Lockheed Lee & The Filthtee Crew End Inktober With A Bang...

Our web designer and all around Asian Sensation Lockheed Lee is multi-talented, way beyond his skills at making this page look great. He is an artistic talent as well, and he has a hand in designing some really cool shirts for Filthtee. In celebration of Ink-Tober (a month long drawing contest where people must draw a new image every day using ink) Lock and the Filthtee gang have been posting their awesome pics on Facebook & Instagram, and they are giving the originals away. I was lucky to bag one of Lock's Bane sketches, and it is great. So when he finished the month up with Jason Vorhees (and an awesome one at that), I new we had to feature it for Halloween. Artin' It Up - 2013 All Horror Week Edition - Day # 3

Today's entry in Tommy Lombadozzi's 2013 All Horror Week collection takes us camping... specifically to Camp Crystal Lake. Jason Voorhees hasn't always rocked the hockey mask that everyone is so accustomed to envisioning him. In the original Friday the 13th the killer was Mrs. Voorhees, and Jason only appeared briefly at the end when he dragged the final girl into the water... and he had no mask on to cover his mongoloid face. In Part II Jason is the killer... but he rocks a burlap sack rather than the hockey mask that he would obtain in Part III. Tommy decided to capture that look with his latest piece, and he used marker, pen, ink, paint marker and colored pencil to make this one come to life. I love this piece, particularly the fact that he went with the Burlap sacked Jason. Check it out after the jump... and you can see TWO MORE pieces on Thursday & Friday of All Horror Week.

Even Bad Guys Have To Get Old....

As a big horror fan I am constantly looking for websites that focus on the genre to read. I was always a fan of Bloody Disgusting, but they have gotten a bit corporate and big for their britches. A few years back I stumbled upon Freddy In Space, a cool blog run by a guy named Johnny. There was just something about the blog and the way he ran it that remind me alot of what we are trying to do here at CCD.... just talk about stuff we love and maybe score some free shit from companies for reviewing their stuff. Then I found out that Johnny was a fellow NYer and that was enough for me. We have become friends through meet ups at Comic Con and sharing memorabilia, and I am still a very big fan of his blog. Go check it out!!! Anyway, Johnny featured photographer Fredrico Chisea works in which Chisea shows us what it will be like when the villains we love grow old. THese guys may not seem like much of a threat anymore, but I bet they still go a bit of bad ass left in em. Check out the photo series after the jump...

Freddy Krueger In Mortal Kombat...No Like For Real!

Lot's of big new coming in from SDCC and while this isn't as big a reveal as The Avengers trailer, I think it's pretty damn great.

Warner Brothers Interactive announced that Freddy Krueger will be a playable character available as DLC in the latest Mortal Kombat game.





Pretty cool stuff. A couple of criticisms; it does unfortunately seem that this is not the REAL Freddy, meaning the classic Robert Englund. Rather it's the Jackie Earle Haley version from the recent useless reboot. Guess they still have their hopes set on a sequel and want to keep perpetuating the new product. Also I don't really like the two-handed glove thing. I guess it gives him more weapons but, it's just not how Freddy looks. It's too symmetrical.  It was probably just too much trouble to program him having extra reach on just one hand. That said, I still dig it.

The latest Mortal Kombat game is excellent, and this is another reason to pick it up, or keep playing. I generally don't get much DLC, but this one I will be picking up.

Freddy's inclusion in this game explains Warner Bros. recent request that Freddy and Jason both be removed from the fan made, horror icon fighting game Terrordrome. Their removal caused the whole project to be put on hold permanently. Damn C&D's!!!! Their request sparked rumors that perhaps WB themselves had a game in the works. This seems to be the result.

5 Videos To Remember Why We All Love Jason So Much

So I finally got a chance to catch the excellent Friday the 13th documentary His Name Was Jason: 30 Years of Friday the 13th on Netflix Instant Streaming (Shocking right... me watch Netflix streaming???) and was drawn back in to all that is awesome (and goofy) about the Friday the 13th series. I recommend the doc to anybody who likes the series, but I included a few videos from the past 30 years of some of Jason's on and off screen activities. There is a banned Nike commercial, Jason on the Arsenio Hall show (that's classic) and an interesting look at one nerds attempt to beat the Friday the 13th Nintendo game.
