Mike D's Favorite 11 Movies of 2012: A CCD Rant

The year is over and I was one happy camper when it came to movies released in 2012. I am a huge movie fanatic and this was an amazing year for films to me. Big blockbusters, small indy movies... we got good stuff from across the board of genres and film types. We also must celebrate the year of the geek, lead by Mr. Joss Whedon. Comic book movies reached an all time high, Sci Fi made a huge comeback, and smaller companies like Magnet Releasing  helped make it easier for us to see lesser known works. Thanks to streaming services like Hulu Plus, Video on Demand, Amazon Prime and my beloved Netflix Instant films were easier to access as ever and were right at our fingertips on all the electronic devices we love so much. So here is my top 11 fims of 2012. Not the best films, not the definitive list... just my favorite 11 films that I HAVE SEEN THIS YEAR. And I know it's 11, that is what makes my list better then those stupid ass Top ten lists out there!!!! Enjoy my rant after the jump...

Daniele Rizzo Is The Greatest Press Junket Reporter Of All Time... Just Look & See For Yourself!!!

Press Junkets are organized interview events where a large contingent of the people involved in making the movie (actors, actresses, directors, producers,etc ) meet with groups of press in a single location. This helps with coordinating promotional interviews with multiple press organizations, especially when in foreign countries. At these press junkets reporters must do something to stand out amongst the throngs of people lobbing similiar questions at these casts... Enter Daniele Rizzo, a reporter from Germany. Daniele involves costumes & questions that often leave his interview subjects laughing hysterically and loving every second of the time they spend with him. This guy is out of control... and I mean that in the best way possible. Even The Viral Marketing For "Chronicle" Looks Bad Ass

I am really starting to get psyched for the upcoming film "Chronicle", which gets released tomorrow night. The teen superpower film certainly looks stylistic and the effects look to be very well done, so  naturally I want to see if the feature lives up to the hype of the trailer. But one thing is for sure and that is that the powers that be behind the film are definitely promoting it with some cool viral marketing. Thinkmodo was hired to simulate a "Flying Men" video around NY where they built 3 model airplanes into the shape of humans and flew them around NYC. The effect that is given truly looks like real people flying around things like the Brooklyn Bridge & the Statue of Liberty, which happens to be one of the powers the teens have in the film. It is amazing how realistic these models look. Very cool way to promote what looks to be a very cool film. We shall see tomorrow. check the promo video after the jump...
