Lazy Sunday 2: Parns & Young Sandwich Get Down

Saturday Night Live's 'Lazy Sunday' skit came at the exact right time in the world... it was the perfect storm of events. A young up and coming comedian named Andy Samberg had no problem making a fool out of himself, the Internet was slowly gaining steam, and SNL was losing momentum as a show among the younger generation. But then 'Lazy Sunday' saw Chris Parnell & Andy Samberg embracing a great geeky day in Manhattan through a funny rap, and the video got CRAZY hits on a new website, Youtube. It was one of the first times a video LIVED ON long after the broadcast, and the rest is history. Samberg's SNL Digital Shorts have become the stuff of legend (Laser Cats & the Natalie Portman Rap are pure genius!!!) and they may be coming to an end with Samberg possibly leaving the show. So how do you end it on a solid not? You go out the way you started, with Lazy Sunday 2!!! Watch the newest Digital Short after the jump... we will always love love ya Young Sandwich!!!

The Cast Of SNL Explain Why Game Of Thrones Is SOOO Popular

One of the only funny parts of the recent SNL telecasts have been the skits featuring Andy Samberg. There are some other funny cast members, but the skits where he plays a main role seem to be the only ones worth watching. A few weeks back Andy and the gang to a look into what exactly makes Game of Thrones so popular. It is quite true that the conclusion they come up with may absolutely be the reason behind the high ratings. And seeing Bobby Moynighan as George R.R. Martin is worth watching the whole clip... Check the clip after the jump.

Where Do Monsters Go On Vacation?

Why... Hotel Transylvania of course!!!  What a great idea for an animated movie. Take the classic Universal Monsters (Dracula, Frankenstein, Wolfman, Mummy, etc)  and place them on vacation in a monsters only resort that is made for them to get some rest & relaxation away from the general public, and then introduce a regular person into the mix to throw everything off. This sounds perfect!!! Think about how much trouble the little girl (Boo) caused in the monster world in Monsters Inc... it is the classic role reversal story made more interesting due to the presence of monsters. Add in a great voice cast (Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Kevin James, Selena Gomez, Steve Buschemi, Ceelo Green, David Spade) from the regulars at Happy Madison and you get one hell of a good looking animated film... I hope Sandler & his crew sticks to these animated movies instead of the latest shit movies he has been putting up on the big screen. Check out the full trailer after the jump...

SNL Throwback of the Week #15 5/29/10

I am a huge Saturday Night Live fan. One of my earliest memories was of my parents watching SNL every Saturday while we were tucked in our bedrooms, and sometimes being allowed to watch for a bit. The show has gone through its ups and downs over its 35 year run, but the fact that it is still on the air after 35 years is a testament to the staying power of the show. Lorne Michaels is a genius at finding and developing young, comedic talent. SNL has produced a bevy of stars over the years, from Eddie Murphy to Tina Fey. The show is doing well again thanks to Ms. Fey and the rest of the team, but I love watching clips from the old shows. Every Saturday I will give you guys one of my favorites. This weeks clip features Natalie Portaman. There really is no way to describe the rapping tirade that she launches into when interviewed by Chris Parnell, and she is joined at the end of the rap by Andy Samberg. This is amazing... you must hear the original, unedited version which appeared on The Lonely Island's studio album. You can hear that version here. Enjoy!!!!!

SNL Throwback Of The Week #13 5/8/2010 - Mothers Day Edition

This weeks clip features Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake singing "MotherLover", the follow up to their Christmas hit " Dick in a Box" wth this classic about the best present that they can give each others mothers on Mothers Day. Love the cameo by Susan Sarandon as Andy's mom... she can still get it!!! Hope you enjoy this clip. Happy Mothers Day!!!! Live from my living room, it's Saturday Night!!!
