The CCD Podcast: Episode #4 - Godzilla & Mac Tonight Walk Into A Bar...

On this edition of the CCD Podcast (#4... can you believe it!) we discuss nerdy news bits like who will be show-running & starring in Marvel and Netflix's Daredevil Show (even more Cox... YEAH!), aging Terminators and why they can't get that franchise right, and Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg's Sausage Party... oh, yeah, we also TALK SOME GODZILLA!!! We review the newest Godzilla installment, remember the golden Toho years & the not so golden 1998 installment, and even work in a Mac Tonight reference. Yup, this episode was off the chain. Marvel's Netflix/TV Universe Has A Bright Future, And They Are Looking To Get Off To A Good Start Quickly...

So even though this was a tough week for Marvel's cinematic wing (they lost Edgar Wright as a director of 'Ant Man'), things are certainly looking up for the Netflix/TV division and are looking quite promising. The first season of S.H.I.E.L.D. is in the books and although the show started slow it did a fantastic job of meshing the cinematic and TV universes mid-season with Cap 2 (which came out smack in the middle of the season. It was done flawlessly. Now there are rumors of the 'Peggy Carter, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.' spin-off, period show (set back in the 40s and 50s) and the Netflix series that are finally getting cast ...and wow, Marvel doesn't seem to be playing around! First up... 'Daredevil'! We got our Matt Murdock, and also a show runner.

Marvel & Netflix Team Up To Change The Game

Good lord... this is a true game changer! Marvel and Netflix have agreed to team up in one of the most ambitious ventures ever announced. The two industry titans have decided to come together and produce 4 individual 13 episode television shows based on the characters of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Power Man & Iron Fist... and then a Defenders mini series highlighting all four characters!!! Holyyyyyy SHIT!!! Are you kidding me? All four series will be set in Hell's Kitchen, NY and will be based in the same universe as the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as well. Good god... the best part is they say "a minimum of four" live action series... could even be more!!! The plan is to unroll the shows in 2015, and given the recent success with Netflix original programming (Orange is the New Black, House of Cards, etc) and everything live action Marvel (movies & the SHIELD TV show) this should go over swimmingly. Plus, I really dig the idea of getting 13 episodes to explore each character in full detail. Than we can bring them all together... wow. This can be so great, and think about how many villains, lesser characters and cameos we can plan on seeing. Check out the full press release after the jump...

A to Z Blogger Challenge 2013 - Day 4 - D is for Daredevil

Yup... I know it is hard to believe that I would pick Daredevil as my movie for the letter D in the 2013 A to Z Blogger challenge. Of all the movies to pick from, why Daredevil? It is such a widely regarded bomb of a film, and most people who have seen it have hated it with a passion. But the truth is there are two reasons why I chose the Ben Affleck grenade as my choice of the day. 1) The movie has a directors cut, and that directors cut is drastically different from the theatrical release. So different that I bet that 75% of people who seen Daredevil and hated it would probably change their minds about the movie if they see the directors cut. It is one of the best DVD's I ever bought, and totally redeems the movie for me. 2) Jennifer Garner. Yup, that about sums it up. The point of this challenge was to pick a movie I love and then highlight a beautiful actress from that film. Jennifer Garner certainly fits the bill with her portrayal as Electra. I know her solo movie sucked, and most people can't even understand how she got a shot at it considering how bad Daredevil did. But can anyone really argue the hotness of JG, the future Mrs. Affleck? I don't think so. So for all you real geeks out there, try and check out the directors cut of Daredevil for the complete experience. The Incredible Hulk TV Movies Get a Poster Via Sean Hartter

I haven't featured my boy Sean Hartter's work here on CCD because he hasn't been releasing stuff with his regular frequency as of late. I know that is because he is busy becoming a huge artist with international fame and fortune (remember CCD when you are living the life of a jet setting poster artist SH!), but this week he seems to be back on his grind posting stuff on his cool ass website. One of the coolest pieces he posted this week is his dual poster for the classic Marvel TV Series The Incredible Hulk. We get both The Return of the Incredible Hulk & The Trial of the Incredible Hulk... yup, both the 1st appearances of Thor & Daredevil!!! This Daredevil Fan Art Is Insane!!!

As you peruse the Internet  as much as I do you often find fan art depicting common characters such as Batman, superman, Transformers, and GI Joe. But rarely do you see pieces of The Man Without Fear, Daredevil. The artist gets even more points when they put Daredevil in his original yellow suit!!! Artist Joe Grampa really drilled this one.
