Mark Millar & Leinil Yu are two of the biggest names in the comic book industry. Like em or hate em, these guys can do pretty much whatever they want. So why not team up and try to come up with a great idea for a comic? Well, they did... and it may be the most logical idea I have ever heard for a story that is based on superheroes and super villains. In all the craziness and bizarre ideas that pollute most comics, how come nobody ever thought so simple? I am a veteran of the comic book game... I have been collecting since I was four (just over 28 years) and I have tons of comics/graphic novels to prove it. I, along with many of my fellow 80's baby comic geeks, were way ahead of the current comic book movie craze and have read ALL of the source material that is making the summer blockbusters the masses are devouring at a record pace. But what if you have to buy a gift for the person who is just getting started with comics? Here is a list of a few of my personal faves that will give any comic fan, new or old, a smile on their face. See All 33 Years Worth Of Covers From 2000 AD

Most of you guys probably never heard of 2000 AD, the semnal British magazine/comic book that is absolutely awesome. Characters like Judge Dredd, Dan Dare, and Slaine had some amazing stories in this legendary magazine. We also got to see the talents of guys like Alan Moore (One of the best comic writers... ever), David Gibbons (Watchmen artist), Garth Ennis (Preacher), Mark Millar (Wanted) & Grant Morrison (Batman) come to fruitition. Not to mention, in my opinion, the greatest comic book writer ever... my personal favorite, Neil Gaiman (Sandman, The Eternals, Marvel 1602). This magazine represents the best of the UK comic book industry, and just by this small list of artists & writers above, I certainly am thankful for our British brothers (especially Gaiman... thank god for Gaiman!). So, here you go... 33 years worth of cover genius. Thanks to io9 for the tip.

New Kick Ass Red Band Trailer... Wow!!!

This movie looks phenomenal... and its getting the approval of the guys that I trust most: Former geeks who have made it in the movie industry like Edgar Wright and Kevin Smith. Thats the kind of endorsement a film like this is looking for. The cast looks wonderful, and since the comic creator Mark Millar was involved in the movie from the begining it should be awesome. So here is the latest Red Band Trailer for the film I can't wait for. Kick Ass premieres in England on March 26th, 2010 and here in the USA on April 16th, 2010. Hope this can hold you guys over!!!
