Get Ready For A Robert Rodriguez Double Dip This Fall...

Robert Rodriguez is one of my favorite film makers working in Hollywood right now. Why you ask? Well, for one his an original thinker who finds very practical ways to make fantastic movies. secondly, he has been making some of the best genre movies of the last 15 years (Desperado, Machete, Grindhouse, Spy Kids, Sin City) all very unique to their own genre, but all very Rodriguez in their delivery. And finally because my man R Rod is returning to two of his original films to give us sequels, and he is doing so in less then 3 weeks apart this Fall...

'Bad Ass' Looks Pretty... Bad ASS!!!

The trailer for Danny Trejo's new flick 'Bad Ass' has been making it's way around the Internet, and it is sparking all types of controversy. Is this a real movie? is this really gonna happen? Can a film possibly be THIS BAD ASS? Trejo looks like he is going even more over the top than he did in Machette... and that is WAY over the top. But on another note, I think this is exactly what Trejo should be doing. These movies are wacky, look like they are relatively inexpensive to make, and are putting Trejo in a starring role instead of being a supporting character. Considering the success of grindhouse-type fare such as Hobo With A Shotgun, Death Proof and Machete in recent years, I think this would go over gangbusters. Enter in Ron "Hellboy" Pearlman and Charles "Roc" Dutton into the mix and this movie looks unreal. What do you guys think? Luke Skywalker, Candyman And Atreyu Serve Up "Sushi Girl"

Who doesn't love to see an ensemble cast of cult movie actors in a some kind of crazed, perverted, sadistic horror flick? There actually seems to be a bit of a renaissance going on with these types of films, with directors like Robert Rodriguez and Rob Zombie leading the charge, and I couldn't be happier about it.

This particular new grindhouse style movie has got one of the coolest "what the WHAT" groups of actors I've ever seen. Including...

Mark Hamill
Tony Todd
Jeff Fahey
Noah Hathaway(Mother Luvin Atreyu!)
James Duval
Michael Biehn
Sonny Chiba
and
Danny Trejo(of course)

Bad. Ass.

Sushi Girl is brought to us by first time feature Director Kern Saxton. His previous work includes a short called "Deader Living Through Chemistry," which was selected by Gerorge Romero for inclusion on the "Diary of the Dead" DVD.

It's not clear what kind of release "Sushi Girl" will receive, but I imagine we can expect a small theatrical release at best, with a big push for the DVD. I will definitely be watching the fudgeneut out of this movie.

The Hangover + The Muppets = Danny Trejo

Wait.....what?

The most telling and exciting thing about this teaser, is that it's a spoof of, and is going to be running in front of "The Hangover Part II." A trailer, for a Muppet movie, before a hard R rated movie. That's of course not to say that I'm expecting it to be "Meet The Feebles" but it does speak to the audience they are selling this movie to and the confidence they have in it.

Can we hope to have more movie specific teasers throughout the summer as we build towards "The Muppets?" Perhaps Harry Potter and Captain America style Muppet teasers!

Man there are going to be a lot of celebrities in this thing eh? Not too much more footage than the last teaser. Some shots of an apparently dilapidated Muppet Theater. Not used in quite some time as evidenced by the Rubik's Cube on the desk. Looks like maybe Kermit's old office judging by the line of banjos adorning the wall.

I love all the quotes and their respective sources. I would totally subscribe to "This Week Monthly."

Buffy Kicks Freddy Krueger In The Face!

Well not exactly...

The full cinematic intro to "Call of the Dead," along with some game-play, looks pretty great. It would seem the B actors are filming a Romero zombie movie, when a real outbreak begins.

George Romero as the all powerful Super Zombie! Nice. I really dig the whole style of this little project. Even the mock up poster is cool, with its old style one-sheet, folds and all.

And did you hear Sarah Michelle Gellar? She goes..."Let's SLAY some stiffs." You know.....cause......YOU knoooow.....she was on.....and that was when.....and it used to.....with the thing.....and now with chicks......come ooooooooooon.

Call of the Dead

Ack! Zombies!

A zombie bonus mode in a video game! How original!!!

...

Ok, standard cynicism aside, I can't help but get a little excited about the trailer for the new Call of Duty DLC. I'm not even really a big fan of FPS games, but I may have to just give this a whirl.

A great Grindhouse homage trailer, featuring some cool genre actors. The song from Return of the Living Dead being used makes me all tingly inside!

I'm sure the game itself will be littered with references and winks to the undead loving audience. The trailer itself is brimming with them. I mean Robert Englund even says..."This must be a nightmare"........Ya know.....cause he....come on....COME ON....youuuu know.....cause the guy...and he was......with the....SO FUNNY!

Can Machete Possibly Be Any Awesomer??? Um... Nope!

The official trailer for Robert Rodriguez's Machete has been released, and I can honestly say that I am anticipating this movie more then before... and since I have been waiting to see how this would turn out since that faux trailer from Death Proof/ Planet Terror, that says alot. The trailer looks phenomenal, and I can not believe the cast. Trejo is gonna be great, and Jeff Fahey looks cool as the bad guy. But Bobby De Niro? Steven Seagal? Don Johnson and Cheech Marin, Nash Bridges style? Lindsay Lohan, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jessica Alba looking hot as shit? How can the answer be yes to all of the above? I know... because its going to be FUCKING AWESOME!!! Check out the trailer, plus a few newly released Grindhouse style pics. Are you excited to see Machete? What was the coolest part of trailer for you? Tell us all about it in the comments section below. Hope you enjoy...
