Jon Marco's 'Rhianna' Music Video Is Pretty Amazing...

... Even if the song is absolutely shit. I don't really know much about Jon Marco the musician... the guy seems to have an OK voice but this song is not really my cup of tea. But he uses some green screen magic and fantastic editing to take a magnificent journey through the best movies of the late 70s and early 80s while chasing his fantasy girl. Really cool concept that is executed extremely well despite the fact that they probably had a non existent budget. I don't know about the lyrics, but the video will put a smile on the face of any fan of these great generation of movies. Check out the video after the jump...

The Tribute Performances Steal The Show At The 2013 Grammys

I am usually quite bored with the whole Award show experience, whether it be the Academy Awards, the Grammys, The Spike Video Game Awards, or whatever else cockamamie show they come up with next. But on the recommendation of my lovely wife to be Tara (whatup boo!) I have been checking out some of the performances from the 2013 Grammys the other night and I am truly impressed. It seems like the first time in a while musicians actually were concerned with their live performances. i don't know if this has to do with the recent Beyonce lip syncing fiasco or what, but I don't care... lets just keep the performances coming. I especially love the large ensemble tribute performances. First we got a cool tribute to reggae legend Bob Marley from Bruno Mars, Sting and Rhianna as well as two of Marley's own sons, Damian & Ziggy. It was a great rendition of Could You Be Love. Love this performance in recognition of one of the musical greats. The second tribute was fantastic as well, paying tribute to Levon Helm of The Band. Elton John was joined on stage by Mavis Staples, T Bone Burnett, Zac Brown, Mumford & Sons, and Brittany Howard of the Alabama Shakes. For those of you nimrods out there who say there is no good music being made anymore, maybe you should check into Mumford, Zac Brown, and the Alabama Shakes. They are all fantastic, as was this rendition of 'The Weight'. Great tributes for two legends. I am back on the award show band wagon... for now. Enjoy the performances after the jump....

Kate Moss was one of the earliest childhood sex symbols I can remember. I am talking about when I was like 12 or 13, in the early 90s. It was the era of grunge and heroin chic, and Moss did it so well. It didn't hurt that she was stunningly gorgeous and that she loved to show off her nips. Yup, Ms. Moss was a a party girl who was the model for all the other chics to follow at the time. Flash forward 20 years and Rhianna is in very similar territory to Ms. Moss. She is a singer, not a model... but as far as being unafraid to show her body off and the model of what chics try to look like nowadays... well, yeah Ri Ri is the new Moss. Now This Is How You Cover A Song... Florence & The Machine Takes On Drake/Rihanna's 'Take Care'

This goes out to anybody who has ever picked up a guitar or sings into a microphone. If you ever want to cover anybodies song, whether you are going to sing it in the shower or perform it at a gig, this is what you should be striving for. Holy. Fucking. Shit. I love me some Florence & the Machine (that chick has THE BEST voice in the game right now), and I am a fan of the original tune. So this is bound to appeal TO ME. But the reason why this works so well is because the covering band takes the original song and makes it THEIR OWN. You get the familiarity of the pop song, but it almost feels like it is an original tune of Florence & the Machine because they make it theirs so efficiently. I am blown away with this one. I will include the original Drake/Rihanna song after the jump as well so you could compare and contrast for yourself. Prepare to have you mind blown...

The Lonely Island Is Back & Better Then Ever

I am a huge fan of The Lonely Island. Andy Samberg may be the most recognizable of the three, but Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer help him make up the this comedy threesome that always put a smile on my face with their ridiculous songs. I really liked their first album Incredibad, but they have truly outdone themselves with their new one, Turtleneck and Chain. They All Star collaborations that these guys pull off are absolutely astounding (holy alliteration Batman... I didn't even mean that!). These are my two favorite from the new album:

I did not watch the Billboard Music awards on Sunday because of my nerd obligations to watch Game of Thrones and because I was sleeping off our first Comic Con weekend. With that being said, I saw a few pics of Rhianna's performance of 'S & M' that featured her in a white unitard and white knee high boots grinding the floor and also featured a special drop in by Britney Spears (in an all black getup and looking surprisingly hot!) and I felt compelled to investigate further.

Since MTV is to busy showing juiced up guidos and filthy teen skanks who have gotten knocked up, chances are you have not seen Rhianna's newest video 'S & M'. Sure, you have heard the song on the radio... but watching this video is sure to raise your eyebrows (and blood preassure) just a tad. Pulp Fiction ball gags, rope and plastic wrap play, and tons of latex suits.... WTF!!!! Rhi Rhi is a freak son. She looks way to comfortable during some of these shots. 1) 3 Favorite Movie Releases of 2010:

- Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World - A perfect movie... nothing else to say.

- Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows pt.1 - What a wonderful first part to the finale of this unreal movie franchise. I absolutely loved everything about it, and it did its job in hyping me up for the final film of the most successful franchises ever!!!

- 'Kick Ass': This is the kind of comic book movie I want to see. It is great. Millar's story is phenomenal, and Vaughn brings it to the screen magically. Also, I have two words for all you guys out there: Chloe Moretz. That little girl is gonna be huge... trust me!!!! Also, how can you not love a movie that features a batshit crazy Nic Cage being lit on fire. Wonderful.

Rhianna - Loud - Great album from a great artist. She had a good rebound year after the Chris Brown fiasco, and Love the Way you Lie, What's My Name & Only Girl were some of my favorite songs of the year. Classic.

4) Favorite "New" TV Show of 2010: AMC's The Walking Dead & No Ordinary Family

Honestly, if The Walking Dead was 12 or more episodes then it would have been a slam dunk. But 6 episodes left me wanting more. Sure, No Ordinary Family is cheesy, and schmaltzy, but guess what... I love it. Yeah its a rip of The Incredibles & The Fantastic Four... so what? Not to mention Julie Benz & Autumn Reeser. Good Lord!!!! Watch it... it's great! Also, I love Boardwalk Empire.

5) Favorite "Old" TV Show of 2010: Glee - A fun show that makes me laugh week in and week out. Plus, too many hotties to count. Quinn, Rachel, Brittney, Santana... JEEZUSSSSSS!!!

6) Best Purchase you made in 2010: My Netflix Membership - Holy fucking shit. I watch alot of Netflix. I watched over 500 movies on my Instant Streaming. 500!!! Not to mention about 10 TV series in its entirety. I use it so much, and I love it. Best 8 bucks a month that I spend....

7) New Technology that you acquired in 2010: Blu Ray Player - I have over 1,000 DVD's and don't want to upgrade but, the Blu Ray player plays DVDs (and makes them look better) and I might as well buy any movies FROM HERE ON OUT in a better format. Can't hurt... but I will not double buy anything. EVER!!!

8) Favorite Film you watched on DVD, Netflix or Cable in 2010:

'Exit Through The Gift Shop' - Phenomenal documentary, and all around excellent movie. A must see. Just missed my top 3 movies of the year. (Probably number 4 or 5).

9) Celebrity That you loved in 2010 (1 male & 1 female):

Female: Chloe Moretz - I love this kid. Sure I could have went with Scarlett Johanson or Katy Perry's wonderful TaTa's or Zooey Deschanel's wonderful baby blue eyes. But this kid stole my heart this year. She is great. In 'Kick Ass', she did just that... Kick Ass. She was great. The 'cock signal' line was so amazing, I choked on my popcorn. Great stuff. Also, see her in '500 Days of Summer' as Joe Gordon Levitt's younger sister and her starring role in 'Let Me In'. Phenomenal movie. She is so amazing. Can not wait to see her in ANYTHING she does.

Male: Robert Downey Jr. - Why RDJ you ask? Well, he is my favorite living actor and I feel he is amazing in everything he does. But I picked him here because he is a HUGE star, yet has no problem playing a supporting role ('Charlie Bartlett') or being part of an ensamble cast like he will be in The 'Avengers' (2011). He is perfect. Name me a bad Robert Downey Jr movie... can you? I am so happy that my first Blu Ray purchase was 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang', one of his most under rated performances of his story book career. Keep it up RDJ!!!

10) Celebrity That you hoped would die in a plane crash (1 male & 1 female):

Female: Kate Gosselin, Snooki, and just about every other reality show female on the planet earth. My girlfriend Tara watches a lot of reality shows... so by default I watch a lot of reality shows. One thing I noticed about almost all of them is the fact that the females tend to let it get to their heads the most and act like animals on a regular basis. Why is this? Just take the 'Jersey Shore'. Before that show started, I saw the way the guys looked and said "These guys are going to be the biggest dicks... ever!". In reality, overall they are pretty mellow and cool. The girls are heathens and animals. Especially that goblin Snooki. Grrrrrr! I hate them. If she wasn't responsible for 8 kids, I would really want Gosselin's plane to nose dive. But then they would be stuck with their tool bag father, so I wouldn't wish that on no one.

Male: Steve Martin - Why, oh why Steve? Steve Martin was one of my favorite actors of all time. He was great in everything throughout the 80's & 90's. Then he forgot how to pick roles. He should have never made that movie with Queen Latifah (it's been all downhill since then!) and the fact that he remade 'The Pink Panther' Movies should qualify him for a firing squad. He was not some young actor who took a paycheck and you can understand. He is a multi millionaire and a 30 year vet. He should have left Sellers & Blake Edwards alone. If I ever see him, I am going to smack him with a hamburger for those ridiculous scenes. He has to do some pretty remarkable work to get back in my good graces, and he can start by never making another 'Pink Panther' movie again... ever!!!!

Nikki Minaj Got So Much Ass, Even Rhianna Had To Grab It!!!

During Hot 97's Thanksgiving concert, Nikki Minaj decided that she was gonna class it up a bit and wear a pants suit during the show. Given the fact that her name is Nikki Minaj, you know there had to be a catch. What was that catch you ask??? How bout the fact that the whole rear of the suit was made of sheer material... see for yourself:

What??? Glad to know she classed it up for the holiday. But that wasn't the most outrageous thing to happen. Nikki performed a duet with Rhianna for the song "Fly", and after the song was over Rhianna gave her performing partner a pound, a hug... and a serious ass grab!!! That settles it... Nikki may be  a gimmicky rapper that is biting Lil Kim's style, but she definetly got some serious ASS!!!!

The moment I heard that Eminem was teaming up with Superstar Du Jour Rhianna for one of the lead singles of his comeback album, I started seeing the great video possibilities. Then "Love The Way you Lie" came out, and since the lyrics provide you with an even more intense imagery, I really couldn't wait for the video. This past weekend the video hit the street, and since MTV hasn't shown a music video in 7 1/2  years and nobody I know can bare to watch 106 & Park, I doubt anybody has seen it. So I give it to you.
