The CCD Podcast: Episode #72 - Live From The Floor of New York Comic-Con 2015 " I Can't believe They Gave Us A Booth At This Thing ?!?"

In what has been a whirlwind week we here at CCD.NYC had the privilege of having our very first BOOTH at NYCC. Located in The Block section of the floor (where all the cool kids are!), we repped our brand hard and did some amazing things. We launched our first custom toy collaboration with Joey Armao (The CCDemons were a big hit), we sold the original art of over 20 artists (prints available now by clicking here), and we even had a hidden backroom area where we recorded some amazing podcasts! Rob & Leland also took to the floor to interview some of our favorite vendors, and the results are amazing (a montage video is coming!)... so give our NYCC 2015 Episode a listen ya'll!

CCD Live From 2015 NYCC - The Scumbags & Superstars Crew

There are tons of street wear brands present at NYCC, but few boast as cool of a collection of Vintage Mad Balls to go along with their gear like the gang of Scumbags and Superstars. This crew that was based out of BK (but the store is moving to the Lower east Side later this year) offer tons of cool as swag (shirts, pins, stickers, hats, etc) over on their website.  The gang was cool enough to chat with us, so you can check that video out after the jump. CCD Live From 2015 NYCC - Mitch From St. Mark's Comics

The gang over at St. Marks Comics have become like family to us here at CCD. They have us host their kick off to NYCC Super Week every year (Here is a link to this years podcast) with our podcast, and we have purchased many a comic and pieces of pop culture memorabilia over the years. CCD Live From 2015 NYCC - Fat Guy Inc!

We have had many relationships form in our years covering NYCC, but one of the coolest we have developed is our bond with the dudes of Fat Guy Inc! Peat Vazquez and Brendan Shaw are two awesome dudes that do great work... and they have become significant contributors to many CCD art shows. CCD Live From 2015 NYCC - Horror Show Jack, Fangsmith

Horror Show Jack is the exact kind of vendor that we look to speak to at NYCC. He is offering a bad ass product that is unique and all it's own. Jack makes fangs... custom fangs. In just a few short minutes one can get a mold made and custom fangs created right on the spot by this terrifying individual, And they are awesome! CCD Live From 2015 NYCC - Epyon 5 and Rocky Horror Saved My Life!

NYCC brings out the best in collaborations, especially within certain booths. We stumbled upon one that featured 4 SEPARATE ARTISTS under one tent... all cool in their own way. We spoke to artist Epyon 5 about his stencil artwork as well as his part in the documentary film "Rocky Horror Saved My Life", which is due out soon. SprayGround is one of the hottest backpack companies in America, and if you check out any teens heading to High School every day then you are sure to see their designs. But they are much more than just school bags... they are a lifestyle brand that is incorporating EVERY AND ANYTHING in pop culture you can think of, from TMNT to Spongebob. CCD Live From 2015 NYCC - JunkFed...

They say you can't pick your family... and that is true. But it is also true about your booth neighbors at NYCC. You book your booth and you really have no choice on who you are going to get stuck with next to you for 4 days. This being CCD's first NYCC show as a vendor had us worried... but boy did we luck out! We got stuck next to (or rather he got stuck next to us) the cool as fuck Todd Rodgers, the creator of the custom/bootleg toy line Junk Fed! This guys products are top notch, but his nostalgia level is on 1000% all the time in all of his work. In between selling cool ass toys, prints and even coloring books (I love this guys) Todd took a minute to chat us up. While we wandered around the floor of the 2015 NYCC it was hard not to run into some cool individuals. You know you are going to see 1000 Deadpools and Harley's, some great Darth Vaders and a ton of Batmen... but some people might not have the greatest costume but are having the most fun! One of the coolest booths we came across while touring the floor of the 2015 NYCC had to be the Little Punk People. It is not very often you see this much artistic talent in one person, let alone a family unit... but this team of Daniella, Justin and Elliot Fullam are doing just that. Creating unique sculpture based art in AMAZING way, these guys are the exact kind of people we like to highlight in our coverage. The CCD Podcast: Episode #71 - The 2nd Annual "Live From St. Mark's Comics" Podcast to Kick OFF NY Super Week & Comic-Con or "I Can't Believe They Asked Us Back!!!"

We here at CCD have been very lucky to have had some great memories and have attended some dope events due to the credibility that the website has given us. Whether it was attending early movie premieres or interviewing nerd celebrities on the main floor at NYCC, it has certainly been a wild ride. But one of the coolest things we ever had the pleasure of doing was hosting our 1st LIVE Podcast to kick off NY Super Week last year at St. Mark's Comics in NYC. It was so great! We got to interview the owner of the shop himself Mitch Cutler, had some of the CCD fam jump on for a minute, and overall had a great show. It was one of CCD's best moments.

Fast forward one year and NYCC is right around the corner again. It has been a big year for us, and we are gearing up for our very own BOOTH on the main floor of NYCC (Booth #222... come see us). But one of the coolest things surrounding this years Super Week & NYCC has to be that Mitch asked us back to host The 2nd Annual LIVE CCD Podcast recording! What an honor. This time we had to step it up, so in addition to interviewing the bossman of St. Mark's himself we sat down with a handful of CCD affiliated artists who will have prints available for sale at our NYCC Booth! It was a great show, and we are so proud of the event... we sure hope St. Mark's asks us to come back for ROUND 3 NEXT YEAR!
