BBQ Films & The Deets Family Need Your Help... Only You Can Stop The Wedding of Beetleguese & Lydia!

Anyone worth their weight in sandworms knows the Tim Burton classic film Beetlejuice back and forth... it is a classic 80s film that hardly anyone can find a negative word to say about. So when BBQ Films was looking for a film to be the next subject of one of their wildly interactive film screenings, it seemed like a no-brainer that this piece of celluloid perfection be the choice! After some brainstorming sessions over pizza and wine ( I was there... both were plentiful!) and careful planning, another exciting event is ready to go! These are the guys & gals who brought you the Back to the Future/Enchantment Under the Sea Dance, The Blade Blood Rave and American Psycho's own Patrick Bateman's 27th Bday Party... So what will it be this time? Well.... they desperately need your help to STOP the nuptials of a nasty denizen of netherworld and a confused Gothic teenager! Check out the details after the jump...

Sean Hartter Has An Art Book Coming Soon... And We Are Going To Be A Part Of It!!!!

One of the coolest things about having this blog over the last few years has to be all the unique and interesting people I have interacted with due to the site itself. People who live half a world away (my Canadian brother Cal from The Cave of Cool), right near by (my main man Johnny from Freddy In Space), and people you get a chance to develop a working relationship. The latter is definitely the case when it comes to the comparable Sean Hartter, artist extraordinaire and someone who has developed into a close friend via our two blogs. I have kept in touch with Sean over the past few years, posting a ton of his work here on CCD. Sean has also been a huge help in promoting our site and even creating a few original posters for us alone, like our very own VHS box art & his special edition The Omen poster that was exclusive for CCD in his 31 Days of Halloween poster series. Now, in his latest post, Sean has revealed the cover for his upcoming art book and also confirmed that he will be collaborating with CCD for a booth at the 2013 NYC Comic Con! I for one am super excited for that weekend, and now we will have this boss ass art book to sell alongside his incredible prints. The CCD booth at Comic Con is gonna be pretty epic. Lots of great artists and friends will be involved. But truth be told, I am most excited to finally team up with my buddy Sean. If this art book is half as cool as this kick ass cover than we are in for a treat. Sneaker Freak Vol. #2 - Nike Kill Bill Kicks Are Deadlier Then The Bride Herself

Seeing this new pack of sneakers from Nike has proven to me that there must be a God... and not only is there a God, but he is listening TO ME. I have prayed for a collaboration between Nike and Tarantino, my favorite sneaker company and movie director, respectfully. These kicks are fire, and the thing that seperates this pack from the others is that BOTH pairs are hot... usually one pair is dope and the other is wack. Not the case here. Nike really got this one right. Beatrix Kiddo herself could be proud of these.

Let's break this wonderful pack down:


First up is the Big Nike High... breathtaking.

I love the all black uppers with the yellow base on the sole. The blood stains smeared on the side represent all the assasins that The Bride had to kill in order to get to the boss, Bill himself. The silver swoosh represents the blade of her Hatori Hanzo sword... these are beautiful kicks.

These are some of the nice collabo kicks I have ever seen. They really make you see the original work represented in the sneakers.

Next up we have the Nike Autoflight High:

These are not as fly as the ones above, but they are dope in their own right. All red suede uppers represent all the blood shed in Tarantino's gore fest, while the yellow inner sole is reminiscent of Uma Thurman's jumpsuit.

They are a nice pair of complementary kicks to the above pair, really embodying the spirit of the movies. Nike got this one right... but that is not it.

Look at the Inner Soles... its a hit list. Kobe Bryant's nickname is the Black Mamba, same as Thurman's character in the movie. The first two names on the list are Ray Allen and Paul Pierce, and they are crossed of cause Kobe beat them last year for the championship. The last three names are obscured, perhaps representing future conquest for Kobe and the Lakers. All in all, these are a must cop... go get em!!!!
