Hurley vs. Don Draper... "Dude!" vs. "What?"

Oh... my... god... this video is sooooo amazing! Thanks to the guys over at Warming Glow for this cool video that highlights Hurley from Lost saying his trademark "Dude!" and Don Draper from Mad Men saying his trademark "What?"... did you ever realize just how much they are saying these two simple words. Weezer's New Album Is Called "Hurley"... Yup, That Hurley

I always wondered just how hard it is for a band to come up with the name for a studio album. Some are strange (Wu Tang - Enter The 36 Chambers), some are funny (Gym Class Heroes- As Cruel As School Children), some are serious (Jay-Z - Th Black Album), etc.... but every once in a blue the band must get stuck. Apparently, Weezer just met Jorge "Hurley" Garcia from Lost, and they became fast friends. Here they are in the studio chillin:

So when the band couldn't come up with a title for their new album, they just decided to crop the above picture and call it the "Hurley" album in honor of Jorge. Ironically, the guys in the band are just starting Lost on DVD (WTF, where you been???) so its not because of their overwhelming love for the show... it was all about the vibe they got from chilling with Jorge (God knows they must have ate good when they chilled... look at the size of that guy!!!) Anyways, here is the album art. Check for the Hurley album to be in stores soon.

Like! Like? Volume #6: LOST Edition

 In the 'Legend of Zelda' game for the original Nintendo Entertainment

System, there were these little evil-doers which resembled a delicious

stack of buttery pancakes and whose sole mission were to suck you dry of a hard earned weapon you had just paid mucho rupees for. These fortunate little bottom-feeders were called Like-Likes. That is why I decided to name a new feature article I will be preparing for 'Cultural Compulsive Disorder' after them. Like the fortunate bottom-feeder that I am, I will be scouring the blogosphere for loose related images, video clips, and articles that I found interesting, exciting, or maddening on other blogsites. Things that someone else has, no doubt, painstakingly worked on for weeks, even months, yet I will show no remorse borrowing from them and regurgitating on C-C-D, for you guys to appreciate as well, with all due credit given to it's origins, of course. Things that they liked...and I like...so I'd like to see if you like. So without further ado, I give you "Like!-Like?"

There has been a hole in my soul that LOST used to fill for 6 years of my life. Lately I try to fill it by reading other LOST blogs and looking at fan art. There is no doubt in my mind that LOST will become like Star Trek  and Star Wars before it. That fan art...in the form of short stories, drawings etc. will make the show immortal. So I will do my best to promote said works. Starting with this here LOST Art Edition of 'Like! Like?'. Enjoy.

Dude!?!?!

Everybody who reads Jeff's recaps knows how much contempt I have for Hugo "Hurley" Reyes... I can not stand the tubby bastard. But I must say that in this final season he has been annoying me less and less. I have come to except him in the Lost universe, despite the fact that his sheer girth makes his survival on the island the biggest stretch of reality this show has made so far. Mind you, this is a show featuring smoke monsters and time travel... but if you are 5 bills and you can survive for this long on a dessert island, you get my vote!!! I came across this Youtube compilation of all the times Hurley said "Dude" throughout the series. This video reminds me of the Sawyer "Son of a Bitch" video we posted awhile back... kind of funny as we approach the end of the show. Hope you enjoy!!!

I Fucking Hate Hurley... But Jorge Garcia Is Kinda Cool

I am a huge Lost fan, and I am convinced that the show is pure perfection. But if there is one thing that I can not stand about the series, it's resident island fatty Hurley. Ever since the first time I watched the show, all I could think about was how this fathead was gonna die. Ain't no way a tubby bitch like this was gonna make it on a deserted island... let alone a time hopping, polar bear infested tropcal island. Shit, I even thought the rest of the castaways would put a stake up his fat ass and have some "Suckling Cubano" for dinner with Jack getting the first piece. But no dice. Hurley is still around, and as we get to the last few episodes of the entire series Hurley is proving to be quite important. This means more exposure for Jorge Garcia, and when I was flipping through the April/May 2010 issue of Complex magazine I saw a small featurette on Tubby McTubenstein himself. After reading it, I came to a pretty crazy conclusion: Hurley may be a dick, but Jorge Garcia is pretty fucking cool. So  went to the Complex website, and found this video of his photoshoot. Pretty cool stuff when its all said and done. Maybe Hurley is not half so bad... nah, fuck all that noise. I hope MIB infiltrates Hurley's asshole and inflates him till he pops. Oh wait, he must be doing that already... hahahahaha.But seriously, I have a new respect for our boy Jorgie... good luck in the future you ginormous son of a bitch!!!  Enjoy!!!
