I am not the huge gamer I used to be, but when a game comes out that hearkens back to my youth I can't help but pay attention. This is definitely the case with Alien: isolation, the latest Alien video game from Sega. Coming off the disappointment of Aliens: Space Marines a few years back (that game looked super cool coming out but actually sucked balls) the team has gone back to the drawing board in terms of coming up with a new format for the game to take it back to the franchises roots. The first movie of the franchise used isolation to build the terror of the xemomorph creatures and how they were picking off the crew. So when this game decides to have you play as Amanda Ripley, Ellen Ripley's daughter... well it all starts to fall into place. She is looking for answers as to what her mom went through, and in her search for answers she stumbled upon something way worse... something with a egg shaped head and a mouth within its mouth! The game hits October, 2014... but for now jump after the trailer and see the cool teaser put together for E3...

Welcome To The World Of Skyrim by Edson Melendez

Note: This isn’t a full review as I have only played about
I have been a fan of The Elder Scrolls since the first release of Arena in 1994 on the PC and the subsequent releases Daggerfall, Morrowind and more recently Oblivion, so when Bethesda announced Skyrim I was obviously excited. I can now say that everything I expected for the game was answered and more.
Each Elder Scrolls game follows a unique story set in the world of Tamriel. Skyrim which is the furthest north most continent is home to the Nords a Viking type culture steeped in tradition ritual and lore as are all the races in this world. You play as the “Dovakiin” or Dragon-Born a person who has the soul of a Dragon.

8-Bit Skyrim Side Scroller... Why Didn't They Make Games Like This For NES?
Check out this awesome 8-Bit version of Skyrim, or the other game tearing up X-Box 360's & PS3's everywhere besides Modern Warfare 3. I love when they give these new games a stripped down, old school feel. This one is classic! Check out the full 8-Bit game trailer after the jump...

Captain America: Super Soldier... Wow, Just Wow!!!
The fluidity of the Captain and the athleticism that he displays is just amazing, and the combos that he was unleashing on those Hydra agents looked like they were pulled right off the comic book page. And what about that slow down, face mask cracking super punch??? Wow... just wow. The game will be epic in scope, and will not follow the exact storyline of the movie. We were assured that many of the traditional cast of characters from Cap's history will make appearances. Expect to see Red Skull, Baron Zemo, Arnim Zola, Hydra, and maybe even Bucky.. our good friends over at Sega would not confirm this, but they did not deny any of that either!!! Check back here at CCD for more updates on both the Captain America: Super Soldier video game and Captain America: The First Avenger movie in the coming months. What did you guys think of the game play in the video??? Let us know in the comment section below.

Are You A Made Man? Mafia II Review by Edson Melendez
Release Date: August 24
Systems: Xbox 360-PS3-PC
When Mafia 1 was released in 2004 for the Xbox I had dismissed it as a Grand Theft Auto clone. Fast forward six years later and after playing the demo for Mafia II I am starting to believe that I might have made a mistake.
Mafia II is set in the fictional city of “Empire Bay” at the end of World War II. You play Vito Scaletta, a returning veteran who comes home to find his father dead and his family in debt. The story follows Vito from 1945 to 1957 as he ventures out to become a “Made Man.”
My experience with the game was only limited to the demo available now but in it was a competent third person open world adventure game that has a highly cinematic feel to it. From the cut-scenes to the actual gameplay I felt more like I was watching an old school mob flick than playing a game. The voice acting is well done and the background music is filled with period appropriate music.
The game while only being single player plays well with the shooting mechanic feeling very natural, an excellent cover system as well as the ability to melee your enemies help round out the characters actions. The driving felt more grounded than other similar titles as well as the police AI made the game seem a bit more realistic. I found that out as I blew through a stop light and a police cruiser gave chase calling for backup for a speeding car.
With the demo ending on a cliffhanger I am happy that I gave this game a chance. I’m looking forward to playing it later this month. Hopefully you will all agree as well.
