The CCD Podcast: Episode 21 - The 2014 Fall TV Preview or 'Comic Books Will Now Also Invade Your TV Sets... Whether You Like It Or Not !!!'

As September creeps by and we make moves towards our favorite (horror filled) month of October it is hard not to notice all of the brand spanking new TV shows hitting the airwaves on networks. This season seems to be mimicking the box office trends, because there are tons of new Comic Book themed properties on the way. Agent Carter, The Flash, Constantine, and Gotham will join Arrow, The Walking Dead & Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on the comic book/superhero front. Jedi Rob, Mike D, and Alicia also talk Hannibal, The Mindy Project, Boardwalk Empire, The New Girl, Sons of Anarchy, Selfie, American Horror Story: Freakshow and a whole lot more... get them DVR's ready, cause there are too many shows to watch live each night!  Please make sure you head over to Itunes so that you can Subscribe, Download, Listen and then SHARE on your favorite Social Networking platform.

Marvel's Netflix/TV Universe Has A Bright Future, And They Are Looking To Get Off To A Good Start Quickly...

So even though this was a tough week for Marvel's cinematic wing (they lost Edgar Wright as a director of 'Ant Man'), things are certainly looking up for the Netflix/TV division and are looking quite promising. The first season of S.H.I.E.L.D. is in the books and although the show started slow it did a fantastic job of meshing the cinematic and TV universes mid-season with Cap 2 (which came out smack in the middle of the season. It was done flawlessly. Now there are rumors of the 'Peggy Carter, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.' spin-off, period show (set back in the 40s and 50s) and the Netflix series that are finally getting cast ...and wow, Marvel doesn't seem to be playing around! First up... 'Daredevil'! We got our Matt Murdock, and also a show runner.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier or How Marvel Keeps Making Nearly Perfect Movies & Why I Love Them - A CCD Rant by Mike D

There are a lot of bigger, better, corporately sponsored websites & blogs out there covering pop culture, movies, and comics that get the scoop long before a movie is commercially released. They get to sit down with the creators, pick the brains of the actors involved, and visit the sets to see whats going on. They get to critique the films with early viewings, sometimes being able to watch the movie multiple times even before it gets released. And that is all fine and good... there is a place for that. But this is not that kind of place. I am just a regular schnook, running a regular blog from my house... and the closest I can get to a scoop is watching the movie at a midnight showing the day it comes out. That is good enough for me, and often leads to some of my aforementioned CCD RANTS by Mike D. They are often cathartic for me, and they get a bunch of my readers and friends to comment about my pros & cons. Today, the morning after watching Marvel's latest opus 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier', you guys get another rant from me.

You're welcome.... you're all WELCOME!!!

So here it goes. My Pros (many) & Cons (a few) of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Enjoy it (or rip it apart) after the jump...

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Is Looking Better and Better....

Great googly moogly! The more footage and featurettes that I see about the upcoming Marvel show, 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' the more impressed and excited I become. The newest featurette, Marvel has released, takes us behind the scenes and introduces us to the team that will be featured week to week on the show. The black ops agent, the computer hacker, the paper-pusher who should be in the field, the boy/girl scientist team.... yup, all the typical tropes for a team show are there. They are all lead by the fearless... and clearly not dead... Agent Coulson! This show clearly takes place AFTER the events of 'The Avengers', and Coulson obviously isn't dead... LUCY, YOU GOT SOME 'SPLAININ TO DO??? How is my man alive? And what about the rumors that we will see Maria Hill (the sexy ass Colby Smulders) on the show checking in from time to time? I also hope we get Samuel L.'s voiceovers directing the team in the vein of 'Charlie's Angels' since he won't appear consistently... OHHHH, the possibilities are endless. The show starts on Sept 24th and will be broadcast on ABC. Check out the featurette after the jump...

Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Gets It's First Promo - The Marvel Universe Invades A TV Set Near You!!!

Just picked up for next season, Marvel's show about S.H.I.E.L.D., the super secret spy organization in the Marvel comic book and movie universe. This seems like a great way for new characters and concepts to be introduced to the ravenous Marvel film fan base before showing up on the big screen in the summer blockbuster films. I am not sure if Coulson is alive or dead since I have no idea what time period this show is set in. I assume it comes after the first Avengers film. He could also be a LMD (life model decoy) which would be a great reveal to end Season 1. Check out more after the jump...
