'I'd Buy That...As a Tee!' Vol 11 by Jeff Bond

Feels like Summer..... and I could use a few new unique t-shirts to really make a statement without saying a word. A statement like "I'm a geek that doesn't take much of anything seriously...I'm approachable and easily abused."

Here's some of the t-shirts I have my eye on to do just the trick but, there's only one problem....they aren't for sale yet! It looks like Threadless just closed it's Summer Challenge but, there's quite a few unique designs with some time left on their voting clocks.


'Super Maui O' covers all the bases on a vacation themed plumber's holiday. Check out Starman's one-piece bathing suit...and Bullet Bill hanging ten.

I'm pretty sure there's no plausible science behind 'Surf to the Future'...but I like the design.

The evil Shredder has gotten into the warm weather fun in 'Turtle Trap'...."get 'em while they're young," I always say. ;)

...and speaking of traps, 'Captured' has the reds right where the green troops want 'em! I MUST have this T-Shirt. I MUST!!!

'Summer War' stirs up the nostalgia of a time inwhich all things could be settled with a full water pistol.

I'd most likely NEVER where these next two designs but, I LOVE their concepts and they gave me a chuckle.

First up, 'Bloodnade' serves up some human for a change.

...and 'Summer Surprise' draws back the trenchcoat to reveal the sun's naughty truth.

'Siren's Song' feels like summer with this delicious take on a famous 'Little Mermaid' or one bearing it's teeth in the latest installment of 'Pirates of the Caribbean'. Sexy-ass Fish!

Finally, who says Sith have no fun? 'Darth Summer' got Vader all decked out for the heatwave.

LEGO Iconic Vol #11 by Jeff Bond

I am such a huge Lego nerd that words can not explain. Soooo I've decided to use my favorite blog site CCD.com as an outlet to get some of this stuff that I see every day, built out of bricks, out of my skull and onto the blogosphere where it can't hurt my cerebral cortex. Each month I'll be posting the best of the best hoping to inspire the Lego maniac in each of you...young and old.  Enjoy!

Getting things started off this week is Legohaulic who hustled this month to create a ton of Lego iconery (spellcheck says that's not a word! F you spellcheck!)

'TV Show Mashup' is a mutli-generational geek's dream pairing the comedic duo from 'Gilligan's Island' with the island landscape of 'Lost'. Looks like 'The Skipper' and his 'Little Buddy' just stumbled upon the hatch that poses a question which poses another question ....and another question...and another. For their sake, I hope it's just Ginger down there slipping into something more comfortable. Loving the small dome shaped piece used to create the Skipper's jolly belly.

'TV Show Mashup'

'Atlantean Warrior' is another piece dreamt up by Legohaulic, with what appears to be quite a few 'Lego Bionicle' pieces used in a not-so-orthodox way to create the armor of an undersea gladiator. I'm not sure where those fin pieces originate from but I MUST get my hands on some. You know...for voyages to the bottom of the sea! 

'Atlantean Warrior'

I'm sure Theodore Geisel, himself, would be very proud to have inspired such a piece from Legohaulic. 'A.B.S. Snorter & His Lego Brick Sorter' imagines one of Dr. Seuss' vehicles down to the multi-extended robotic hands and cartoon gloves. Here's those posable fingers and hands I pointed out in my last installment, put to use in a wubbulous way. Watch as the bricks get picked up here, vacuumed up there, and sorted in all different fantasmagorical ways! I dunno how he did it but 'haulic seems to have eliminated most traces of brick-top to display a clean, cartoon like surface on everything in the piece...except for the sorted bricks that it!

"One Man Disney Movie" Will Blow You Away

Check out this wonderfully done video compilation from Nick Pitera in which he takes on multiple roles from all of your favorite Disney classics. He is the heroine, the sidekick, the hero, the chorus, and the villain... all in one video!!! Great lines and songs from Disney hits such as 'Aladdin', 'The Lion King', 'The Little Mermaid', 'Enchanted' and many more... this is great!



Sure, it's a bit weird that this 24 year old is making videos like this, but he is seeking a career in animation... he really loves his Disney! Good for him... I really like him finishing up with "When You Wish Upon A Star..." Anybody who has ever been to Disney in Orlando, Fl knows just how emotional it can be when you see the fireworks pop off over Cinderella's Castle at closing time... and this song always reminds me of that. Good job Nick... keep the vids coming!!!

Disney and Leibovitz Rub Elbows With Celebrity Elite

While on the Disney Theme Park website, finishing the final adjustments on my 8-Day vacation package plan (the date of which is rapidly approaching), I spotted these whimsical Disney celebrity makeover shots, famed photographer, Annie Leibovitz concocted for a ad campaign to be featured in Lifestyle Magazine beginning in April.

Some may recall that that Leibovitz was responsible for a similar star-studded campaign back in 2007 featuring the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Lopez, & Beyone' (and many more!)
