News Team Assemble by Adam Limbert

It is Mustache Month over at Planet Pulp (I shit you not... all of their featured art this month features characters with mustaches!!!) and one of the best contributions so far has to have come from Adam Limbert. Limbert decided to create his own comic book that consists of a super team... but this ain't The Avengers. It's San Diego's Mightiest Heroes - The Channel 4 News Team!!! Lead by the mustachioed Ron Burgundy, they are the absolute top of the crop out in the So-Cal area. Forget those guys from Channel 2 News... those dirtbags have been in 3rd place for 5 years!!!! He's Back... Back In The San Dieg-ian Groove!!!!

Anchorman may very will be one of the funniest movies ever made, and it is definitively one of Will Ferrell most memorable performances. Even people who are not the biggest Ferrell fans find something likeable in the laugh fest that is Anchorman. The supporting cast (Paul Rudd, Steve Carrell, Christina Applegate, cameos by Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn, and Ben Stiller, etc...) is superb and the quotable lines are way to many to list here. But for the past 5 years we have been teased at the possibility of a sequel to no avail, as Paramount has balked at the sequel plans for quite sometime. But a certain Jazz flute playing newscaster showed up on Conan the other night and dropped a bombshell... as well as some witty comments and insults directed towards Conan. Before News Team 4, Ron Burgundy Auditions For Sportscenter

Anchorman is one of my favorite Will Ferrell movies, and the reason why this one stands out amongst his other classics is because of his portrayal of stereotypical 70's newscaster Ron Burgundy. Burgundy always talks like he is on camera, even when he is far from the studios set. His deadpan delivery and funny anecdotes are some of the best lines of the movie. I was watching SportsNation on ESPN the other day, and they aired this clip of Ron Burgundy auditioning for an anchor position at the newly formed ESPN back in August of 1979. He starts of on track, but things slowly spiral out of control... This is for all the Will Ferrell fans who don't watch ESPN and therefore would never be exposed to this gem of a commercial. Enjoy!!!
