Hollywood Hotshots Take On The Villains Of Cinema Past

The New York Times was looking for a cool idea for a photo essay that was to appear in their annual Hollywood issue. What they came up with is absolute genius. "Touch of Evil" is a fun photo project that portays some of Hollywood's current best and brightest stars as the prototypical villains of cinema. The Madman. The Sociopath. The Home Wrecker. The Business Tycoon. These are the types of roles that have scourged films since the begining, and these re-enactments bring back some wild memories from the past. This Is The Ballsiest Movie Poster Ever Made.... EVER!!!!!

Check out this amazing movie poster for the upcoming American version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. It features a topless Rooney Mara being held by Daniel Craig. Fans of the original film and book series know that Mara's character, Lisbeth Salander, is a goth chick that is extremely sexual and that sex plays a huge part in the books. But to put her topless on the FUCKING POSTER is the craziest thing I have ever seen a studio do. I know, I know. This poster will NEVER make it to any theaters and NEVER be used officially... but it was all done to raise the buzz of the film that doesn't come out till December. After last weeks wordless trailer and this extremely risque poster, all I have to say is: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!! The movie opens December 21, 2011. I for one can't wait!

Now Thats How You Make A Movie Trailer!!!!

I have been getting quite angry at movie trailers lately... it seems like not only do they show most of the good parts in the trailer, they give away most of the plot as well. Why? This is so wack. Anywho, here is the trailer from 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' from the genius that is David Fincher. Now this is how you make a trailer. I read the book, and also saw the Swedish version of the movie, and I still didn't get alot of what I saw even though it intrigued me very much. Isn't that the point? The music is great, and the block lettering at the end sealed the deal for me. See for yourself:




I am really excited for this one. Rooney Mara (a former OHC her on CCD, thank you very much!) looks great as Lizbeth Salander, and Daniel Craig is always great. The "Feel Bad Movie of Christmas"... hahaha, what a great tagline! The movie comes out Christmas of 2011. I for one am psyched... how about you?

Here Is Rooney Mara as Lizbeth Salander... What Do You Think?

W magazine has Rooney Mara on the cover in costume as Lizbeth Salander from The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo... and as a fan of the original movie and someone who is reading the books, I must say I like the way it is shaking out! First, here is what Ms. Rooney looks like:

Wow, very different then when we highlighted her a few months back as Obscure Hot Chick of the Day. Looks pretty good to me... and I was a bit worried. But this is in the capable hands of David Fincher, and here is what he had to say to W on why he thinks he was picked to helm this controversial and long awaited Americanized version:

"I have no misconceptions; I know what the game is. They wanted me to do Zodiac because Se7en was successful and both are about serial killers. Now they offer me Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. They think, No one does perv quite like this guy."

That's so true, its scary. I'm officially psyched and a lot less worried about how they were going to tone down the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo for the American audience. OHC Of The Day: Rooney Mara

I have been eagerly anticpating the announcement of who would play the female lead, Lizbeth Sadler, in the US adaption of "The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo". The Swedish book series, called the Millenium triology by Stieg Larson, is a huge bestseller & the Swedish film was the biggest in that countries history. The big female stars of Hollywood have been circling this part for months now. Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johanson, Carey Mulligan... all of the young starlets would sell their souls for this part. Well, looks like David Fincher went in a different direction. He has chosen relative unknown (at least compared to those chicks above) Rooney Mara in the coveted part. Who is Rooney Mara? Well, I'm glad you asked. She brought the female heroine Nancy back to life in the 2010 remake of A Nightmare On Elm St, and she was pretty good at holding of the Dreammaster in the so-so movie. She is also set to appear in Fincher's The Social Network, which tells the story of the guys who created Facebook. That movie is going to be large, so expect to see Mara begin to gain some recognition shortly. She is also the granddaughter of New York Giant owner Wellington Mara, on her pops side... and Art Rooney, the owner of the Pittsburg Steelers, on her moms side. That makes her a double billionaire heiress as well. This means she can take the roles she wants in order to become a better actress since she don't need the money. Her sister Kate is also an actress (and future OHC of the day, lol) that is currently playing Eric's assistant on Entourage.
