Pregnetheus by James Lee

Prometheus is a polarizing film... probably the most polarizing film of the summer. Some love what Ridley Scott created, others really hate it. Either way, there are some really cool scenes in the film that people of both opinions probably like. One of those scenes has to be the surgery/abortion scene, in which Elizabeth Shaw excises a certain alien baby squid from her stomach in a surgery machine. It is epically brilliant, but animator James Lee thought he could amp up the action in it a bit. So he created Pregnetheus. Yup, I just typed that title!!! The Vanity Fair 'Hollywood Issue' Cover... Yes Please!!!

I can see they are going with a young Hollywood theme here (except for Duvall), which is fine, but I only have one question: Where is Natalie Portman, any of the Harry Potter and /or Twilight stars, and Emma Stone? How can you leave those guys out, with all they accomplished this year and all they got lined up next year... Who do you guys think VF forgot for this years cover? Here Is Rooney Mara as Lizbeth Salander... What Do You Think?

W magazine has Rooney Mara on the cover in costume as Lizbeth Salander from The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo... and as a fan of the original movie and someone who is reading the books, I must say I like the way it is shaking out! First, here is what Ms. Rooney looks like:

Wow, very different then when we highlighted her a few months back as Obscure Hot Chick of the Day. Looks pretty good to me... and I was a bit worried. But this is in the capable hands of David Fincher, and here is what he had to say to W on why he thinks he was picked to helm this controversial and long awaited Americanized version:

"I have no misconceptions; I know what the game is. They wanted me to do Zodiac because Se7en was successful and both are about serial killers. Now they offer me Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. They think, No one does perv quite like this guy."

That's so true, its scary. I'm officially psyched and a lot less worried about how they were going to tone down the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo for the American audience. New York Times Magazine: The Hollywood Issue - A Slideshow Of Stars

This weekend's NY Times Magazine is the annual Hollywood issue, and this year the magazine has invited some of this years brightest and best film stars to participate in a cool photo/video shoot. Film writer A.O. Scott provides this introduction to the photo/video project:

In the past, we have invited the year’s great performers to be themselves for the camera and, on video, to talk about what they do. This year, we asked them to do it: to show us — in a few gestures and with a few props but without dialogue or story — what acting is. And here they are, striking some of the classic attitudes of cinema, turning their bodies and faces into instruments of pure, deep and enigmatic emotion. — A.O. Scott

There are some big names here: Legends like Robert Duvall and Michael Douglas, hot young stars in the making like Jennifer Lawrence & Jessie Eisenberg, top of their game stars like Natalie Portman & James Franco, and CCD's favorite vampire/12 year old female crime fighter Chloe Moretz. There are 18 pics in all... hope you enjoy them. A First Look At Sherlock Holmes 2

Here is the first official screenshot of Robert Downey Jr, Jude Law, and Noomi "The Real Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" Rapace starring in Sherlock Holmes 2 from director Guy Ritchie. I can not wait for this one... coming December 2011. Gotta love it!!!
