Some of my earliest horror watching memories came courtesy of Tales From the Crypt on HBO. It was on cable, so they could get away with a bit more than The Twilight Zone or Tales From the Darkside could get away with on network TV. But I was not aware that the show was based on the classic EC horror comics of the 50s and 60s. As I got older, I gradually discovered these books and just how awesome they were. I have also revisited the original HBO series and it holds up amazingly... great actor, terrific story lines and that creeptastic Crypt Keeper. Now the Crypt Keeper, The Old Witch and The Vault Keeper from the original EC Comics get the Mondo poster treatment, and they are awesome!
