No matter what at some point in peoples lives music plays an integral part in developing their identity. This identity sticks with them throughout their lives, and while musical taste may change (for better or worse...lol) as we get older, the one thing that remains are those seminal albums that formed us as music lovers. Album covers have always played a huge part in this. The album cover is the most universally recognizable tie in for fans of an album. Some might like certain songs, or some may argue which album they like best from an artist. But the one uniform thing all people share would be the album covers. They tie it all together for everyone. While this may not be the case anymore due to most people consuming digital music (who knows what the newly released album covers are anymore?!?), for us growing up in the pre-digital revolution these album covers were works of art that we will cherish for ever. So we decided to make that the theme of our next group art show, The CCD Record Collection... and also thought it would make a great topic for a round table podcast discussion! This past Saturday on June 20th The CCD Art & Supply Co. organized our 4th live art show at the Irish Haven in Brooklyn, NY. The theme of the show was simple: HBO. What network has accomplished a wider range of classic shows and events over the past 35+ years? How many properties have they put out and have become a persons "all time favorite show"? It is just staggering. From the childhood memories of Fraggle Rock to my college years of never missing an episode of The Sopranos to this past years successes of Game of Thrones & true Detective... man, I sure do have a lot of love for HBO. So we assembled a crew of 20 amazing artists to all take on their personal favorite HBO programs... and the results are JUST AMAZING! Hello, friends! We here at the CCD Art & Supply Co. are gearing up for our 4th group art show. It is taking place at the Irish Haven on Saturday, June 20th, 2015 at 8pm. And it's called....

"THE HBO SHOW!"

19 contributing artists will create original art pieces celebrating the original programming of Home Box Office throughout the years! Every artist picked out a show and created an ORIGINAL piece of art featuring characters from that show! We assembled a killer group of artists (20 TOTAL) and the pieces have been rolling in and are fantastic!!! Here are the artists that will be participating:

On February 7th, 2015 The CCD Art & Supply Co. held are 2nd art show. The St. Valentine's Day Massacre: Mob Movies... In Blood Red! was a great success, with 16 amazing pieces being a part of the show and 14 out of 16 of those pieces being sold on the night of the show! Photographer Tammy Cedar took some candid black and white shots that night, and this is where I will share them with you. Another Excellent CCD Art & Supply Art Show In The Books... Here Are The Pieces!

On Saturday February 7th The CCD Art & Supply Co. put on our 2nd live art show at the Irish Haven in Brooklyn, and boy it was something special. The St. Valentine's Day Massacre: Mob Movies... In Blood Red was a perfect show theme to fit with this time of year. All that lovey dovey nonsense isn't our style here at CCD... we decided to pay homage to our favorite Mob movies in honor of the monstrous gangland slaying ordered by Al Capone. We picked out 16 artists, and the 16 classic mob movies. We put them in a randomizer... and after the assignments were given the rest was history. We got 16 killer (pun intended) pieces, and the night of the show we were fortunate enough to sell 14 out of 16 pieces. 14 OUT OF 16!!! That is just too dope... to dope indeed! It was a big night for The CCD Art & Supply Co. and we have made some insane connections with the hope of putting on even more killer events in the future.
