The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Looks... Well, It Looks Amazing!!!!!!

The official trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has officially been released... and well, in short it looks amazing! Absolutely amazing. So fantastic, I can't even begin to think it can be bad. I was not completely blown away by by the first film. I liked it, and it certainly had its moments. But it wasn't mind blowing... and I began to question exactly why we really needed a Spider-Man reboot so soon. But I am starting to see the light, and it is shining very bright for director Marc Webb and his talented cast. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are back as Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy, and this time around we get a glimpse at some super powered villains: The Rhino played by Paul Giamatti and Electro played by Jaimie Foxx. But the trailer holds many more secrets and reveals... like a sickly Norman Osbourne, a young Harry Osbourne discovering what Oscorp is really working on, proto suits for The Vulture and Doc Ock, and the idea that the Sinister Six will be in full swing once part 3 makes its way into theaters around 2016... wow, all of this in just one 3 minute trailer! Not to mention how dope Electro looks, how sick the Spidey stunts are, and how unbelievably hot Ms. Stone is! All in all, this definitely has me intrigued... and I can't wait for the May 2014 release. Check out the full trailer after the jump....

Even Though It Is Meant For Europe, Promotions Like These Scare Me...

I am looking forward to this summers Spider-Man reboot from director Marc Webb that is starring Andrew Garfield & Emma Stone. It looks to have been done very well, and the action scenes seem to be right on the money. But sometimes a films success is won or lost with the marketing campaign... just ask the people behind John Carter (a great movie that got smacked around cause it was promoted wrong). So far the gang controlling Spider-Man promotion here in the USA seem to be doing a great job... but how about their overseas counterparts? Check out this video after the jump featuring Garfield & Stone and make that decision for yourself... freaky ass Europeans!!!

'The Amazing Spider-Man' Trailer Hits... So What Do You Think?

Webb & Garfield at a Spider-Man press conference
Sometime yesterday afternoon the Amazing Spider-Man trailer hit, making it the third superhero movie (the leaked Avengers preview and The Dark Knight) that will not be out until next summer to release a trailer now. I am getting a bit tired of following all of this nonsense of talking about movies that are a year or more away from coming out, so I have not been covering all the news on these releases even though they interest me. Yet this trailer intrigues me because it showed 2:30 minutes of footage, and most of it was ACTUAL FOOTAGE. Bravo to Marc Webb and the team behind the Spidey reboot for putting out a trailer that ACTUALLY has images from the movie for me to get excited about. Chris Nolan may want to go the whole dark & mysterious route with a trailer full of whispering and old footage from his first two movies, but other then the 1 second shot of Bane's mask we saw NOTHING NEW. In this Spider-Man clip we get to see Andrew Garfield as both Peter Parker and Spidey, the sexy Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, and lots of the supporting cast. We also get to see the unique "Spidey's Eye View" perspective of Spider-Man swinging around that was absent from the Raimi movies. It's puts you right in the action. So what do you think? Are you in or out for this one? Tell us your thoughts in the comment section below.

Ok, Now I'll Talk About The Hunger Games

There have been tons of cast speculations, rumored stars attached, and typical internet nonsense associated with what is sure to be a tentpole movie franchise, The Hunger Games. Based on a trilogy of novels (The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay) by Suzanne Collins and making its way to the big screen next year, everyone has been buzzing about this one. So why haven't I covered it here on CCD very much (if at all)?

I haven't covered it because I hate the speculation game that the internet has become lately. They announce a movie and right away start attaching people to roles, bashing confirmed casting decisions, and criticizing something long before it even shoots in front of cameras. The tipping point for me was when they cast Andrew Garfield as the new Spiderman. People got mad at the casting and said dumb shit like he was to 'skinny' for the role. Wait... what? He is to skinny? He is playing a teenager, and the role was played by the elfish Tobey McGuire. Forget that Garfield is a proven actor who has had great performances... people wanted to bash the casting just to bash it. Since then I have made a concerted effort to steer clear of casting rumors and wait for concrete facts. In the case of The Hunger Games, we got that today.

Whats wrong with this? Nothing, that's what!

Jennifer Lawrence will be portraying the star of the book, Katniss Everdeen, in the movie version. When she was cast, people immediately got pissy. They whined that she was to blonde, and to old, and this and that.... yet they failed to acknowledge one thing: Jennifer Lawrence is a hell of an actress that was NOMINATED FOR AN ACADEMY AWARD LAST YEAR (and she probably should have one)!!!! Honestly, how can this be a bad thing? I want a good actress for the role.... this is fine for me. Here she is on the cover of Entertainment Weekly in the role. Judge for yourself.

EW of Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss.... nice!

Now, here are my critiques. First of all, I HAVE read the books and I loved them. Katniss is one of the strongest female characters I have ever read in any book, ever. Collins wrote her in such a way that you go from loving her to hating her to loving her again faster then you can turn a page. I enjoyed the books immensely, and when they cast Jenny Lawrence I was really excited. She is really hot, but she can fucking act. Watch Winter's Bone. That movie will change your life. Lawrence was nothing short of spectacular in that film, and it was a similar character to Katniss. So I am all in on this one. I can't wait to see this film. If you are a real fan of these books, you would love this picture and love Jennifer as Katniss. Stop being trolls and think before you type.

Ms. Collins, you killed it!

As for the rest of you guys and gals out there, you have at least a year before the film hits. I suggest getting the three books as soon as possible. They are fun and will be great summer reading, and Suzanne Collins shows authors like Stephanie Meyer how its done. They are only around 450 pages a piece, so make sure you get to these... you will not be disappointed.

So... 'The Amazing Spider-Man' It Is

Very well, very well... I have to admit that I like the use of the name 'The Amazing Spider-Man'. It's the original title of the classic series from way back in 1963, and I am glad to see Marc Webb going back to the series roots with the title. Now, as far as the suit goes... ehhhhh.

The suit looks a bit to blue for me. I don't like the blue in the gloves. I do like the web shooters, and the organic feel of the suit. It looks very neoprene-ish, which is dope. So I am kind of torn on this one. What do you guys think? Tell us in the comments section below.

The Vanity Fair 'Hollywood Issue' Cover... Yes Please!!!

Left to Right: Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal, James Franco, Jennifer Lawrence, Anthony Mackie, Olivia Wilde (Holy.Shit.WOWWWW), Jesse Eisenberg, Mila Kunis, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Andrew Garfield, Rashida Jones, Garrett Heldlund, Noomi Rapace, and Robert Duvall as the Bartender(in the background).

I can see they are going with a young Hollywood theme here (except for Duvall), which is fine, but I only have one question: Where is Natalie Portman, any of the Harry Potter and /or Twilight stars, and Emma Stone? How can you leave those guys out, with all they accomplished this year and all they got lined up next year... Who do you guys think VF forgot for this years cover? Tell us in the comment section below.

Hows That For Getting It Right...

Honestly, we internet bloggers and the people who read our stuff are so quick to point out whenever we think somone is doing something WRONG with one of our beloved properties (yeah I'm talking to you George Lucas haters and Schumacher Batman Haters...), yet don't often enough heap praise on the people who are trying to GET IT RIGHT with the characters that we love so much. So I'm going to do just that.

This weekend, Emma Stone was attending some press covered events and sported a bright blonde hairdo while doing so. This wouldn't normally be a big deal, but Stone (traditionally known as s redhead, but a natural blonde) is playing Gwen Stacy in the Marc Webb directed Spiderman reboot. And while the movie may suck ass (I thnk it will be ok... but thats just me), this casting is working out quite accurately. See for yourself:

Gwen Stacy in the comics:

And Gwen Stacy in real life:

Thats ok by me... lets just hope they keep the other characters and Spidey's suit as based in the source material as Ms. Stone's current "Gwen Stacy" makeover. We shall see...

That's It.... Now I'm Definitely In For The Spiderman Reboot!!!

When they said Marc (500 Days of Summer) Webb was going to direct the Spiderman reboot, I was mildly interested in the choice. Then Andrew Garfield was picked to be ole Webhead himself, and that interested me a bit more. Then we got Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy... and the eyebrows were starting to get that excited look. Rhys Ifans as The Lizard meant no more Green Goblin as the villain. That was great news. Then Martin Sheen and Sally Field as Uncle Ben & Aunt May. I was starting to become content with the direction of this feature. Then this... holy shit, there is a god. Goodness gracious, how can such a small character such as Betty Brant make any difference at all in this movie? Who the hell is Betty Brant? Well, here you go.

Betty Brant is a secretary at The Daily Bugle, and she was portrayed in the Sam Raimi Spiderman trilogy by the lovely Elizabeth Banks. She is spunky, quick witted, and holds her own against J. Jonah Jameson while mildly flirting with Peter Parker... and she is rumored to about to be played by... wait for it.... wait for it.... CCD's current favorite actress, the hotness that is Zooey Deschanel!!!!!!!!!!!

That's my heart right there....

Good Lawd!!!! Even if she is only in the film for a few minutes, this instantly becomes a better movie and a must see for me. Sure, say what you will... I swear I am not pandering cause I love me some Zooey. She is super talented, and gorgeous, and you know what else... this is my god damn blog, so if I wanna gush about Zooey D, then I will!!! If you don't like it, you can go read some other blog.... er, um... what I meant to say was, be ready for another knockout performance by the knockout we love to love. See you next year Zooey. Marc Webb should be nominated for man of the F'n year!!!!!

Aunt May, Uncle Ben... Check!!!

Goodnes gracious, Sony is pulling out the big guns for their upcoming Spiderman reboot... and they are aiming high for the supporting cast!!! Word has hit the interwebs (thanks Den of Geek & /Film for the tips!) that Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker will be taught life lessons by Martin Sheen & Sally Field as Uncle Ben & Aunt May. This is wonderful news. Think about this cast so far. Garfield is a great young actor... he really has chops. Will that make for a good wallcrawler? Lets hope so. Then you got the lovely Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy & former CCD Obscure Hot Chick of the day Elena Satine as Mary Jane Watson providing the sex appeal. Factor in Rhys Ifans as Curt Conners/ The Lizard, and you got yourself a pretty solid cast for Marc Webb's new take on everyones favorite neighborhood webhead.

I like some of the stuff they are doing, like the fact that Peter won't be with Mary Jane & the fact that they are using a villian in The Lizard that was teased but did not appear in the original trilogy. A lot of people (Um... JEFF BOND!!!) are a little concerned with the fact that they  are already rebooting a franchise that is still barely a decade old, and that point is extremely valid. With so much adaptable material out there, why re-tread this story... especially after Sam Raimi did it so well (um, well... 2 outta 3 aint bad, right?) But Marc Webb is a talented director, I am a huge fan of Garfield after The Red Riding Trilogy (watch this if you haven't seen it... Netflix Instant son!!!), and the supporting cast just keeps getting better and better.... I am starting to get more excited for this project. Let's see who the cast as J. Jonah Jameson. Nobody has ever given a more perfect depiction of a previously played character in history as J.K Simmons did... thats gonna be some tough shoes to fill. What are your thoughts on the Spiderman reboot? Tell us in the comment section below. We want to know what you think!!!

Say Hello To Your New Mary Ja.... Er, Make That Gwen Stacy In The Upcoming Spiderman Reboot

Emma Stone, that of Zombieland, SuperBad, and Easy A fame, is going to be playing one of Spidey's love interest in the new reboot of Marvel Comic's flagship character. There is only one catch. The dark haired Stone has been rumored to be playing Mary Jane Watson, a role that was previously filled by Kirsten Dundst (god I hate her). Instead, she will be playing Gwen Stacy, who is blonde and was played by a hair dyed (and F'n hot as shit) Bryce Dallas Howard in Spiderman 3. I am ok with this... and frankly, I wouldn't have minded her in either roles. I think she is very talented, gorgeous, and very well suited for the part. When you add her to the mix with Andrew Garfield as Spidey (we like him here at CCD) and rumors that Phillip Seymour Hoffman may be on board as a villian... well, lets just say our interest is peaked to say the least. We will let you know if we hear anything else. Thanks to /Film for the constant movie related updates.

OHC Of The Day: Elena Satine

Todays OHC (Obscure Hot Chick) is a young up and coming Russian actress by the name of Elena Satine. This red headed beauty hasn't done much acting yet (she has only appeared on a few shows like Cold Case) but she is poised to be chosen for a career making role: Mary Jane Watson in the new Spiderman reboot by director Marc Webb. I like this choice, mainly because I would like anyone better then that skank Kirsten Dunst. I truly hated her in the role, and since MJ was absolutely stunning in the comics... well, this choice is a no brainer!!! And the hair.... holy shit. She was born to play this role. I wonder if the carpet matches the pubes... er, yeah, forget it. Hopefully, she will get the role. Andrew Garfield has been cast as the new Peter Parker, and Elena would make a lovely and acurate addition to the cast. So, since there is a shot that she may portray comic book royalty on the big screen, I suggest you should familiarize yourself with Miss Satine. Enjoy the pictures... and tell us what you think in the comment section below!!!

Meet Your New Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman

Yup... thats right. This young buck right here, Andrew Garfield, is the new wall crawler in Marc Webb's Spiderman reboot film. Now, I'm not so sure about this guy. He has only been in a few movies ( Boy A, The Imaganarium of Dr. Parnassus) both of which I have not seen. With that being said... thank god they chose him over some of the other clowns they considered. Justin Beiber... really? Really??? I would have killed myself and Stan Lee would have probably committed a double homicide on the first day of shooting to prevent that kind of travesty from happening. Both Anton Yelchin (Charlie Bartlett) & Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass) had been considered, but its gonna be the Brit in the end. Now that we got that out of the way, lets focus on something much more important:

Which one of these guys (if not all of them) will be in the movie as the villian???
