Happy Bday In Heaven Sean - A Look Back At the Great Sean Hartter Here On CCD!
June 22, 2014
X-Men: Days of Future Past Featuring The 70s Biggest Movie Stars by Peter Stults
I have features some of Peter Stults works here on CCD before, and whenever I see one of his new pieces posted online I am instantly reminded of my good friend Sean Hartter's works. We lost Sean way to soon (RIP brother) but the truth of the matter is that his style of wok lives on in guys like Stults's work. Stults channels that 'Alternate Reality' universe that Hartter perfected by subbing in crazy casting choices for movies of today featuring the stars of yesteryear. Can you imagine a X-Men: Days of Future Past featuring the 70s biggest and brightest? How about Al Pacino as Wolverine, or Julie Christie as Mystique? What about Terrance Stamp/ Lawrence Olivier as Old/Young Magneto, and Anthony Hopkins/John Gieguld as Old/Young Xavier? And Jim Kelly... Black Belt Jones himself... as BISHOP? That is a cameo I can get behind. Check out the full poster after the jump...

It's Official - CCD Blog Presents: Tommy Lombardozzi & The Hartter Family at The 2013 New York Comic Con!!!!
So any followers of our little blog know that over the past three years we have been given the honor of covering the New York Comic Con via press passes. These passes give us access to the show and allow us to do some really cool interviews (like this, this and this). We are gearing up for year 4 of Comic Con coverage, and this year looks to be the biggest one yet! But this year we are foraying into another venture at the show... and boy is it exciting. We are teaming up with fellow CCD contributor and artist extraordinaire Tommy Lombardozzi and the son of late artistic genius Sean Hartter (R.I.P. Brother) Griffin to have our own table in Artists Alley!!! Yup, pass by booth # Z - 18 and come enjoy the artistic stylings of Tommy, Sean and Griff... and who knows, maybe you will even take home something for your own collection that the boys have for sale. This is a new and exciting experience for us, so please come through and support the fellas if you happen to be in the building for the show. Check out a few things that will be for sale after the jump, especially the insane Jack Kirby inspired monster print of 'Goom' that was drawn by Tommy Lombardozzi and colored by Sean Hartter!

Happy Friday the 13th... Hartter Style!!!!
I thought today would be a fitting day to welcome Sean Hartter's (RIP Brother) work back onto CCD. Today is Friday the 13th, and Sean did a ton of Jason pieces before he passed away. But today is also special because we officially locked in our 2013 NY Comic Con table that will feature the works of Sean as well as his son Griff and friend of the blog Tommy Lombardozzi. This is a big step for us, and also a promise that I had made to Sean... so it is fitting that I am posting his work today as we get the big news. I can't wait to make him proud, and to watch his son take over the family business. It is going to be great! And they say that Friday the 13ths are supposed to be bad luck. Happy Friday the 13th everybody... check out Hartter's Jason pieces after the jump...

RIP Sean Hartter: 11/6/73 - 4/27/13
I woke up on Saturday morning tired from a long night of working at the bar. I got home around 7 am, and fell asleep instantly. I woke up around 1 pm to my phone buzzing incessantly. Who the fuck was blowing me up so much? Turns out it was my close friend Jeff Bond, and he was bearing terrible news. "Is it true? Is Sean Hartter dead?". What? What the fuck... I had just been speaking with Sean the night before. at around 10pm on Friday night. He was sharing a story on Facebook about an interaction he had with a shitty nurse on his last hospital trip, and I was chiming in with some witty comments about what he should have said to her. That was the last time I would interact with the guy. A few hours later the man would pass away from a massive asthma attack. Huh... life is fucked up like that. How could this be it?

Walls 360 Is A Bad Ass Stick 'Em Poster Company... And They Now Feature The Art Of Sean Hartter!!!
I am always on the lookout for new companies that are doing exciting things, but sometimes they come to me in very familiar ways. Walls 360 is a poster company that specializes in creating posters that stick directly to your wall and can be removed and re-stuck somewhere else. Kind of like what Fathead has been doing with sports figures (I love that commercial with Clay Matthews Jr chasing the Bears fan around after coming off the wall!). This is great, especially for kids, because they are not as fragile as regular prints and can be actually handled with the possibility of damage. They also do not need to be framed and can be posted pretty much on any surface. There are tons of designs available, things from classic architecture to video games. They also feature the work of certain artists, and one of those lucky guys just happens to be my main man Sean Hartter. Hartter has about 15 pieces up on the site, and his very unique artistic styling lend themselves well to this medium of prints. The coolest part about the site is that you can order the prints in a plethora of sizes, from as small as 9 x 12 for $15.00 to as giant as 46 x 60 for $125.00. And many other sizes in between as well ( for various prices). That mean you can find a piece you like and get a size that totally fits your budget. You can click here to see all that Walls 360 has to offer, or click here to see Sean's specific page over there. You can see some of Sean's pieces for Walls 360 after the jump...

Tuesday Triple Play From Sean Hartter
I love it when my boy Sean Hartter is productive, and boy has he been in the last few days. He has posted a ton of new pieces over at his website, but these three stand out as my faves. First up we get a neon version of Neil Blomkamp's District 9. Great colors on this one. Next up we get a classic mash-up of two great characters I would love to see clash, Conan & Godzilla. Imagine the war that would take place between teh great Gojira and Arnie? It would be epic! And finally we get a very cool faux VHS box art for Prometheus, which once again proves my point that Prometheus is a fucking Alien Prequel!!!! Damn you Jeff Bond... damn you to hell!!! Check out all of Sean's work by clicking here, and check out the three posters after the jump...

Nightbreed by Sean Hartter
I have posted about one of my favorite 90s horror movies, Nightbreed, a shit ton of times here on CCD. I mean alot... like here, here and here. So when I saw that my man Sean Hartter created a Japanese version of a Nightbreed poster, I flipped my shit. But what I think has to be the coolest part of the poster is that he managed to get a ton of the Midian monsters up in there as well as Dr. Dekker, who is probably the creepiest killer in the history of film that no one has heard of. Another excellent poster from Hartter... and now I gotta buy another one from him!!!! Can't wait to see this one on sale at our booth this October during NY Comic Con!!! Check out the poster after the jump...

Sean Hartter & Entertainment Weekly Team Up To Imagine The Future Of Iron Man & Disney After The Great Merger
Damn it feels good to see people up on it! Yup, I just quoted Puff Dady right there... and my words couldn't ring much truer. I have been extolling the virtues of the very talented artist Sean Hartter right here on CCD since way back in September 2010, and have developed an excellent relationship with the man that will finally come full circle when we team up for the CCD/Hartter booth at the 2013 NY Comic Con. So imagine how happy I was to get a message on Facebook from my buddy Sean providing me with a link to Entertainment Weekly's website, where he created 9 images for an online article by Geoff Boucher about the future of Iron Man after the great merger between Marvel and Disney. Boucher does a great job proposing some excellent team ups for Tony Stark to join Disney properties, and Sean uses his unique photo manipulation style of art to make these possible collabos come to life. There are 9 pieces created for the article, and they are exclusive to Entertainment Weekly online, so click here to see them in all their splendor. My personal fave is the Wizard of Oz and Tron mashups... and the Herbie the Love Bug one is classic! Good to see my man Sean getting some mainstream recognition from a big publication like Entertainment Weekly, and I wish him all the best in all his future endeavors. The guy has got talent, and talent goes a long way. Can't wait for October to expose all of NYC to his wonderful artwork....

Sean Hartter Has An Art Book Coming Soon... And We Are Going To Be A Part Of It!!!!
One of the coolest things about having this blog over the last few years has to be all the unique and interesting people I have interacted with due to the site itself. People who live half a world away (my Canadian brother Cal from The Cave of Cool), right near by (my main man Johnny from Freddy In Space), and people you get a chance to develop a working relationship. The latter is definitely the case when it comes to the comparable Sean Hartter, artist extraordinaire and someone who has developed into a close friend via our two blogs. I have kept in touch with Sean over the past few years, posting a ton of his work here on CCD. Sean has also been a huge help in promoting our site and even creating a few original posters for us alone, like our very own VHS box art & his special edition The Omen poster that was exclusive for CCD in his 31 Days of Halloween poster series. Now, in his latest post, Sean has revealed the cover for his upcoming art book and also confirmed that he will be collaborating with CCD for a booth at the 2013 NYC Comic Con! I for one am super excited for that weekend, and now we will have this boss ass art book to sell alongside his incredible prints. The CCD booth at Comic Con is gonna be pretty epic. Lots of great artists and friends will be involved. But truth be told, I am most excited to finally team up with my buddy Sean. If this art book is half as cool as this kick ass cover than we are in for a treat. Keep up with all the 2013 NYC Comic Con updates here on CCD and check out Sean's awesome book cover after the jump...

80s Toys by Hartter
My geeky man love for the art of Sean Hartter is well known, but the more I go through his back log of pieces over at his site the more I realize I need to share this amazing stuff with the world. I can't wait for October to roll around and we have our first CCD table at the New York City Comic Con in collaboration with my main man Sean. Today we will take a look at some of the retro 80s toys that Sean has created over the years via digital manipulation and his own unique stylings. Some of these are so well suited (Maximum Overdrive Optimus Prime? Yeah... that is perfect!), and some are a bit more ambitious (Leon the professional MOTU figure? WTF!!!!). either way, all of them are awesome. Enjoy them after the jump, and get on over to Sean's site and buy some of his prints. Like now....

We got some suggestions for you. Plus some bonus boobies and much, much more.... what are you waiting for? Get on after it by clicking on the links after the jump...
Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Animated Series by Sean Hartter
He's Backkkkk.... well, um, They're Backkkkkkk!!!! Both Leatherface and my man Sean Hartter are back here on CCD in this awesome piece of proposed VHS artwork. Leatherface is back in theaters this week with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D, so Sean decided to re-imagine the main character as if he was the star of his own Saturday morning cartoon. This is definitely a show I would watch because Texas Chainsaw is one of my favorite franchises ever. I wonder why in this day and age of fantastic animation we don't see more horror themed animated project? I think it would lend itself to the genre perfectly. Maybe Sean's piece will spark a fire under some animators butt and they will get this ball rolling. Check out the full piece after the jump...

CCD Presents: A One Time Screening Of Bad Santa!!!
I have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to work with Tugg, a new company that allows you to schedule one night only showings of some fantastic films on the big screen at your neighborhood movie theater. We have had a few false starts, but we have finally came to an agreement on our first joint venture. CCD is proud to team with Tugg to present the classic raunchy Christmas comedy Bad Santa!!! Watch Billy Bob Thorton & the late, great Bernie Mac fill the screen with drunken hi jinks and debauchery for one night on the big screen... the show will take place on Tuesday December 18th at 7:30 pm at the AMC Loews Village 7 in Manhattan. The catch is this: The screening will only take place if a certain amount of tickets are presold. That number is 70 (since I will be purchasing 2 myself) and the number has to be reached by December 13th. We need your support to get this screening going, so click here (or on the flyer in the sidebar) and head over to the Tugg page in order to purchase your tickets now.You will only be charged when the ticket count reaches 72. If the screening does not take place because we fail to reach the minimum number of tickets sold, you will never be charged at all. I hope to see all of you guys there, and that this is the first of many screenings we partner with Tugg to hold in the future. I am also looking forward to seeing the cool artwork that Tommy Lombardozzi and Sean Hartter are working on. for the screening. Hopefully we can get some prints made and have them for sale the night of the show!!! Click after the jump for some flyers designed by the incomparable Lockheed Lee after the jump...

Goom: A King Kirby Monster by Tommy Lombardozzi & Sean Hartter
Every once in a while great minds overlap each other and think about similar geeky obscure shit. When it happens it is truly mindblowing to everyone involved. This happened to me a few weeks back. I was on my way to buy some comics with my main man Tommy Lombardozzi when he told me that he had be doing a lot of art pieces consisting of old Jack Kirby monsters. He had just finished a really cool one, called Goom, and wondered if I had ever heard of the character. Turns out I have... because Goom is a favorite character of MY FAVORITE blogger Cal over at The Cave of Cool! Cal blogs about Goom & his son Googam all the time, and now Tommy is telling me he just completed a rendering of this obscure character... weird how it all crosses over, right? Anyway, the story gets cooler. Tommy did the drawing in black & white, and said he was going to add color later. But when our buddy Sean Hartter saw the B & W picture on Tommy's Facebook page he couldn't resist and decided to color it himself! The results are spectacular... a proper tribute to King Kirby if I do say so myself! Tommy is a killer artist and is trying to recover from losing most of his apartment in Hurricane Sandy, so please get over to his website and buy some of his amazing art. You can see both the Black & white and Color version of the Goom drawing after the jump... enjoy!!!!

CCD's Halloween Exclusive - Sean Hartter's 'The Omen'
Sean Hartter has developed into quite the friend of CCD. We will be collaborating with Mr. Hartter on a ton of projects over the next year, as well as partnering up with him to open our first booth at the 2013 NY Comic Con! So when I saw that my man Sean was doing a series of 31 Halloween movie poster re-creations I knew I would run every single one of them (Series 1 & Series 2 are right here), but I also wanted a special one that was just for the CCD readers (and anybody else that wanted to re-post it... hint, hint!!!!). so here is the exclusive poster Sean designed for us. I give you 'The Omen', the classic devil spawn flick that I have loved my whole life. Thanks for the love Sean. Check out the poster after the jump...
Sean Hartter's Halloween Movie Poster Roundup - Part II
So here is the second set of Hartter's wonderful Halloween Movie Poster Project. If you like the first set (see #1-15 here), than you are really gonna love these. Sean took a turn for the seriously weird and obscure with this second set, and he has also added a few fan favorite horror films (and some of mine as well!!!). Later on today I will be posting the CCD Exclusive Movie Poster that Sean did for us as a Halloween treat! Enjoy #16-31 after the jump...

Sean Hartter's Halloween Movie Poster Round Up - Part 1
My main man Sean Hartter is the real deal Holyfield when it comes to re-creating movie posters. The guy just has an unbelievable knack for being extremely creative in the way he re-imagines the marketing material for films. With the state of shit that the film poster industry is in now (if I see one more poster with floating heads or the hero in an action pose I am going to die!) it is refreshing to see someone like Hartter giving a new take on things. Seean decided to give himself a little challenge this month and create 31 unique pieces in honor of Halloween. He picked some classic films that most people know (like Halloween or Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and also some obscure gems (like Rawhead Rex & Haxan) that will have you searching out the films themselves to see for the first time. Today we will be looking at entries 1-15, tomorrow entries 16-31, and Wednesday (Halloween) you guys get treated to a special piece made just for us here at CCD!!! Can't wait for you guys to see that one. Check out the first installment after the jump...
