'Batman: The Kill' - A Fan Film by Super Group Productions

Batman is long been the key characters that seem to fall into Fan Films. I don't know exactly why this is, but boy am I glad that people keep putting Mr. Wayne into these cool ass features. Take 'The Kill' from Super Groups Productions for example... no Joker or Penguin here. This one features some hard hitting villains like Mr.Zsaz, Black Mask, Hugo Strange, and the Scarecrow plaguing the Bat, and it is so well done it will it will be a good holdover until Nolan's last chapter comes out this summer. Obscure Batman Villains by Scarlett Veith

When you are an artists you cut your teeth on illustrating characters that others have created. It is good practice and teaches you to emulate the techniques of previously successful artists in the field. Once you begin to make a name for yourself, most artists still engage in producing some fan art to add their own twists and turns to a character. But deviant artist Scarlett Veith took quite a different approach for her "Batman a Week" series of drawings. She chose to highlight some of the more obscure characters of the Batman mythos, especially the villains. These are so awesome they hurt my brain. The Ratcatcher... really? And she even took on two of my faves, Solomon Grundy & Batzzaro. Check out the full run of the line by clicking here and click after the jump for some of my faves...

Community Gets A Superhero Makeover That Goes From Gotham To The Danger Room

This is really sad. I am probably one of the very few people left in my circle of friends who does not watch Community. I have seen episodes of the show, but I never watched it consistently. I know... I deserve to be punished. Anyway, given the fact that Community is currently hanging on for dear life (which makes no sense, because I heard NOTHING but GREAT things about this show) it seems multiple people are using the cast as fodder for fan art. Today we have two different "Team" shots of the gang, and both are wonderful. First we get a DC Comics take on the Greenvale Gang by Kinjamin in the style of the Bat Family & Batman's Rouge Gallery. Next, we take a trip to Westchester and get a X-Men styled portrait from artist Aviv Or. Gotta love these renderings, especially Ken Jeong as Nightcrawler. Check all three out after the jump...
