Oscilloscope Laboratories is a great independent film distribution company that was started by the recently deceased Adam Yauch (MCA of the Beastie Boys) back in the day and has a track record of distributing really cool foreign and independent films. They also are known for releasing a Halloween short every year, and this years entry is really spooky! It involves a singing cavalcade of children, all face painted and creeping the fuck out of the adults in the piece. Fantastic!!! Check it out after the jump, it is superb as usual.

MCA Takes On The X-Men by Steven Howard
I am still having a hard time dealing with the fact that MCA of the Beastie Boys is dead and gone. It is just such a crushing blow to my childhood, and I regret not being able to see the Boys in concert ever again. But things like this comic strip celebrate his life and make missing him a bit easier. Artist Steven Howard depicts MCA in a very "Fight For Your Rights" moment with two of the most famous X-Men, Cyclops & Wolverine. These guys are not to be trifled with, but MCA lets em have it Beastie style!!! Check out the full comic strip after the jump...

R.I.P. Adam Yauch - Gone Way To Soon
I have been away from this blog over the past few days, so I have not really had the chance to convey just how sad I am over the death of Adam Yauch, aka MCA, of The Beastie Boys. I have been a fan of the Beasties since the tender old age of 7. Yeah, I said it. SEVEN. I was in second grade at P.S. 207 elementary school in Howard Beach, NY when 'License to Ill' was released back in 1986. Even though I may have been a bit young for the crazy sentiments contained on the album, but I had an older sister, Oona, who was in the 6th grade. Her and her friends embraced 'License To Ill' with a furor that only teenagers could do, and the album was EVERYWHERE. It was so popular it was trickling down to the kids in school who were still in single digits. Man was that album epic....

The Beastie Boys Are Back... G.I. Joe Style!!!
This is the video for the Beastie Boys new song 'I Don't Play No Games That I Can't Win' featuring Santogold, and it's directed by one of my favorite director's, Spike Jonze. I have always loved Jonze's 'Sabotage' video he did for the Boys, so this one was a must see for me and he did not disappoint. I love the action figure stylings. You can see the video in it's entirety after the jump below. What did you think? Tell us in the comment section below.

What Happened After The Party???
That's the question that Beastie Boy & short film director Adam Yauch is going to answer in Fight For You Right Revisted. Yauch takes a look back at the events that immediately followed the raucous party in the Beastie Boys seminal hit "Fight For Your Right (To Party!!!)". I always loved the Beastie Boys... one of the reasons was probably because they had a member named Mike D! It was always cool rapping those parts of the song when he would say his name. But even though the premise of this short film sounds great enough, Yauch has put together a star studded dream team of a cast to bring it to life. Here are the films version of The Beastie Boys:
Yup, that is Seth Rogen, Elijah Wood, and El Flama Blanca himself Danny McBride playing the classic hip hop trio!!!! You gotta be kidding me. Not to mention that the film will also feature John C Reilly, Will Ferrell & Jack Black... I can not wait for this one. I love the way they meticulously recreated the outfits the guys wore in the original video. Check out the 1986 video, and stay tuned for more news on when & where us regular folks can see this one. How do you feel about this cast? Tell us in the comment section below...
