It's that time of year again... the time when the CCD family gathers together down in Coney Island for a day of SUN, FUN, LIVE MUSIC & ART... It's the 4th annual CCD Block Party!!!! Join us as we team with The Jerry once again at Steeplechase Beer Garden (1904 Surf Ave at the base of the Brooklyn Cyclones stadium) starting at 2pm for a day FILLED with local music & art. 

7 Bands performing LIVE!!!! Over 20 artists displaying their own creations where they RE-IMAGINE great album covers of the past. Obnoxiously large cold beers & drinks, delicious food and of course we are only ONE BLOCK from the beach... what more can you ask for on a summer Saturday? PLUS THE VENUE IS FAMILY FRIENDLY... BRING THE KIDS!!!

The CCD Podcast: Episode #102 - Small Screams: Terror From The TV Art Show

Horror on the television screen is nothing new... hell, there have been horror themed TV shows since the 1950s! But with the genre exploding on TV now (The Walking Dead, American Horror Story, The Strain... shall I go on?) we decided this would be a perfect subject for our next CCD art show. So we put together the Small Screams: Terror From The TV art show, which will take place on Saturday October 22nd at the Irish Haven.

Rob welcomed Mike D and Tommy Lombardozzi (both have pieces in the show) down to the CCD Nerd Cave to discuss TV Horror over the years and preview some of the subjects that were adapted into pieces for the show. if you love horror TV give this one a listen!

The CCD Podcast: Episode #97 - CCD's Second Summer Block Party & Record Collection Art Show!

Them CCD Boyz are back at it again, throwing another awesome art show for all of us to enjoy. The event is CCD's Second Summer Block Party taking place on Saturday July 16th, 2016. We will be doing a second installment of our "Record Collection", which will feature over 25 artists re-designing great album covers in their own unique style. Last year we got some awesome submissions (click here to buy some prints now), but we are expecting even greater results this time around!!! We are also teaming up with music promoter/producer extraordinaire Jerry "The Jerry" Farley who has organized quite an awesome lineup of live music performers set to rock the Steeplechase Beer Garden stage in Coney Island starting at 2pm! We decided to have Jerry come to the Nerd Cave for a sit down to talk about music, album artwork, and all types of other topics related to the world of music.... another great podcast from Jedi Rob and the CCD Crew. The CDD Podcast: Episode #59 - CCD's Favorite Album Covers or "We Have The Record Show Collection Art Show Coming Up So This Topic Seemed To Make A Lot of Sense..."

No matter what at some point in peoples lives music plays an integral part in developing their identity. This identity sticks with them throughout their lives, and while musical taste may change (for better or worse...lol) as we get older, the one thing that remains are those seminal albums that formed us as music lovers. Album covers have always played a huge part in this. The album cover is the most universally recognizable tie in for fans of an album. Some might like certain songs, or some may argue which album they like best from an artist. But the one uniform thing all people share would be the album covers. They tie it all together for everyone. While this may not be the case anymore due to most people consuming digital music (who knows what the newly released album covers are anymore?!?), for us growing up in the pre-digital revolution these album covers were works of art that we will cherish for ever. So we decided to make that the theme of our next group art show, The CCD Record Collection... and also thought it would make a great topic for a round table podcast discussion! This past Saturday on June 20th The CCD Art & Supply Co. organized our 4th live art show at the Irish Haven in Brooklyn, NY. The theme of the show was simple: HBO. What network has accomplished a wider range of classic shows and events over the past 35+ years? How many properties have they put out and have become a persons "all time favorite show"? It is just staggering. From the childhood memories of Fraggle Rock to my college years of never missing an episode of The Sopranos to this past years successes of Game of Thrones & true Detective... man, I sure do have a lot of love for HBO. So we assembled a crew of 20 amazing artists to all take on their personal favorite HBO programs... and the results are JUST AMAZING! Hello, friends! We here at the CCD Art & Supply Co. are gearing up for our 4th group art show. It is taking place at the Irish Haven on Saturday, June 20th, 2015 at 8pm. And it's called....

"THE HBO SHOW!"

19 contributing artists will create original art pieces celebrating the original programming of Home Box Office throughout the years! Every artist picked out a show and created an ORIGINAL piece of art featuring characters from that show! We assembled a killer group of artists (20 TOTAL) and the pieces have been rolling in and are fantastic!!! Here are the artists that will be participating:

On February 7th, 2015 The CCD Art & Supply Co. held are 2nd art show. The St. Valentine's Day Massacre: Mob Movies... In Blood Red! was a great success, with 16 amazing pieces being a part of the show and 14 out of 16 of those pieces being sold on the night of the show! Photographer Tammy Cedar took some candid black and white shots that night, and this is where I will share them with you. Another Excellent CCD Art & Supply Art Show In The Books... Here Are The Pieces!

On Saturday February 7th The CCD Art & Supply Co. put on our 2nd live art show at the Irish Haven in Brooklyn, and boy it was something special. The St. Valentine's Day Massacre: Mob Movies... In Blood Red was a perfect show theme to fit with this time of year. All that lovey dovey nonsense isn't our style here at CCD... we decided to pay homage to our favorite Mob movies in honor of the monstrous gangland slaying ordered by Al Capone. We picked out 16 artists, and the 16 classic mob movies. We put them in a randomizer... and after the assignments were given the rest was history. We got 16 killer (pun intended) pieces, and the night of the show we were fortunate enough to sell 14 out of 16 pieces. 14 OUT OF 16!!! That is just too dope... to dope indeed! It was a big night for The CCD Art & Supply Co. and we have made some insane connections with the hope of putting on even more killer events in the future. We also may have sold 14 of the 16 originals, but we have EACH AND EVERY PIECES available for sale in 8 x 10, 11 x 14 and 16 x 20 size prints on high quality Kodak stock. CCD Had It's First Art Show... And It Was A Perfect Way To Kick Off All Horror Week For 2014!!!

Wow... it came fast, and it went just as quick!!! CCD planned it's first ever art show... and boy was it a doozy! Monsters, Maniacs and Mayhem: A Black & White Tribute To The Golden Age of Universal Horror Films saw us pick 15 of the greatest Universal Horror movies of the 30s, 40s, and 50s and ask some of our most artistic friends to do their best rendition of the characters. The result? 14 amazing pieces (one artist, who shall remain nameless CHRIS, did not get his piece done in time) that came out insanely good!!! All the classics are represented, as well as some lesser known characters. We worked with some close friends of the CCD family (Tommy Lombardozzi, Lockheed Lee, and Joey Esq) as well as some new ones (Liza Biggers, Erle Tompkins, and Al Accettura)... but there was one thing that all the artists had in common: All the pieces were AMAZING!!!! We even got a show poster courtesy of Sean 'Create Ink' Hamilton, of the legendary League of Geekz podcast! Best part of the whole night was that 9 out of the 14 original pieces sold!!! An overall successful night, the first of many to come from this new group of artists down with the CCD Fam. Thanks to the Irish Haven, all the artists involved, and all that helped out with this great event. We will have many more art shows to come in the future. They discuss the 15 movies that we here at CCD selected for the art show, and Poppa Martin's extensive knowledge of all things Black & White horror is quite impressive and on display with his young padawan.
