CCD Interviews: Live From The 2014 NY Comic Con Show Floor - Artist Ken Knudtsen

So this year, like every year, we hope to find some new fantastic artistic talent down in Artist Alley. We send our intrepid reporter Tommy Lombardozzi out among the artists to find the best and brightest of up and comers... no need to stop by the established artists tables, we are looking for the ones that people don't quite know yet... but will very soon! Ken Knudtsen is that kind of guy. With an awesome comic of his own (My Monkey's Name is Jennifer), and some fantastic commission work done at the show (courtesy of his own blog), Mr. Knudtsen shows exactly why we chose to feature the guy here on CCD. Oh, it doesn't hurt that my man Ken is also a fellow contributor to the Sketch Lottery... which Tommy & I happen to be memebers and contributors of!!!! The Wonderful Commissioned Artwork Of James Silvani

I came across artist James Silvani's (his blog & his tumblr) work over at Buzzfeed in an article about 'Darkwing Duck'. Silvani is drawing the new 'Darkwing Duck' comic book and since I always loved the character I figured I see what Silvani could do. Boy am I glad I did. His finished products (for the actual comics) are spectacular... but where he really shines is in the commission department. My god this guy has some wonderful ideas for mash-ups and original portrayals of the characters that all of us nerds love and adore. Artist Profile: Mike Monge aka Supermonge!!!

I became friends with Mr Mike Monge through CCD's Tommy Lombardozzi... he is a wonderful artist that has a very unique style and way about designing classic characters with his own distinct spin on things. He has tons of prints available for sale on his Supermonge website, and you can also see some of his older work on his blogspot page (click the links for both!!!) While I'm sure he can draw just about anything, his Star Wars Universe & Superhero work are some of my favorites. He also does custom commissions, so if you know anybody that is really into art, maybe he can get something whipped up for you by Christmas.
