Even The Viral Marketing For "Chronicle" Looks Bad Ass

I am really starting to get psyched for the upcoming film "Chronicle", which gets released tomorrow night. The teen superpower film certainly looks stylistic and the effects look to be very well done, so  naturally I want to see if the feature lives up to the hype of the trailer. But one thing is for sure and that is that the powers that be behind the film are definitely promoting it with some cool viral marketing. Thinkmodo was hired to simulate a "Flying Men" video around NY where they built 3 model airplanes into the shape of humans and flew them around NYC. The effect that is given truly looks like real people flying around things like the Brooklyn Bridge & the Statue of Liberty, which happens to be one of the powers the teens have in the film. It is amazing how realistic these models look. Very cool way to promote what looks to be a very cool film. We shall see tomorrow. check the promo video after the jump...

Freddie Wong Uncovers The Secret Of The Fire Flower

Freddie Wong is the shit, 'nuff said. Kid got skills when it comes to making viral videos... no doubt about that. But every once and a blue him and his gang come up with a killer nerd concept that has to be highlighted. Not that his other videos aren't great, but they just have that certain geek appeal that makes them a must to re-blog. This weeks entry is one of those times. Check out Freddie as he journeys to find the sacred Fire Flower of Super Mario Brothers fame (he even travels via map, a la Indy!) and then figures out just how to use it's power. Unfortunately, things can't all go smooth. 'Bad Ass' Looks Pretty... Bad ASS!!!

The trailer for Danny Trejo's new flick 'Bad Ass' has been making it's way around the Internet, and it is sparking all types of controversy. Is this a real movie? is this really gonna happen? Can a film possibly be THIS BAD ASS? Trejo looks like he is going even more over the top than he did in Machette... and that is WAY over the top. But on another note, I think this is exactly what Trejo should be doing. These movies are wacky, look like they are relatively inexpensive to make, and are putting Trejo in a starring role instead of being a supporting character. Considering the success of grindhouse-type fare such as Hobo With A Shotgun, Death Proof and Machete in recent years, I think this would go over gangbusters. Enter in Ron "Hellboy" Pearlman and Charles "Roc" Dutton into the mix and this movie looks unreal. What do you guys think? This 'Stake Land' Video Shows Us How Parents Treat Their Kids Once They Become Vampires

Check out this cool ass viral video from the 'Stake Land' film universe. For those of you who do not know what 'Stake Land' is, it's a new horror movie from Jim Mickle that stars Connor Paolo, Nick Damici, Danielle Harris, Kelly McGillis, Sean Nelson, and Michael Cervesis.... and it is super violent! See for yourself in this video entitled "The Uprising Has Begun"



I had the pleasure of screening it last month with my CCD brother-at-arms Tommy Lombardozzi (review coming soon!!!!), and I have to say that the movie significantly impressed me. This new take on the vampire outbreak/epidemic film is a stunning vision that most vampire movies only wish they could be. The twists and turns that Mickle incorporates into the traditional vampire mythos make for a fascinating movie. The above clip speaks to just how far the violence that the film contains. Make sure you check out the movie on Friday April 22nd wherever they show independent horror movies in your area. Trust me... you won't be disappointed!!!

The Chronicles Of Rick Roll - Viral Video Stars Of The Web Join Forces

Here is a very slickly put together trailer for Andrew Fischer's new film 'The Chronicles of Rick Roll'. Fischer gets all the web's viral video 'F-list' stars to make a movie that seems to be a cross between 'Alice In Wonderland', 'The Lord of the Rings', 'The Chronicles of Narnia' and the 'Twilight Zone'.
