ Sake, are those nipples?), it's hard to knock this wonderful vid featuring Mr. Meth. I love the way they Corleone-ized Meth... he looks like a chubby Ice Cube!!! Enjoy the track... Wu Tang Forever!

Wu Tang Wednesday - Method Man - Release Yo' Delf

This was the lead single off Method Man's Tical album... and in my opinion is the start of the WU blowing up to the fullest extremes. They experienced group success with 36 Chambers, but it was Tical that put Meth out in front as the accepatble solo artists that paved the way for Dirty, Ghost, Rae, and the rest of the crew to achieve solo success. This song is so fuckimg awesome... the start is amazing and still gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it. Enjoy...

One of my favorite tracks off of Old Dirty Bastard's debut solo joint Return To The 36 Chambers... a true classic Wu banger that brings me back to a simpler place and time. God, you gotta love the rawness of mid 90's hip hop. Meth is a beast, and Raekwon is a killer... but nobody can top the Dirt Dog himself!!!

Wu Tang Wednesday - Redman & Method Man - How High

These guys were a perfect compliment to each other and their album Blackout was phenomenal. Two titans of 90's Hip Hop checking their ego's at the door to make some great Hip Hop. Not to mention the video is absolutely hysterical. Great song... "How High... So High That I Can Touch The Sky!!!"

I have always loved me some Gza... the dude is a beast! This is also prime time Johnny Blaze right here... two of the best of the whole clan at the time when they were on top of their game. Off the classic album Liquid Swords... hope you enjoy!

Commercially Acclaimed #7- Absolut Vodka Addition

TV commercials are a part of our everyday lives as TV viewers. Even though Tivo and DVR have allowed us to "skip through" the commercials, the advertising companies a still trying to peak our interests by coming up with creative commercials. To me, great commercials are an art form and are under appreciated by a society that is always trying to speed through things. Think about it... how many times did you see a great commercial that made you laugh hysterically or want to go out and purchase the advertised product??? And how many times has the best part of the Super Bowl been the commercials during a blow out game??? Whether you want to admit it or not, commercials are cool as shit... and here are some of my favorites.


Today we are gonna check out Absolut's new ad featuring Ali Larter as Lemon Drop... I like it, I really do. Plus, I'm old school.... I drink Absolut straight till it burns, enough to give my chest hairs a perm!!! (What Meth!!!)
