SOLD! The One And Only Batmobile Auctioned

This is a bit corny and stupid but so could be the series that this car starred in. One of a kind. Is George Bariss, the creator loaded or just a bit loopy? I found the whole excitement to be a bit much for me as that auctioneer's voice refused to give out. But this might be the last time you see this car as it probably ended up in some reclusive billionaire's private car collection. Taken to Dubai to rust in the hot sun. NO NO NO...this car needs the moisture of the Batcave. Check out the video after the jump...

We Are Family... I Got All My sidekicks With Me!!!

Batman has had many people by his side throughout the years, and artist Kizer Stone brings the whole fam together for "Dark Knights". The Joker and the rest of the numb-nut villains don't stand a chance against this super team.

Why Not? This image of some DC Comics characters comes from the 1970's Sea World stunt show. Awesome!!!!

Wait... What You Talkin' Bout Batman?

Check out this clip of an interview with 1960's Batman Adam West talking about Batman & Robin's possible homosexual connection:

Wait... what? Did he use the term "living in a house together" & "running around in tights" like 5 times? And why was he giggling like that? Add it to the ratings... wtf? Why Batman, why?

LEGO Iconic Vol #10 by Jeff Bond

I am such a huge Lego nerd that words can not explain. Soooo I've decided to use my favorite blog site CCD.com as an outlet to get some of this stuff that I see every day, built out of bricks, out of my skull and onto the blogosphere where it can't hurt my cerebral cortex. Each month I'll be posting the best of the best hoping to inspire the Lego maniac in each of you...young and old.  Enjoy!

First up, an old stand-by, Profound Whatever, offers this re-imagining of Disney's lucky hare (whose name  he mixed with that of JFK assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald of course) armed to the whiskers in heavy artillery. The tubes used for spent bullet casings were an awesome touch and ya' gotta love the new design that's been popping up for fingers and hands for this scale creation. Mickey...watch the f*ck out!

'
'Lee Harvey Oswald the Lucky Rabbit'

...also Profound Whatever created this homage to the iconic image 'Flower Chucker' from guerrilla artist and talk of the town Banksy (original image below). The likeness is uncanny.

The Rocky Horror DC Comics Picture Show

This wonderful piece of artwork is entitled 'He's the Hero' by Leigh Kellogg.  Everybody knows how much I love 'Rocky Horror...', so this mash-up with some of DC Comic's mightiest heroes is a must post for me.

That's Wonder Woman as 'Janet', Superman as 'Brad', Robin as 'Columbia', Harley Quinn as 'Magenta', Joker as 'Riff Raff', and Batman as 'Dr. Frank-N-Furter'. Here is what the artist had to say about it:
Here's a piece that I did late last year for a Rocky Horror live show group. It’s an homage to the original movie poster showing the cast with a superhero twist, and was used as part of a promo for a special show. I also did the chorus line of legs, but as a separate piece so it could be moved wherever the printer wanted. “He’s the hero, oh yes, the hero."
OK... so who would you guys have play the wheelchair-bound 'Dr. Scott', greaser 'Eddie', and the monster himself 'Rocky'? Tell us in the comments section below.

Holy Shitballs Batman!!! The Batman 1960's TV Show Gets New Life On The Hub!!!

The newest TV network on the block, The Hub, has got something that all us Bat-Fans have all been waiting for a long ass time... Adam West & Burt Ward are on TV once again!!! The Hub is a new cable channel that is a 50/50 joint venture between Discovery Kids and Hasbro. The results are some intriguing new cartoons (G.I. Joe Renegades, Transformers: Prime, and a show based on the board game Clue) & some oldie but goodies (Fraggle Rock, G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, Batman Beyond) making up the programming. Throw in some classic sitcoms like Family Ties (Alex P kid... what!) and The Wonder Years (Winnie Cooper can get it!) and you got one hell of a network that launched on 10-10-10....

But all of those titles really don't mean shit compared to the next bit of news that comes with this new channel. Somehow, The Hub has acquired the rights to air all 120 episodes of the 1966-68 Batman TV show. Any real Bat-Fan knows that despite the fact that so much terrible shit has been released on DVD/Blu-Ray (Garbage Pail Kids: The Movie... Really?) the 60's Batman show has never been released due to rights issues between DC, Warner Brothers, and 20th Century Fox. But who gives a fuck... the show is on. One slight problem: the show airs at either 5 or 5:30 AM here in NYC. But my answer to that is simple: TIVO/DVR son!!!! My season pass is set... so take that Joker... Powwww!!! Bam!!! Zapppp!!! KaBlooooom!!!! (Tell me you don't remember the words during the fight scenes... Yes!!!)

To tell you the truth, I could care less about Batman & Robin (Well, West & Ward anyway). I am all about the amazing cast of celebrity villain guest stars. Caesar Romero as The Joker... Frank Gorshin as The Riddler. Burgess Meredith as The Penguin. Julie Newmar and Earth Kitt as Catwoman. Vincent price as EggHead. Otto Preminger as Mr. Freeze... the list goes on and on and is amazing! I am currently gathering episodes now, and expected recaps to follow shortly. Tune in to your local cable provider to find The Hub on your network. NYC Time Warner customers can catch The Hub on channel 22. Tune in kids... Same Bat-time, same Bat-channel!!!

Here Is My List Of My Favorite Actors Playing Batman... Whats Your?

I have a great email list of people that send each other random cool stuff they come across, everyday. Late last week a few of my friend sent around an email asking the question: "Who was your favorite actor to portray Batman?" I love these things because not only do you get a chance to express your opinions but, everyone else expresses theirs... and that's where the arguments usually start!!! I thought long and hard about this list and, after I sent it off, I thought about what a great post it would make. So here is my list of favorite actors playing Batman. Tell us your list in the comment section below.

5) Val Kilmer - Batman Forever

In my opinion, this is the worst depiction of Batman/ Bruce Wayne on the big screen. I know that Batman Forever and Batman & Robin get dismissed for their over the top rediculousness... but thats not my problem with Kilmer at all. I actually like both of those movies for their campiness and fun plots. Sure they are silly, but the villian in this movie is a guy who runs around in green spandex with questionmarks all over his body and another with a face half burnt off due to acid... since when were comics suppose to not be silly and campy? To quote another Batman movie: "Why so serious?" Kilmer is a terrible choice as both Wayne and Batman, especially Wayne. Batman with blonde hair? I don't think so...

4) George Clooney - Batman & Robin

One word: Nipples... the suit has nipples!!! Now I know that is not Clooney's fault, and thats not why he ends up as #4 on this list. Batman & Robin was a craptastic movie, but it is fun and campy in the vein of the 1960's TV show and its good for the kiddies. My son is 7 and I am grooming him to be a lifelong fan of Bats. We saw 'The Dark Knight' when it came out and, in no uncertain terms, Two Face scared the f'n shit outta him. It ruined the whole movie for him. Great to have that dark stuff for us fans, but its good to have the lighter stuff for the kids. As far as Clooney goes, I thought he was a good Wayne (Handsome, aloof, witty) and a decent Batman. He says he never regrets taking the picture because even though it was bad, he accomplished two things: 1) He played Batman, a lifelong dream for him. 2) He made like $3 million for the movie, his biggest payday at that point, and got two other roles immediately following that, propelling him to the superstar status he occupies today. If he don't regret it, why should I???

3) Michael Keaton - Batman (1989), Batman Returns

Hey now, hold up on your hate just a minute. I am a fan of Keaton as Batman. So why is he #3? Well this list is only 5 deep, so he is right in the middle. I loved Batman through the eyes of Tim Burton. 'Batman Returns'... ehh, not so much. I actually hate that fucking movie with a passion. I think its cause I despise Michelle Phifer, or it could be the overall disgusting physical charecteristics of Danny Devito's Penguin. Either way, that movie is a low point for me. But Batman saves Keaton. He is great alongside the scene stealing Jack Nicholson, and holds his own as a new crimefighter trying to get a grip on the crazy world around him. He is a great Bruce Wayne as well, although I always felt he wasn't good looking enough for the part. (What??? Bruce is supposed to be super model handsome... not a category Keaton is often put in) I thought he did a good job, so it comes down to my utter hatred for Batman Returns that sullies his performance. Oh well, this is my list... write your own if you don't like it!

2) Adam West - Batman the TV series, Batman (1966)

I love, love, love the 1960's TV show version of Batman, and here is why: It's a spot on acurate portrayal of Batman up until that era in time. Thats the way the golden age Batman was. Campy, kooky, and lots of Powwww and Zammm captions in the fight scenes. Guys getting knowcked out, not killed. They got the show right with the material they had. Adam West was perfect as Wayne and Batman, and the way he talks down to Robin/Burt Ward is wonderful. I wonder how many time West smacked the little jerk for his "Holy ___ Batman" lines. Also, take into consideration that he shared the screen with some heavyweight actors playing the villians (Ceasar Romero as The Joker, Burgess Meredith as Penguin, Frank Gorshen as The Riddler, Vincent Price as EggHead, etc) and Adam West's performance as the Caped Crusaders stands out even more. Not to mention in the 1966 movie he fought a FUCKING SHARK FOR CHRISSSAKES!!!!! A SHARK!!!!!

1) Christian Bale - Batman Begins, The Dark Knight

Listen, I know that Bale and his whispery voice can be a bit grating. But take into consideration just how great his performances are in these 2 films is, I can deal with it. Nolan's Batman is dark and mysterious, and his films show the more modern, brooding Batman that is occupying the comics over the past 15 years. Bale is a great actor, and his dedication to the physical aspects of the part are phenomenal. Not to mention he is a handsome bastard that is EXACTLY what Bruce Wayne is supposed to be... and when he douches it up, he is wonderful (The scene when he meets Dent at the restaurant... priceless). When you couple him with the great performance of Heath Ledger as the Joker as the complete antithesis of our hero, he shines even brighter. The dude is a complete maniac (did you hear those tapes of him yelling at that production assistant??? Great stuff, very Gibson-esque) and I love him as Bats. Then you have to also consider the two films. Since they are two of the best portrayals of Batman to ever be done (especially 'The Dark Knight') by default Bale gets the crown. No matter how good of a script Nolan and his brother may come up with, Bale still has to bring it to life. He did, and thats why I love him.

Hope you like my list... lets see yours in the comment section below!!!

6 Photos That Make Us Want To See An Arthur Re-Make With Russell Brand

Arthur was the great 1981 comedy starring Dudley Moore as a prepetually drunk heir to a 750 million dollar fortune... he is like a 12 year old with a whiskey glass, always drunk and acting a fool. He is supposed to be in an arranged marriage, but instead meets Liza Minelli's outer borough waitress and falls in love. His valet is his only friend, and once his family catches wind of his idea to be with a working class waitress, they threaten to take away his inheriatance.

I heard a few months ago that Russell Brand was set to star in a remake, and I must admit that I was torn on this. Brand is riding high off the success of 'Forgetting Sara Marshall' and 'Get Him To The Greek', and he does seem like a good fit for the role. Brand is best when he can be crass, drunk and crazy on camera... basically playing himself. Just look at that dudes hair, and then ask yourself how many hours a day you think he is sober. One website that I saw (can't remember which one, sorry!) called Brand "The drunk/druggie version of Michael Cera" in the sense that like Cera it seems that he gets to play himself in films. But I digress.

The first pictures have been leaked from the set, and it involves Brand and Luis Guzman dressed as Batman and Robin. Guzman is wearing a very true to form replica of the Boy Wonder's costume, green underwear and all. This is awesome. If you are going to have a drunk multi millionaire who is like a grown version of a 12 year old, wouldn't he parade around Manhattan dressed as Batman with a utility belt that features shot glasses, whiskey flasks, party poppers, and an Ipod. I have two words... awesome. Enjoy the pics, and tell me how you feel about this remake in the comment section below.

Bruce Wayne Is Back... Kinda

At the end of Final Crisis, Bruce Wayne met his demise at the hands of Darkseid... or did he? Even though Batman has been replaced by former Robin Dick Greyson and his son Damian Wayne has taken over as Robin, Bruce Wayne is not dead. He has been displaced in time... and he is pissed. Writer Grant Morrison takes us on a 6 issue mini series entitled The Return of Bruce Wayne, and in this six isssue series we will get to see Bruce time jump from era to era desperately trying to get back to modern day Gotham City. Through the 6 issue series we will see Batman as a caveman, a pilgrim/puritan, a pirate, a cowboy, a 50's style private investigator, and finally as he makes his triumphate return to Gotham from the dead. The pics on the top are previews of each genre Morrison plans to explore, and below are detailed sketches of pirate and caveman Batman. The series started in May and will be monthly. What better way to spend your summer than watching Batman jump through time like a bad ass version of Jack from Lost. Hey, wait a minute... maybe thats who built the statue... aw, forget it. Get involved in the Return of Bruce Wayne. Remember, support you neighborhood mom and pop comic book shops!!!
