Banksy's Street Art... Brought To Life!!!!

My main man Jeff Bond sent me this really cool article detailing the work of New Zealander Linda Radosinska. Linda is a photographer who has decided to recreate some of Banksy's most iconic stencils into real life re-enactments that she set up and photographed. The project is called 'Exit Through The Thrift Shop', and obvious play on the Banksy mockumenatry/documentary 'Exit Through The Gift Shop'. As someone who thinks Banksy's art is quite cool but not someone who knows all that much about his work, I think this photo project is inspired and well played. It is an excellent way to pay homage to the man while at the same time showing just how great his art could be if it was to jump off the wall and come to life. Graffiti War: Robbo Vs. Banksy

There's a Graffiti War going on and Robbo is out for revenge. Going tit for tat against famous graffiti artist Banksy for breaking the CODE of street art. That code is that you never use another artist's work without permission.

The Bulgarian Banksy Strikes Again!!!!

This is a military statue in Bulgaria that depicts the Russian Red Army. Statues like this litter Western Europe and harken back to the days behind the Communist curtain that Russia cast over this portion of the world. They are left as a reminder of the tough times:

Now take a look at the same statue... superhero-sized by an anonymous street artist that is being referred to as the "Bulgarian Banksy". At first glance, you can see Superman front and center. But you can also see: The Joker, Bumblebee, Santa Clause, Supes, Ronald McDonald, Captain America and Robin.

I am such a huge Lego nerd that words can not explain. Soooo I've decided to use my favorite blog site CCD.com as an outlet to get some of this stuff that I see every day, built out of bricks, out of my skull and onto the blogosphere where it can't hurt my cerebral cortex. First up, an old stand-by, Profound Whatever, offers this re-imagining of Disney's lucky hare (whose name  he mixed with that of JFK assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald of course) armed to the whiskers in heavy artillery. The tubes used for spent bullet casings were an awesome touch and ya' gotta love the new design that's been popping up for fingers and hands for this scale creation. Mickey...watch the f*ck out!

...also Profound Whatever created this homage to the iconic image 'Flower Chucker' from guerrilla artist and talk of the town Banksy (original image below). The likeness is uncanny.
