The Students & Faculty of Monsters University Get Their I.D. Cards

Monsters University is the upcoming prequel from Pixar to their classic Monsters Inc. In the new film we take a look back to where best friend monsters Mike & Sully first became acquainted with each other... college of course!!! I really like the idea that is being put forth in this sequel and it is great to see where this friendship began and what their relationship is built on. I am also looking forward to seeing some familiar faces from the grown up monsters of the first movie back in their college days as well... and how great will it be to see the Monster staff & faculty? It will all unfold on June 21st, but to hold you over check out some cool I.D. cards after the jump....

Bates Motel: Once You Check In... Well, You Might Get Murdered By A Serial Killer In Training!!!!

A & E is not really a network you think about when it comes to original dramas. They have tons of successful reality shows (Duck Dynasty is the shit!) and have had some pretty good shows in the past (The Glades comes to mind), yet they have not been known to be the hotbed of activity for current dramatic programming. But when they read the spec scripts for Bates Motel, the new television prequel show from Carlton 'Lost' Cuse & Kerry 'Friday Night Lights' Ehrin that highlights the lives of Norman & Norma Bates before the events of Hitchcock's Psycho, they skipped right over the pilot phase and ordered a ten episode first season. They also got a killer cast, with Freddie Highmore & Vera Farmiga (two boanfide movie stars) starring as Norman & Norma, the craziest mother & son combo of all time. I am intrigued, and to be honest with you I love these types of hard boiled dramas that seem to be coming to TV more and more (Banshee comes to mind as another new one like this). It is also interesting that A & E wants to get in on the current Horror show trend. After the jump you can see the promo posters for the show and the first trailer. The show begins on March 18th, 2013. Check it out...

Check Out The Promo Posters You Never Saw From 'Kick Ass'

'Kick Ass' is such a wonderful adventure of a movie... basically it is the kind of movie that you watch and say "I can't believe they got away with making this crazy fucking movie!!!". The level of violence, inappropriate situations for the teenage characters, and especially Chloe Moretz's 12 year old bad ass Hit Girl... they are all things that could kill a movie before it starts. Yet they got it done, and it is glorious. So now that they are talking about 'Kick Ass 2', some older promo materials is starting to see the light of day. Check out these four posters that feature Kick Ass, Hit Girl, Big Daddy, and Red Mist. These are pretty cool, showing both the costumed & human side of each characters. And if you are going to make a Kick Ass 2, you must get Moretz back and there must be some flashbacks featuring Big Daddy (Nic Cage FTW!!!). The posters are after the jump...

So These Are The Character Posters For 'The Expendables 2'... ALL 12 OF THEM!!!

'The Expendables' was an excellent foray into the action genre, mainly because it featured a plethora of older action stars coming together to make a kick ass film. Since it was so much fun, highly regarded by both fans & critics alike, and made crazy cash... well,it was only a matter of time before a sequel was shot. Director Simon West did just that, and in just two short summers we have 'Expendables 2'. Not only are the mainstays from the original back (Sly, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Randy Couture, and Terry Crews, Bruce Willis, Arnie, etc), they have added some powerhouse action stars of the past (Chuck Norris, Jean Claude Van Damme) & some new bloods (Liam Hemsworth, Yu Nan) as well. It's gonna be epic... a great way to close out the Summer of 2012 movie season when it comes out on August 17th. Catch ALL 12 character posters after the jump....

The Many Colors Of The DC Lanterns Explained

The Lantern Saga has been an ongoing story line for the past couple of years in DC Comics. It is one of the only titles that has not been affected by the new DC 52 relaunch (I think) and has produced some really cool arcs such as The Sinestro Wars, Brightest Day, and Darkest Night. But who are these mysterious groups of Lanterns??? What are they all about? Who are the key members? Look no further. Thanks to my main man Cal over at the Cave of Cool here are 8 full size posters detailing everything you need to know about all the Lantern Corps. Hope that this helps you out with any questions you may need answered about the basics... click after the jump for all the posters!!!

Winter Is Coming... On April 1st!!!

I am completely enthralled with the world of Westeros right now. George R.R. Martin's book series "A Song Of Ice & Fire" is one of the most complex and exciting books I have ever read. The 1st season was amazing, an on April 1st the Starks, Lannisters, and the rest are back on Sunday nights to further the storyline a bit more for all of you out there who haven't read the fantastic books. Here are a few of the promo posters being used to promote the new series. The fourth one is a doozy in typical Game of Thrones fashion...

What Does This New Poster Say About The Upcoming Season Of Mad Men?

I'm not real sure, but I know just how smart the writers can be on this show... and given that the show is about the advertising industry, I do not think that there is absolutely nothing connected to this naked mannequin. What do you guys think? Check out the full poster after the jump and leave some comments as to what you think it all means...

3 Questions About The Newly Released Captain America & Thor Posters

So I saw these two pieces of Concept Art/ Promo Posters that have been released for San Diego Comic Con 2010 on about a billion websites yesterday (Yeah Cal, I jacked your pic... what you wanna do about it??? LOL) So instead of just re-posting the posters and saying "oh, look how cool these are" after all the other sites that I love have already done it, I decided on a different approach. I analyzed the two posters, and I have a few questions. Here they are. Feel free to add your own questions in the comment section below... or better yet, try to answer my 3. Thanks, hope you enjoy...

1.

So it would appear that Marvel is going to go with a traditional round shield for Cap (as opposed to the Ultimate version), but is that a handgun in Cap's hand? I know they plan on showing him in World War II, but a gun drawn in the first poster seems a bit much, no? I was trying to think back to when I was a kid and read The Avengers religously, and I can never recall Cap with a gun.
2.

Did Loki always have a spear as his main weapon? Is this Loki's weapon like Thor has his hammer? Again, I am a bit removed from actaul comic reading, but I can not recall Loki having a giant kick ass spear.
3.

I feel like the backgrounds play a huge part in both posters. In Cap's, it seems they are in war-torn Europe. In Thor's, it seems like they are in that in-between realm that exists between Asgard and Earth. Do you think these climatic scenes will actually be on the big screen in the movies, or just being used in the concept art?

So thats my questions... whose gonna help me with some answers????

4 Visual Reasons To Be Hyped For True Blood Season 3

True Blood on HBO is a summer fave over here at CCD, and the show looks to be getting even crazier in the upcoming season. I came across these great publicity posters the other day and wanted to share them with you. True Blood may be about vampires, but deep down inside the show is really about regular people learning to deal with different types of craetures in their real lives... most notably creatures that want to drain you of your blood and eat you. Anyway, here are the Season 3 Promo Posters. Look for the season premiere on June 13th over at HBO.
